Adoption requests MapleWiki

Username: PirateIzzy

Wikia URL: maplestory.wikia.com

Current edit count: 2,061 and counting

How long I have edited there: Since April 25, 2013, almost a year

Last admin to edit and when: Darrylpoh, March 20, 2014 (verify)

Other information: Darrylpoh is the only active administrator at the moment, and he isn't very active. He is also not a bureaucrat. The only bureaucrat on MapleStory Wikia is Richmond2010, and he hasn't performed any edits since July 26, 2013.

This wiki is ineligible. Admins need to be inactive for 60 days minimum. --Tupka217 19:56, March 21, 2014 (UTC)
We often contact Darrylpoh or D0raemon (the more active out of the admins) about edits/deleting pages, and most of them go unresponded. Additionally, they have no power in promoting PirateIzzy as the only people with b-crat rights have last logged in August 2013 and September 2012. Noreplyz talk 22:26, March 21, 2014 (UTC)
Currently MapleWiki has no active administrators with bureaucrat rights now, others are unable to do things that only admins are able to fulfill e.g. delete pages, ban users. Therefore, new bureaucrat(s) is needed in order to regulate the wiki.

The usual method is for the active admin (and active here simply means "having edited in the last 60 days") to ask for bcrat rights.
The inactivity is a prerequisite for adoption, though sometimes, the people handling this would overlook it. Don't count on it, though. --Tupka217 08:49, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
Hi. I am confused -- did D0raemon wish to become a bureaucrat? Or wish to support PirateIzzy's request?
In the case of a wikia with minimal sysop activity, we can still appoint a bureaucrat or additional sysops as desired, but there must be a community discussion (a blog or forum) and the community must actively agree on the new admin. Tupka is correct that the more usual way is for one of the existing admins to be promoted to bureaucrat, but if they do not wish those rights we can also appoint somebody different to the position. Messages need to be left for both D0raemon and Darrylpoh on their talk pages with links to the discussion and a clear statement that you guys are voting on a new bureaucrat. Give us a link to the discussion and we will check back again. -- Wendy (talk)@Wikia 04:39, March 31, 2014 (UTC)
I believe it was intended to support my request, but I'd rather have him answer that. I posted a blog post on the wiki supporting me, D0raemon, or Darrylpoh to become a bureaucrat. (I probably could have worded the post better, but I think it should be fine.) I just hope that the active members notice it.

By D0raemon's comment on the blog post he wishes to support PirateIzzy's request. Noreplyztalk 12:37, March 31, 2014 (UTC)
Well, I got the approval of Noreplyz and D0raemon. Is there any way I can announce to the entire Wikia about the blog post? --PirateIzzy (talk) 00:01, April 1, 2014 (UTC)
I have 3 people who support me. The problem is, either the "community" (not a lot of active people) doesn't know (which I doubt), or they just don't care. --PirateIzzy (talk) 20:05, April 3, 2014 (UTC)

If a blog is properly done, then all you have to do is allow the blog to have existed for a week or so and make sure there are no objections. That's basically it. Thisismyrofl (talk) 23:14, April 3, 2014 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for letting me know about that. Let's see how it plays out.--PirateIzzy (talk) 00:53, April 4, 2014 (UTC)

Here's the link again to the blog post that I made, existed for (a little less than) a week. Four people support me becoming admin/bcrat. So, is it still possible for me? --PirateIzzy (talk) 04:29, April 7, 2014 (UTC)

Just be a bit patient, Wendy will get to it soon :) Noreplyztalk 08:03, April 8, 2014 (UTC)

The blog has been open for longer than a week. You can give Merrystar a reminding nudge on her wall. --Love Robin (talk) 09:08, April 8, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for creating the blog and messaging the admins. Just to clarify, while Thisismyrofl is correct that generally speaking for adoptions we don't require that anybody comment on the blog but only that they have a chance to do so, when there are already semi-active admins like this we actually do require that the community openly support the request. Luckily, in this case, many of them have at this point. I have given you admin and bureaucrat rights. Good luck with the wikia! -- Wendy (talk)@Wikia 04:40, April 10, 2014 (UTC)
