Adoption requests PBS Kids Wiki

What is your username? RRabbit42

Please link to the wiki here: PBS Kids Wiki

How many edits have you made on that wiki? 360

How many days/months have you been editing there? five months

On the Special Pages → Special:ListUsers when was the last time an admin edited, and who was it? Agency, on March 24, 2014

Any other information: I had put in a request for admin rights earlier this month, but realized afterwards that Agency hadn't even logged into his account for almost three months. So I made the announcement that I wanted to adopt the wiki. The only other person who is currently active did not participate in that discussion, even after being reminded about it.

Regarding the other adoption guidelines, I haven't adopted any other wikis for several months, I'm not blocked on any wikis I'm aware of, and have created a few new pages. The main page and the template it uses are locked down, so I can't update those with any news at the moment. My only messages for other users has been to one person, and as you can see by this message, talking to her was a futile effort. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 20:50, June 28, 2014 (UTC)

The other user has chosen to remove the adoption notice from her message wall, so I'm going to count that as there being no objections to me adopting this wiki. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 19:35, July 1, 2014 (UTC)

In the interest of full disclosure, that other user has been removing most of my messages to her. Quite a few of these were deletion notices left due to the nonsense she has been repeating ad nauseum, with many of them being attempts to put words in other people's mouths, including mine. Others were legitimate messages to communicate with her. In short, she doesn't want to hear what anyone else has to say so she just erases it.

It's my policy that when I become an admin of a wiki, disruptive users still get one more chance. If they choose not to accept that chance, then they've made it more than clear at that point that they are not interested in helping the wiki grow and they are subsequently blocked. Length of time varies, but it's usually not a permanent block just in case they might actually change their behavior in the future.

If my attempts to deal with this person both on an equal footing and in the capacity of an administrator (but without the admin rights themselves) disqualify me for adopting this wiki, let me know. Thanks. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 02:16, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

Hi. I've given you admin and bureaucrat rights.
Yes, I saw your blog and your efforts to talk to the other user -- thank you for being upfront about it here. I think you have been quite patient with her and it is fair to treat her as you would any user who added nonsense and refused to communicate on one of the wikias you already admin. Good luck with it! -- Wendy (talk@fandom 02:42, July 10, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. It's going to take a while to get it cleaned up but now I have the ability to do so. Regarding that user, one of these days, I'm going to be surprised when a disruptive user actually listens to what people say to them. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for that day. Even after being given two more chances, she showed no signs of changing her behavior. I've set a permanent block. Add one more to the tally of "some people just don't want a second chance". —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 14:42, July 12, 2014 (UTC)
