@Citrusellaeditswikis @Jsteel7: I tried the above on Racing karts and it works (as does mine, but not as well 😰). Then other images on that wiki have a style of their own, which this CSS doesn't effect, like at Extreme EZ Livin' 2. …and I don't really know why they're different 😆. The only difference I see is one has a caption, and the other does not. There doesn't appear to be any CSS or JS that would be acting on these images, as far as I can tell.
(…I'm assuming we're talking about the Wreck-It Ralph Wiki…)
The ones on the Racing karts articles are galleries; the wiki makes use of a lot of them.
EZ Livin' looks different than a lot of other articles, like the old ones a bit (after looking into it, it appears it will change to the style I'm about to detail if I make any saves to it. But ones like here: Vanellope von Schweetz and User:Citrusellaeditswikis/Policy ideas/File policy (the last section) have lost all edging/background color/border. They're just... kind of like galleries of just one image, aligned left or right. There don't appear to have been any changes to our wiki's CSS/JS or anything, but just looking around, this seems abnormal actually compared to other wikis... :-/ Is the missing frame/background intended or is that actually indication of an issue with the wiki's code?
I have noticed this may be a me issue (or a cache one?), though, as no newly added personal CSS or JS seems to work.
I mean this particular image on Racing karts, which uses the new style for thumbnails and is not a part of the gallery: http://cl.ly/VT5S
…as opposed to this image on Extreme EZ Livin' 2 which has a caption and a different style: http://cl.ly/VS51
The ones without background/color/border have the new style that was just rolled out.
It may be that EZ Livin' has not been edited in a very long time there? Might switch if it was purged? (Racing karts hasn't been edited within the last week, but it's been edited much more recently than EZ Livin'.)
EDIT: Purged it and it switched.
Still not working anywhere. About to check to make sure I haven't inserted everything wrong somehow, since nothing I added to CSS or JS last night works. If it doesn't work after rechecking, I'll come back.
Yeah, no additions to my CSS or my JS (I added a related-but-different-thing script last night as well) work. I still get the new look on all pages that have been purged/had their cache updated. Pages still displaying cached versions have the old border, but they lose it if I manually purge them.
I found several wikis that have the default (new) thumbnail style. I added this code to my global.css and waited a few minutes for the caches to update, then refreshed those pages. Every page on every one of those wikis had this new style applied.
So, the code is good at least. I dunno why it's not working for you.
That's why I'm confused as well. I've tried everything you've done as well as manually purging page caches and purging my own cache of the page.
...Sigh. Maybe I'll ask around with the couple of computer people I know in real life. Not necessarily holding out for anything much different, but for all I know, it's a "me thing" I haven't even thought about that they will (I know it's not my browser, but maybe it could be something else...).
Well, I don't know and apparently neither does anyone else I asked. I have no idea what I could be missing, as it very much seems to be a me thing at this point, and I'd be surprised if it wasn't.
