I have a template on The Last Stand Wiki called {{Item}}. The template often uses links inside the template. Links appear red on the wiki, whether it be a normal link or the infamous "redlink" (a link to a non-existent or deleted page). The problem is, while these red links appear just fine on the dark background of the wiki, they become really difficult to see inside of the template, which also has a red background. For example, see this.
There are two links in the diff above, and they are all red, along with the red template background. Some users have raised concerns over links being hard to see, and some propose changing the background color. However, I disagree with this, since the wiki has always used red as... what shall we say... "signature" color. Red navbar on top, red links, red edit button... and out of the blue we have a blue colored template? Nah, nty.
I have thoughts of maybe changing the color of the links themselves, since they are the problem. The only problem is, how do I change the color of the links inside a template without using <font color="#####">Link</font> next to each link? I raise this concern because I'm afraid using HTML code like this will make it harder to read the text in the editor, and possibly confuse newbies. Is it possible to add a certain bit of code in the template that will only change the color of the text if it is a link? (E.g. This text appears normal, but instead of blue, this link shall appear green, without requiring <font color="####"> tags next to the link).
Apologies if this description is a tad bit confusing.
