Hello. I'd like to know if there is any way to globally disable all custom signatures on a wiki, so that users get signed with "default" signatures instead. Custom signatures are always a waste of space and brain energy, and make it harder to read the actual posts. We don't currently have a problem with that on a wiki I'm managing, but only due to the majority of users being initially anonymous. Still, it may happen at some point that we start receiving visitors with customized signatures. I consider this a problem. If anybody knows a way to prevent this, please don't hesitate to tell me. Thanks! Mitranim

No, this isn't possible - you could set a policy requiring signatures to be plain text, but that might annoy users who edit on other wikis. -- RandomTime 11:02, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
In case like that, using the blog in place of the forum would be an idea. As the signatures and timestamps are preformatted on blog comments, nobody has to put their own signature.  Cafeinlove msg 2012/8/19, 22:09 (KST)
Actually, this (in a form of the "new forums") is my big hope for the future. I'm looking forward to a complete ecosystem of "chatty" means of communications Wikia is developing, particularly because they will allow to rid of awfully colorful signatures once and for all. However, the forums are at least a few months off at this point, and it's inclear whether this engine will ever be adapted for the Q&A on answers wikis (one of which I'm taking care of). That's why I would like to have a precautionary measure. Mitranim
