I edited this page on the Cannabis Wiki:

Is it possible to create more of those pages as options that show up in the "Create article" page?:

I do not like the layout builder, and it is an option that can be turned on and off.

So I am assuming there may be another way to create new options in the "Create article" page.

The "standard layout" option in "Create article" now uses the page I edited (MediaWiki:Newpagelayout). To see what I mean enter an article title such as "Test article" and then click "Create." Then pick "standard layout". Click "add a page." You will then see what came from MediaWiki:Newpagelayout. The page is not actually created until it is saved (published), and so your test will not cause any problems. ----Timeshifter (talk) 02:26, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

Hello? Anybody know anything, or got any ideas? Or do I need to go to Special:Contact? ----Timeshifter (talk) 00:58, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Hi! As far as I know, we don't have a way of supporting multiple layouts through the MediaWiki:Newpagelayout method (so you should set that to whatever you feel is the most useful arrangement). If Layout Builder isn't working for you, I don't recommend trying to force it to work. Instead, try looking into other methods for preloading content. Here's what Casualty Wiki does, for example: http://casualty.wikia.com/wiki/Special:CreatePage --Dopp WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 17:21, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
As a potential alternitive, you can preload a template on a page by adding "&preload=Template:Templatename" to the end of the edit URL. As an example: http://guildwars.wikia.com/index.php?title=Testpagepleaseignore&action=edit&preload=Template:SF/Monster Preloads the template Template:SF/Monster - which is our Style and formatting article for Monsters on Guild Wars Wikia.
To further improve this, you can use a createbox. An example of a createbox is used on this very wiki using ?preload to preload the forumheader. The code {{#tag:createbox|width=80|break=no|buttonlabel={{{1}}}|preload={{{2}}}}} is a general template which creates a width 80 createbox that has a label of the first argument and preloads the template given in the 2nd argument. -- RandomTime 17:43, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Dopp and Randomtime. I have a lot to learn. :) ----Timeshifter (talk) 12:15, February 16, 2012 (UTC)
