The Penguin Bomber[1] (ペンギンボマーズ[2] Pengin Bomāzu?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, penguin-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.

Appearance[]

Penguin Bomber

Based on penguins, Penguin Bombers have a fuse on their heads. Basic details include black and white armor, two black eyes, a short yellow beak and white flippers. They move forward with yellow skis in place of feet.

Overview[]

Robotnik winter

In Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble, the Penguin Bombers only appear in Robotnik Winter Zone. In gameplay, they are robotic suicide bombers that waddle slowly down the slopes in their Zone, charging after they spot the playable character before exploding. If the player is using the Jet Board, Sonic can dash through Penguin Bombers to defeat them easily. Alternatively, the player can dispatch Penguin Bombers with a standard Spin Jump or Spin Attack as both Sonic or Tails.

In Robotnik Winter Zone Act 3, Giga Thomas "Pen", the boss of Robotnik Winter Zone, is a floating Penguin Bomber maker, who can spit them out from its mouth with no limits at any time. These Penguin Bombers, however, are already on their countdown.

Like other Badniks in the game, no Animals pop out of the Penguin Bombers when they are destroyed.

Powers and abilities[]

Penguin Bombers are highly volatile once they are approached, as they will charge in one direction before exploding, making them dangerous for the unprepared.
