Hi! I am once again one of the proud Bureaucrats of the Monster Hunter Wiki. Normally, me and my team deal with the content theft ourselves, and so far we have shut down multiple websites that took our content word for word and Image for Image. But more and more websites try their best to steal content from us lately. Are we really that hated in the internet?
Recently, this website thinks it would be nice to do the same. It even copied some of our Categories and the Images included in it too. And with the website having the faces of our users, that can be a danger for them. I think it's one of the many reasons why we can legally take down the website.
My question is, can Central Wikia assist us in these kinds of things? We want all our copied and stolen content taken down there. Thank you. Mckrongs 13:32, February 12, 2012 (UTC)
- Note that if the site properly attributed your content, then there's no infringement. However they don't seem to be doing this. The site says "Part of games and pages in our site are uploaded by players. contents may come from the entire network. Content copyrights are owned by the original authors. If we infringe your copyright unintentionally, please contact us. We will delete the content within 3 working days." which looks like a boilerplate "we will comply" notice. My guess would be to notify them. You can adapt a Wikipedia violation letter if you wish -- RandomTime 13:40, February 12, 2012 (UTC)
