Adoption requests Pikmin Wiki

What is your username? Kirbyddd

Please link to the wiki here: http://pikmin.wikia.com/wiki/Pikmin_Wiki

How many edits have you made on that wiki? 212

How many days/months have you been editing there? 1 year, 5 months, 17 days.   Around a year and a half.

On the Special Pages → Special:ListUsers when was the last time an admin edited, and who was it? October 15, 2014     Jpmrocks7

Any other information:

The wiki and most of the community moved to an independent wiki and I didn't want this one to fall into disrepair, as it once did.  New, inexperienced users are already appearing and making poor edits.  A senior editor suggested that if someone wants to keep the wiki runnng they should request adminship, so here I am...

Unofficial response: (Please wait for an official response by a staff member)
Hullo! There appears to be several other contributors at this wiki. According to the adoption guidelines, it is required that the adopting user make a blog/forum post/announcement of some sort explaining their intentions to adopt on an active wiki, so other users on the wiki can give their input, and comment. It's best to make a blog or forum about your adoption rather than individual messages so there can be consensus in one place (which makes it easier for Staff). You should let the announcement run for 1 week, and link here so Staff can review it.

Also, another requirement for adopting is active editing (making new pages, fixing up articles, adding content, building the wiki) for 1 solid week. Your edits have been slightly sporadic. But, by editing at least every day or two while you wait for this request to be processed, (which ranges from 7-10 days), you should meet that requirement. It doesn't have to be a lot of edits each time, it is just the *frequency* of the edits that Staff needs to see, to show your investment and commitment to the wiki. Happy editing!

P. S. Two bureaucrats, while not active on the wiki, last *logged on* just the other day. If *I* may make a suggestion, you should message them asking for the rights. You never know, you just might get them sooner. :) If you choose to directly request the rights from them, you should check out this fantastic blog written by Sannse, which provides stellar advice on receiving rights. Cheers! Shyguy-emoticon.gifJoey (talk)

Hello. Joseph is correct that you need to start a community discussion about adopting the wikia -- either a blog or forum. It should be open for discussion for at least a week (it is ok if nobody actually answers). Remember to keep editing regularly and leave me a message on my wall when you are ready for me to check back again. -- Wendy (talk@Wikia 03:02, January 13, 2015 (UTC)
Alright. Thank you both for your help. I'll open a blog post and check up on the wiki as often as I can. I'll also send a message to the current administrators and make sure they're okay with it. People are realizing that the wiki is empty and are starting to act out a bit, so I think I'll have some more reasons to check up on the wiki regularly. Thanks again, I'll check back with you later. {{SUBST:User:Kirbyddd/sig}} 05:11, January 13, 2015 (UTC)
Well, I've returned.  I'm sorry for not contacting you in a while, a lot of things happened.  My     computer broke and there was a run-in with some people from Pikipedia, but it's all sorted out.  The blog post has been up for more than a week, (obviously), and I waited until I could start editing regularly again to talk to you again.  So, I'm back, but it has been a while, so I'm not sure what happens next.

I happened to see your response -- in general it is much better to use my message wall as I do not regularly check these requests after I answer them.
While you are more than welcome to adopt the wikia, your stated intention of directing any new editors to the offsite wiki is a problem; this wikia has every right to find a new community and to continue to grow, regardless of what the former contributors who have left think. I'm going to close this request at this time based on the opinions you stated in the on-wikia discussions about not promoting its growth and sending interested contributors to the other one. -- Wendy (talk@Wikia 15:45, February 28, 2015 (UTC)
I understand.  This means I can make a new request if circumstances change, correct?  {{SUBST:User:Kirbyddd/sig}} 18:39, March 1, 2015 (UTC)
