Guidelines

Currently, the AMP sign-up page is open to any wikis looking for help. Right now we're looking for wikis with the best potential for growth. Since we're still in the early stages of this program we will be selective with the wikis that are chosen, so please don't be upset if your wiki isn't picked up right away. No matter what, we'll make sure you get the help you need!

Hi King Ircher! Your wiki looks like it’s coming along nicely, though we’d like to see you continue editing and working on it for awhile before we can approve your AMP request, since the wiki is only 6 days old. You can continue building out the content for a few weeks and try back again. In the meantime, there are plenty of options to help you with your requested areas of learning:

We have an advice page on attracting contributors and publicity here.
Beyond that page, we have a ton of help pages that you can use to assist in building your wiki. You can begin exploring them here.
Once the wiki has 50 pages, you can request assistance from our Community Development Team. They can help you design your wiki and improve its ranking in search engine results. All of that, plus your content building, will help your wiki start gaining contributors.
There are a lot of users on our community forum who would be happy to answer whatever questions you have, so feel free to post topics there if you have any questions or need any help.

Hi Galaxyldrago28! Given that your wiki is still very young, very small, and no one has edited there in the last 12 days, we're unable to approve your request. I'd like to see you continue editing there for awhile. The main reason we need to see this is to know if your wiki can be successful. We already have a very active wiki for this topic called Naruto Fanon Wiki. Have you considered merging your wiki's content into Naruto Fanon so there aren't two competing wikis?

'What does your wiki need assistance with?' When I entered the wiki for the first time about two weeks ago, it was outdated. I wanted to change that. I got promoted to admin and made some changes but honestly it is pretty hard. The site doesnt get much views and it was just abandoned. So I need help making it new again and get people back on there.
What would you like to learn from AMP? I would love to learn how to get more people to come to my site. Also how to change up minor stuff and just make it new again. That is all I ask.

What does your wiki need assistance with? I need help from the sky to the earth in this wiki, for it is a popular MMO in Android and iOS. When I found this wiki, I thought it would be florished... But as I saw it, I couldn't believe it was just a white void. I couldn't leave it to rot, so I thought I could change its state.

What would you like to learn from AMP? How to create a successful wiki that everyone around the world will be able to use to its full potential.

Hello Brandon. I believe when I made my innitial request, I was trying to make a menu that would hide information until a [+] button was clicked. I could not get it to work for some reason. I was also trying to make templates. I'm goingt to have a lot of repeating information, and dread the thought of entering the same information over and over. Any template I made was a fail. Advertising may not be required since the Wikia will be for a Minecraft server, and may be closed to anyone but the members of that server. I might need help at that point to do some database connection so they don't have to make a seperate account for the Wikia...it would be automatically created for them (if that's even possible). I'm sure there are other things I should mention, but none come to mind at this time.

Over the last week I've read over as much of the information as i could find, but I'm a visual learner and it's difficult to put things into my mind when I read. Templates and 'hidden' information are two of the biggest hurdels I need to clear before we can further develope the wikia. But even then, I may have questions or need help down the road, and want to have a continued communication with a professional.

Thanks for letting me know! It sounds like the best place to go would be our Community Central Forum. I don't think template creation needs the kind of in-depth help AMP provides, but there are plenty of users on the forum who can give you a hand with templates. You can also see our help page on templates here, but I think the forum is your best bet. The users there can help with any other questions you have in the future, and contacting Wikia Staff is always an option too. Also, since I missed your question about database connection earlier, I'm afraid that's not possible. To use a Wikia account, you need to create an account on Wikia and we can't sync that up to another site. Hi Rockandgreen, thanks for applying! Since you only have one requested topic, which is bringing people to your wiki, I'm not sure AMP would be the best fit. However, that's not to say there are no options. We have an in-depth help page on how to attract editors and readers here. Once you have 50 pages on the wiki, you can also ask for help from our Community Development Team. They can help you optimize your wiki for attracting readers and editors. We also have a help page on improving your wiki's Search Engine Optimization, or SEO (which is where your wiki ranks in a search engine), here, as well as a webinar on the same subject here. Why we need your help: With your expertise we think that we would be able to sort out our administrative sections, programme some interesting MediaWiki files and give our Main page and background a make-over. We could also create a wiki logo and you could help us clean up our site and add categories to all our pages to give it a more orderly feel. On top of this, we need some help promoting our wiki and we need to make our wiki eligable for the Community Development Team to help. To do this we need more catogries and 20 more pages. We would have more but because of our genre, our pages tend to be very long instead of lots of smaller pages.
