Samurai Jack wiki (Accepted)Edit

6Teen Wiki (Accepted) Edit

Ever since I've been editing the 6Teen Wiki I've noticed that I'm pretty alone there. It's sort of abandoned, and the only people that hang around there are vandals. I revert their edits, but they can get away with anything since the last time an administrator logged on there was in late 2008. I could really make this wiki better as I've contributed a lot to the Total Drama Island Wiki, and a bit of the Sims Wiki. I've already added a main characters list, and a better image to the front page, but I really feel like I want to make this wiki fantastic, and for that, I need administrator powers. POTC wiki (Accepted) Edit

All administrators on Pirates of the Caribbean wiki are missing or resigned. None of them has contributed for a months. Any vandal can go there and upload whatever he wants, including any sort of trash. There are at least thirty pages and twenty files that are candidates for deletion but they are still there. Liberapedia (Declined)Edit

I feel I should be a bureaucrat at Liberapedia as I am the most active administrator. Further the current bureaucrat, Ajuk has suggested nominating the article on Islam to be featured. I support the free speech issue and I'm prepared for the vandal attack that might follow from featuring this. Last spring there was also a serious vandal campaign and I was the only sysop who did anyting to protect Liberapedia. Ajuk neither helped against vandals nor promoted an ordinary user who was trying to help without sysop power. I faced the same problem on Old Liberapedia and know how frustrating it is when someone is trying to protect a wiki against vandalism in progress and must wait for a sysop to come online. If there are future vandal attacks I feel I need to promote sysops where needed. I am already a bureaucrat on Atheism Wiki and Speculative Evolution Wiki so I know how to use bureaucrat features and I hope I have shown that I can be trusted.

I'm sorry to be going through here instead of through the Liberapedia channels but I'm not sure what Ajuk wants; I very much want Liberapedia to survive. Vandal attacks are inevitable on a controversial wiki and I'm not keen to take again the type of pressure there was last spring without being able to promote sysops. Hi Proxima Centauri, I understand your concerns but it looks like this is a quite active wiki with several active admins, and isn't eligible for adoption through these channels. If you've tried to discuss this with Ajuk and the other users, could you please provide a link? If not, it's best to start a discussion on the wiki to solve the problem. I tried to send Ajuk a brief email, I didn't go into any detail as I feared that would stir trouble up but just asked to be a bureaucrat. I fear there was a computer glitch as I didn't find a copy of my email in my email account. Vanguard Saga of Heroes Wiki (Accepted)Edit

The still-thriving MMO Vanguard has, since its beginning, lacked a strong all-around source of information for the community. This Wiki, while still in its infancy after being abandoned twice now by its administrators and community, has the most potential to become that source. Its two current administrators are Avaera3 and Crafter Dave. Crafter Dave has been inactive for a little more than four months, and Avaera3 has ceased to play Vanguard, and offered up administration to any willing individuals on her talk page just under two months ago (July 4). Unfortunately, she no longer seems to check her talk page, which leaves us (well me, as I'm the only current contributor) in a bit of a bind. I edit and contribute regularly, and plan to continue to do so. I also intend to recruit friends and guild members from within the game and through the game's official forums to come and contribute, but do not feel I can do this without any administrators on hand to respond to vandalism or spam. For these reasons I would like to become its sysop/bureaucrat, to assist me in helping it to blossom into the great community resource it was always meant to be. Dutch Dofus Wiki (Accepted)Edit

Hi,

I would like to adopt the Dutch Dofus Wiki. This wiki started in the end of 2006, but it got very inactive. It only reached 123 articles when I started to help the wiki on the 9th of august, this year. A lot of the original articles were vandalism, spam or not relevant with dofus, and as far as I can see with my normal user power en wikia knowledge, all the admins or other people with powers on that wikia haven't been active on that wiki for more then a year. (There have been created new pages after then, but none of them were serious) So this wiki is inactive enough to be adopted. Today was first serious new article made by someone else then me (I've mode about 300 new articles), and now that I'm not the only one who wants to rebuild the wiki, I think it's time to adopt it so we can seriously work on it.

I'm eligible to adopt, contributing to the wiki's content, I've edited (Removed content and marked for delete) most spampages, made about 300 new pages and I'm trying to build the community. That's not so easy when there isn't a community, but I've alreay thanked the new person who is helping with the wiki, and offering him help and advice if he needs it. I'm also trying to keep the wiki look well-tended, by making a template wich include an image with every new page (If the image is uploaded), and deleting spam or incorrect information so the wiki looks serious and reliable.

