I am hoping to gain at least admin status so I can add/delete category tags on certain pages/possibly change the template.

Hello. I see that Freakwerks recently answered a message; please leave one for him explaining that you have requested an adoption for the wikia, and give him about a week to answer. Keep editing and remind me on my wall to check back again after a week.

Adding and removing category tags generally does not require sysop rights, and I don't see any protected templates there either, so you should be able to do both of those things while you wait. -- Wendy (talk)  02:49, September 22, 2015 (UTC)
