Visit the MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation page on your wiki and add to it, use * before the level one headers (the tabs on the bar) and ** for the individual menu items. You'll need sysop flags to edit this page like any MediaWiki page. Hope I helped :) ~>ђ (Ŧlยttєгรђא ƒтω!) 08:31, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
See Help:Wiki navigation for detailed information. --Weas-El  09:05, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, no. that is no help at all. I've been trying to get a drop down box for like half an hr and I can't do it. And I'm doing exactly what you said. —This unsigned comment is by VetGeek (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
Always provide a link to your wiki. We'll be happy to look at what is going wrong! --daNASCAT WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 17:00, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
VetGeek, you're probably talking about the Heartland Wiki? You tried to add a fifth menu column, but four is the maximum. --Weas-El  17:28, August 10, 2011 (UTC)
I managed to figure out to get a drop box but now I can't link it to the page I want it to. I hate technology. —This unsigned comment is by VetGeek (talkcontribs) 12:21, August 10, 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
If you give us a link to the page and tell us where you want the link to show up in a drop menu, we can still help you. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 10 Aug 2011 9:13 PM Pacific
Ok, well here's the drop down link: [[1]]. Then this is the page that I want to link to the drop down box: [[2]]. Thanks for the help. I'm not exactly great with technology. Afterwards, could you tell me how you did it? —This unsigned comment is by VetGeek (talkcontribs) 08:50, August 11, 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
I think I know what you want to do. Part of it you'll have to do yourself.
First I added (in "Source" mode of the editor), [[Category:Locations]] to w:c:heartlandtv:Locations which will make it appear in the list of w:c:heartlandtv:Category:Locations.
To make the the list from w:c:heartlandtv:Category:Locations show up in the "Locations" drop menu, you will have to edit w:c:heartlandtv:MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation on your wiki (which I can't do, since I'm not an admin there).
Once you've opened w:c:heartlandtv:MediaWiki:Wiki-navigation in your editor (again in "Source" mode), change the following line:
*Locations
...to:
*Category:Locations|Locations
..and submit your change. See if that all works. There are a few more things you will have to learn to do more, but maybe this will get you started -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 11 Aug 2011 1:03 PM Pacific
Awesome. Thank you. I owe you one. —This unsigned comment is by VetGeek (talkcontribs) 16:11, August 11, 2011. Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
I can make you a wordmark for your wiki too, if you want. Just leave a message on my talk page. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 12 Aug 2011 10:02 PM Pacific
