Many Users belive that wiki "founders" may do whatever they wish this however is not true a wiki founder can be demoted, they can't close the wiki without community approval.Abuse of their sysop rights will result in them being demoted, Wikia does not care if they are a founder. The Founder Tag is nothing more than to say you were the creator of the wiki, nothing more no extra rights over other burs and admins, just a title.

Would you agree with that statment? --Tama63 18:45, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, because founders are nothing more than normal users with admin, and bureaucrat rights. And yes, I have seen sysop rights be abused. The Kool Egg... That Rox... That Rox Too Well 19:58, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
I don't really get wikia's push to recognize the founder of a wiki. Many wiki founders leave the wiki before it is good. I know on Bleach Wiki, our founder made around 100 edits before abandoning the wiki and left it in bad shape. The founder is simply another admin to me.--GodPray  20:02,9/21/2011
The Reason I brought this up is because some stubborn users on a Wiki I edit at think contacting the inactive founder will let them overturn anything they want --Tama63 20:04, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
This is a great convo to take place...glad you posted it Tama. I'd like to address Godi's comment. I'm not so sure I would call it a "push" that we, Wikia are doing to recognize founders. We realized that both founders AND admins need support/guidance/tools etc. So we created Founder and Admin Central. You'll see us focusing on admins as well as founders -- not just founder specifically. But after I write all that, perhaps Godi you were referring to the 'founder' title itself? If so I can expand on that as well. --Meighan WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 22:49, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
Founders shouldn't have any extra powers, but good founders should be recognized. Unfortunately, there is no distinction in the profile feature to distinguish between absentee or inactive founders and active, helpful ones. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 21 Sep 2011 8:36 PM Pacific
If this is regarding my messages to Ajraddatz on League of Legends Wiki, then I hope you know what exactly you read. All I said was that our founder said one time that he was able to kickban other chatmods from chat and said "Crats have a lot more tools than admins." —Technology Wizard ·Contribs· ~Talk~ ·E-Mail·  05:35, 9/22/2011
Problem is some editors think that we cant demote an inactive founder, especially when they return and make random decisions --Tama63 06:11, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
Technology Wizard: that founder bluffed. In fact, bureaucrats only have the following powers:
User right Abilities
Bureaucrats Not be affected by rate limits (noratelimit)
Override the spoofing checks (override-antispoof)
admindashboard (admindashboard)

finishcreate (finishcreate)
wikibuilder (wikibuilder)
wikifeatures (wikifeatures)
Add groups: Bureaucrats, rollback and Administrators
Remove groups: rollback, Administrators and Bots
Remove group from own account: Bureaucrats

The reason why they are also able to block, kickban etc. is because they add the “sysop” user right to their account. I hope this cleans up misunderstandings. TK999 14:45, September 22, 2011 (UTC)
