I want to create a template that works like the ask bar in an answers wiki (is it possible to copy the whole bar?), I know that I can use the link to create the question, but how I can use that? I mean, how can I create a input field with a button to create a question? (I'd like to use this template on another wiki, not on the answers wiki itself) leviathan_89 17:22, 13 November, 2011 (UTC)

So, basically you want an inputbox that people can type in to create a new article? --Gardimuer { ʈalk } 19:40, November 13, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I've also read the whole documentation on, but there are two problems with the MediaWiki imputbox:
  • The create button use Special:CreatePage, not Special:CreateQuestionPage.
  • The imputbox works only in the wiki it's placed, you cannot create a page on another wiki.
I can't figure it out a solution... if you are wondering why I want it working between two wikis, it's simple: I want an input box on my wiki (One Piece) with which you can ask questions on One Piece Answers. leviathan_89 20:09, 13 November, 2011 (UTC)
I would put in a request to Wikia. They used to support this as a sidebar widget, but after the introduction of Oasis and the extended neglect of the answers wikis, they never made an equivalent for Oasis skinned wikis. I will see if I can dig up the old widget code. I might still have something in it that works for the new answers wikis. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 14 Nov 2011 6:49 PM Pacific

I solved using html codes in a mediawiki page and then embed it with the verbatin tags, the code is

<form id="form_chiedi" name="input" action="" method="get">
Fai una domanda su One Piece: <input id="form_campo" type="text" name="questiontitle" />
<input id="form_pulsante" type="submit" value="Chiedi" />

Yeah, I found the old widget template and it doesn't work anymore. Your example is in Italian, right? -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 15 Nov 2011 2:27 PM Pacific
I modified the old WoW.Answers widget template on WoWWiki to use your new verbatim code and it works nicely.
