For clarity's sake... you joined on August 20, 2014. Also, as David stated, there appears to be an active community. According to the guidelines on the adoption page, "If there are other users please start a blog post or other public discussion of new leadership before making your request and allow users at least a week to respond." So, you need to make a discussion with the other users about your plans to adopt. This can be done via a forum post, blog, or individual messages with the active users. If they approve of your desire to adopt, then make sure you follow the right guidelines for adoption. (edit actively for a week, create new pages, help the community, talk with other users, etc...) Good luck!
