(I'm going to put this question to the staff directly, but I think it would also be a good idea to throw it out to the community and see what others think.)
On the Doom Wiki, I've just blocked User:Painelemental because he said on his user page that he is 12 years old, and my understanding of the Wikia Terms of Use is that use of Wikia is governed by contract law including COPPA, meaning that one must be at least 13.
I feel a bit guilty about the block (and have tried to explain it as politely as possible on his talk page), because I'm wondering if I've done the right thing. What does anyone else think? — RobertATfm 12:35, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, please submit a notice, with proof of the user being underage (oldids/diffs/screenshots), to Staff through Special:Contact/general. I've had a similar issue not long ago and was told that COPPA issues should be sent to them. This ensures that the violating account is disabled. TK999 12:40, June 29, 2012 (UTC)
