Any other information:

I am requesting to adopt this wiki for the game called Survivalist available on PC and Xbox 360. There have been complaints on Steam Forums, Indie DB and elsewhere that the Wiki is not very good/incomplete/bad theme design. After playing this game and stumbling on this Wiki, which was highest on Google Search results for "Survivalist Wiki", I noticed an inherent lack of formality throughout the Wiki. There were formatting errors and inconsistencies, typos and misspellings, not using templates etc., and the Wiki was very incomplete.

I take it upon myself to do all that I can for this wiki: standardise the pages with templates (which I have started to do with Infoboxes), create articles for categories such as Items, Buildings, create general articles such as Controls, etc.

I have even personally gone into the game files and unpacked game assets: images of items and buildings, this is my dedication to creating a good wiki for Survivalist. The developer is a single person who has coded this amazing indie game, and he is easy to contact and has given permission for the wiki to use these assets via Steam Discussions: http://steamcommunity.com/app/340050/discussions/0/492379439692203294/

I have post on the Message Walls of the two most recently active members of the wiki, Lakeside and TWDFan630.

http://survivalist-xbox-360-indie-game.wikia.com/wiki/Message_Wall:Lakeside

http://survivalist-xbox-360-indie-game.wikia.com/wiki/Message_Wall:TWDFan630

TWDFan630 has the most edits on the Wiki, he has previously tried to adopt this Wiki (and I personally think he would be first candidate to adopt this wiki), however he said that he was blocked on several other Wikis and therefore cannot adopt this one.

http://survivalist-xbox-360-indie-game.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:TWDFan630/I%27ve_requested_myself_to_adopt_this_wiki

Due to displeasure at the state of this wiki, other Wikis on Survivalist have showed up:

http://survivalist-indie-game.wikia.com/ which was created by TWDFan630

http://survivalist-game.wikia.com/

However, they both have almost no content and member presence.

Many are also displeased at the very long "Survivalist Xbox 360 Indie Game Wiki" title. Our community is already small enough we cannot afford this division.

So in regards to the Wiki, I am requesting to adopt this wiki for admin/bureaucrat permissions, because there are several significant things that I cannot do otherwise:

  1. Request for a Wiki Name Change: requires admin permissions. I would love nothing more than to just be called Survivalist Game Wiki with URL: http://survivalistgame.wikia.com/ Simplest URL yes? No hyphens or other descriptives.
  2. Change the design theme: The bright green colour with tiled background and white text has been complained about, and I think can be improved, but access to the Theme CSS files requires admin permissions.
  3. Cleaning up categories and pages: It's a bit messy right now, there are categories that need to be rearranged.

Granted I can still edit and create templates at the moment, which is what I am doing right now to standardise the content in the wiki.

The only admin, who is the founder/creator, FatSausage2011 only made contributions on the day of creation and 2 days after. http://survivalist-xbox-360-indie-game.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/FatSausage2011

They last logged in 11:19, May 9, 2014. It is clear enough that they have neglected this Wiki.

I know maintaining a Wiki is a lot of work, and it is not as easy as just "starting a wiki", which I could do right now at my desired URL, rather than have to go through support requests and wait. That would be the easy option. I want to take the hard option, especially as an admin when you are the one who makes all the design/big changes. Our community is so small, if I don't step in, then it's likely no one will. Not to the same degree of formality as I am prepared to do at least.

PS: One thing I forgot to do was to put this under the same page as the first adoption request by TWD630 Fan. Instead I'll link it here: http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Adoption:Survivalist_Xbox_360_Indie_Game_Wiki?action=history

Hello. That previous adoption request was completed and "archived." You were correct in creating a new adoption request. :) --LêgêndFPŠ wall

Oh, you renamed the page, that's good. Thanks! Jonius7 (talk) 03:38, December 12, 2015 (UTC)

You should be able to adopt the wiki when staff come. --Excuse me for breaking that wall 13:24, December 23, 2015 (UTC)
Hello. I've given you admin and bureaucrat rights; I've also changed the URL and sitename. Good luck cleaning up the rest! -- Wendy (talk 03:54, December 24, 2015 (UTC)
Omg, thank you so much, saves me having to put in a separate request. Though I didn't update my adoption request, I prefer the name Survivalist Wiki now. Can you change it again, or I'll put in the request at Special:Contact? The URL can stay the same. Thanks for the Christmas present! Jonius7 (talk) 04:46, December 24, 2015 (UTC)

If you just wanted to rename the main page (not the URL), see here to the name you would like. Also don't forget to rename the talk page to your new name as well. Ripto (Talk) 04:50, December 24, 2015 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for that, it just changes the main page but the name appears elsewhere. We may actually need community discussion on this, as I got some replies on Steam Discussions. Jonius7 (talk) 21:05, December 24, 2015 (UTC)