D.Gray Man wiki (Accepted)Edit

hi there, I am thinking of adopting this wiki, but it doesn't quite fulfill the conditions for adoption:

  1. not listed in the adoption list [adoption list]
  2. wiki is still receiving edits on daily basis by other users

However, I noticed the following problems:

  1. vandalism is starting already. I have deleted the offending content on this page [sample vandalism page]
  2. the sole admin/bureaucrat has not been active since May 2009, 3 months ago
  3. no other bureaucrats, not even admins on this wiki
  4. most pages are not categorised, users are just adding anything ad hoc in a seemingly chaotic fashion

Yes, you can, adoption doesn't have to mean that the Wiki is inactive. You can adopt it, however; you must first ask the community who will become the new admin(s), as soon as the community has decided, leave a link here to the discussion, and it'll be done. Wowwiki is commonly known as one of the best resources regarding the Warcraft Universe. The wiki-system, contrary to regular websites and databases, creates a full interactive environment in which information can be updated immediatly when changes occur.

The wowwiki-project has several translations on independent wiki's. The Dutch version is not only outdated and very poorly documented, it also has lost the interest of the current admins. Because of this, spammers are free to act, since editors can only delete the spam, rather than prevent it in the future.

I'd like to apply as administrator of the Dutch wowwiki translation. I have a broad knowledge of the Warcraft universe; during my research in the games and books, I've written down tons of Dutch notes concerning the different topics. I'm hesitating to publish my work online, because of the amateuristic looks of the wikiportal, as well as the uncertain future of the website. I'm a senior student of journalism, specialised in webrelated media.

I'm very motivated to let a fresh wind blow through this website. Online connections have proven that there is still an eager audience for Dutch Warcraft-related topics.

Preferably, I would like to get bureaucrat rights so that the wiki doesn't remain without one. I have no intent AT ALL to demote the current sysop. I've left a note on her user page notifying her that I would apply here.

I would require to get at least sysop rights so I can do the necessary housekeeping (delete my own pages that I marked for that purpose...) The main problem being that I can not request adminship on the wikia since there's no active bureaucrat.

Defying Gravity Wiki (Declined) Edit

The DaVinci wiki (Accepted)Edit

I would like to open a wiki, not about Leonardo Da Vinci, but rather in the spirit of his special way of thinking. Kind of like a wiki version of the notebooks in which Leonardo have detailed all his ingenious ideas in so many eras of art and science, most of them way ahead of their time. Accordingly the DaVinci wiki will be a place for people (like myself, to be honest) with creative minds in which all kind of ideas pop up in what would seem to others as a non-particular order , to drag and drop their ideas into (under a rather strict set of regulations, to prevent the wiki from becoming a place for people to just drop anything they have no other place for into)

I saw that the name is already taken but since the wiki was opened on May 2009 by user:SingerLady321 it was not used.

I'd like to adopt Spiroupédia. There's only one admin, and he is kinda inactive and doesn't answer my request. The wiki was created in December 2008 and it was still the default main page until some days ago when I completely revamped it. Diablo 3 wiki (Accepted) Edit

Diablo 3 wiki has no admins at all (Except for 3 staff admins). The main page is outdated, and also a lot of pages are candidates for deletion but are still there. I am the nr.1 contributor on the wiki and almost every page with content is created by me. I'd like to be an admin for the diablo 3 wiki.

Edit: Maybe Bureaucrat is also a bit usefull so I can make other admin's without bothering this section again :P

The wiki doesn't quite yet meet the requirements for adoption, however if the founder has abandoned the project, Wikia might make an exception once the requirements are met. Shakugan no Shana Wiki (Accepted) Edit

I have just discovered this Wiki when I was looking for a viable source of information for the anime of the said name. As I looked around, it seemed that the admins have been inactive for a while (I'm not sure for how long, though). After talking to a fellow member of Wikia, I've discovered that I could opt to adopt the Wiki, so I decided to give it a try.

I checked the guidelines on the Adoption Requests page and it seemed to fit the current situation of the Wiki right now. In addition to that, I've also worked as a contributor on the WITCH Wiki, adding a few articles and editing some in the process.

Goblins Comic Wiki (Accepted) Edit

I would like to adopt the Goblins Comic wikia. The founder, Avistew, is the only beaurocrat or admin, and he has not edited or even logged in for about 9 1/2 months. I've contributed a lot of content, introduced templates, attempted to make related articles more uniform in format, and generally added to the quality of the wiki. The only other actively contributing users are relatively new, though they are doing great so far.

I'd really like to be able to make bigger changes, like a custom skin for the wiki. I've created one wiki previously, and I've long since handed admin status to a couple users that were very dedicated to it. Thanks for considering my request!

