Hello wiki users. I come to ask many things.
Such as the appearances of some of the wikis I work at compared to others.
I work at the Spider-Man Wiki, Ultimate Spider-Man Wiki, and every now again the Ben 10 Ultimate Wiki.
I just stopped editing at the Ben 10 Planet, and I noticed the appearance of their wiki. They have transparent menus, transparent search bar, an auto-refresh button on top of wiki activity, a "cancel" for editing page if people want to stop editing, and a Google Plus button on the home page.
How do they do that? Or I guess to word it differently, how could one (such as my myself) have that cool stuff on my wiki(s)? If ANYONE can either help, do it for me, to tell me how to do it that would be more than awesome, and I would be very greatful if someone could help me with this.
Also while I am here, how do I change the appearance of my signature, and the welcome message for new editors on any wiki? I tried, but I can't get it to work. >.< Can someone help, or point me in the right redirection?Please help me.
You've asked rather a lot of questions. It'll probably help if you were to confine yourself to one topic per thread. However, I'll try to give a brief overview.
|Your question||Brief summary||Where to look for help|
|How does Ben 10 planet wiki look so cool?||Almost everything have to do with the inherent "coolness" of a site's appearance is done through the application of CSS and JS.||Lots of places to look, but if you're interested in what makes Ben 10 Planet tick, go to their:
On every Wikia wiki, your first step in decoding their coolness are these four pages: MediaWiki:Common.css, MediaWiki:Wikia.css, MediaWiki:Common.js, MediaWiki:Wikia.js. Of course, you have to understand CSS and JS to "get" what's going on. There are plenty of sites on the net that can give you a leg-up with that. Just Google it.
|How do I improve my signature?||Typically by creating a template which your Special:Preferences then stamps onto a page when you sign with tildes||tardis:help:signature is a fairly complete walkthrough|
|How do I welcome my visitors?||By altering a few messages in the MediaWiki namespace||Instructions for the welcome tool are typically found at User:Wikia — or, as at this wiki, Help:Welcome tool.|
Hope that helps! <span style="
