I am trying to create a layout where some of the information the user enters gets put inside a template. I created the layout and everything seems to be fine, but when I try to create a page using the layout only the layout items not in the template are displayed in the form. Does anyone know of a solution to this?
Also, is there a way to make it so that when a user chooses an image in the layout that only the url of that image is transfered to the actual page. The template I am using right now takes a url to an image as input and can't handle an actual image being given as input.

- I recommend putting your question to Special:Contact/general. Using layouts is not very popular with most experienced admins as it has many limitations and is extremely poorly documented by Wikia. -- (talk · contr) 21 Dec 2011 2:58 PM Pacific
- Okay thanks, I will. I actually find templates to be a rather useful feature, particularly on my wiki since it is relatively new and needs lots more articles. (And many of the editors are kids who don't know what they're doing.) Anyway, I'll post the answer to this question here once I get it so that anyone else who has a similar question can see Wikia's answer. Ajedi32 20:09, December 22, 2011 (UTC)
