...or do they just get to play with new features? I've never seen any blog about Community Council, so it seems just like a club for admins that Wikia likes, but doesn't want to make helpers. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 29 Jul 2011 10:05 AM Pacific

Nope, they just test things. That's all.--GodPray  17:08,7/29/2011
Per Godisme, they're just beta testers. Being a part of council only gives you read access on their wiki, it doesn't come with global admin or anything like that.  Monchoman45  Talk  Contribs  Skystone  17:58,7/29/2011
Yes it's just a beta testing group who provide early stage feedback. We have worked to add a diversity of users (so mix of new and experienced). I have it on my to do list to create a help page on what it is. There hasn't been a blog post since it's by invite only currently. If that ever changes we will let you know. I am currently managing the project, so feel free to ping me if you have more questions. Sarah (help forum | blog) 18:11, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
Could we see some feedback comments from the wiki or maybe reviews--Tama63 18:15, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
"Community Council" seems like a misnomer, if they are basically just beta testers. They are from the community, but they don't really represent or get picked by the community. I guess they are a council in the very narrow sense. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 29 Jul 2011 11:41 AM Pacific
I can tell you as a former beta tester, the original description given here is probably right. I heard plenty of great ideas when Oasis was in testing and almost none of them have been developed or even hinted at outside of the "closed doors" of the testing forum. Wikia wants its beta testers to simply report bugs, not provide feedback, so calling it a collection of admins wikia likes is dead on in my book. The name is a horrible choice either way though, mainly because unelected "community councils" smacks of dictatorships and criminal enterprises. - Archduk3 20:19, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
How can I be a Community Council anyways?

(reset indent) Community Council is invite only--GodPray  06:11,8/6/2011

Aw, damn - It would have been a pleasure for me to test things out and give feedback. =(

I also think you need to be very forgiving of Wikia's mistakes... aka you can't make them look bad in public forums or comments. So, some of us will probably never be on the Community Council. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11 Aug 2011 3:42 PM Pacific
I disagree, both bad and good feedback are important, also why was Charitwo promoted anyways since his not "very forgiving of Wikia's mistakes" anyways, Fandyllic? Also, they only see the features in their wiki, not anywhere else.

Charitwo is mostly silent. It is more of an anomaly, the recent complaints you've seen. I also find it strange that the Community Council needs 2 admins from the Harry Potter wiki. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 12 Aug 2011 9:54 PM Pacific
