Out of curiosity, may I ask what happened to the user rename tool that broke it? Isn't it a backend tool?
On a side note, when can we expect it to be operational once again?

I would like to know as well. (Thanks for posting this btw. I ended up trying again, to no avail. I was getting worried when no one had brought it up here yet.)
The new code is likely PHP and, so likely, is the rename tool. What makes you think these things could be separate? Alot of things in the wiki engine are inter-related. If the new code changed something in the way the data in the DB is arranged, that could easily break something like a rename tool which probably works mostly on the DB.

That's likely if the schema changed, especially if the tables affected have been altered. That makes perfect sense. Okay, so that being said, I'd still like an ETA on it being fixed. :)
