I've look around an I haven found any where that mentions this, but passed variables don't seem to get through to templates that are interwiki linked.

These work:

While this does not:

While the Template is transcoded, the Var1 is not defined.

Is there some sysntax I'm missing? Mpheyse (talk) 15:34, August 29, 2012 (UTC)

"interwiki" transclusions aren't template transclusions at all. They're just the page with an ?action=render appended to the URL, and it's contents are included on the page, nothing more. Parameters doesn't work, categories doesn't get included, links and images are from the original wiki, etc. --Category:Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 15:58, August 29, 2012 (UTC)
Interesting.. So there's not a URL variable that can pass data on to the template then? Something like ?action=render&var=1:a,1:b or some other notion? Mpheyse (talk) 16:31, August 29, 2012 (UTC)
No. I suppose there are security reasons why this is impossible. I also keep hearing that interwiki transclusions are very resource-consuming and therefore discouraged. --  pecoes  17:09, August 29, 2012 (UTC)