SNK Wiki (Accepted)Edit

I would like to adopt SNK wiki. It was suggested by one of the wikia staff that someone should try applying to adopt the wiki. I had also been offered the position once by the admin himself but declined due to not thinking it necessary at the time. However, sole admin/bureaucrat has not logged on in four months. Naruto Facts Wikia (Accepted)Edit

Hi, I'm heading a project on a forum I frequent to create a wiki that compiles the facts (i.e. canon) of comics. We wanted to use the name "Naruto Facts," but it appeared to already be taken. However, after looking at the wiki in question, it is almost completely dead. Originally made in October of 2008, there are only 25 pages on the wiki itself, and out of those 25, only one has any content, the rest being blank. Furthermore, the latest edit to the wikia itself was over a month ago, with no activity since.

I'm sorry, I reviewed the most recent edits on the wiki and they appeared to be you and Nitty discussing the sabotage of other wikis...this is not behavior we want to encourage. If you are serious about your interest in Zune, then I suggest that you remove the old talk page messages and any other unrelated text, then concentrate on creating new articles for a week or two. If you can demonstrate to me that you want to improve the content and won't get bored with this, then I'll be willing to reconsider allowing you to take up admin rights there. It hasn't got an active admin, so it can't grow and thus it cn't be friends with the Jak and Daxter wiki. i think i can help out, put in a rules system and perhaps help it grow. Hi Technobliterator -- I've given you the admin rights.  Please don't fuss too much about rules at this stage -- it's much more important to be friendly and welcoming to new editors (which gets them to want to behave) than to have lots of rules in place (which try to force people to behave).  Banning is not a punishment; it's just a tool to stop people from doing things that need to be cleaned up afterwards.  Concentrate on creating new stories and inviting fun people to do the same, and soon you'll be as large and active as some of our other big fanon wikis.   Good luck!  — Catherine@fandom (talk) 18:46, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

Tales of Pirates Wiki (Accepted)Edit

Hello, I would like to request co-adminship for the tales of pirates wiki.
It has no active users and the 2 admins are inactive too. I left a message on their talkpage to request co-adminship, but there has been no activity at all.
I've been working on this tales of pirates wiki since dec08 and boosted it to a 2000+ articles wiki with over 1.5k page views per day. Wakfu Wiki (Accepted) Edit

Hello, I would like to request administration rights over the Wakfu Wikia, as I believe it has been abandoned by the existing administration for the following reasons:

  1. The "Candidates for Deletion" category has held a number of articles (duplicates, forgotten articles) for a number of months now, with no apparent move to delete them.
  2. A thread, here, on the Wakfu Official Forums about the wiki has not seen any significant discussion, even after a minor revival to discuss precisely the lack of progression.
  3. Three of the people who identify as being in control of the Wiki (when it was originally set up) have not posted on the official forum in a number of months. Two of them have not posted since 2008, and the other only briefly visited the forum with a single post in an unrelated "Ruin a Wish" game-thread in April 2009.

There is a question about one of the criteria though: "No sustained editing by other users" is not entirely met, as Sauronzg has been active over the past month updating a few of the pages (mostly related to the same main article).

Wakfu, which is currently still in Beta development, has recently undergone a large rewrite of the game (it might easily described as an entirely different game). This occurred roughly at the beginning of September. Sauronzg is an active member of the Wakfu Official Forum, as he was when the Wakfu.wikia.com was initially set up, and is as willing as I am to see the wiki becomes as successful as it should. So I believe he has restarted editing the wikia in good-faith that the admins are still around. If I am successful in this adoption then I would immediately grant him proper rights in recognition of his contributions (he still only has member rights).

I, myself, am also a well known contributor on the Wakfu Official Forum (under the name GoldfishGod), and author of a number of guides found there (most of which have been used as the basis for the some of the articles on wakfu.wikia). I have also been in a high-up position of both the NWN and NWN2 wikis. For NWN, starting as a basic member, I was given additional user-rights as recognition for my contributions, and for NWN2 I was granted those same rights on its creation for my continuing work and helped structure much of what remains there today.

I do not wish to see the current administration stripped of all their rights as they have been fundamental in getting wakfu.wikia started, and they may wish to return to it in the future. However for the moment, they appear absent, and I would at least like to assume caretakership of it if possible (though I do intend to do something more extensive than merely babysitting). --Defunc7 15:51, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

A quick update, we're discussing the issue here: Sauronzg's discussion page and Pallas-athene (the original founder, and current lead admin) agrees with this course of action.
A slightly different issue, Sauronzg apparently cannot currently play the game due to a bug, so he may not be interested in editing the wiki at the moment.--Defunc7 19:13, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

Spectrobes Wiki (Accepted)Edit

Hello wikia. My name is M-NUva. I would like to ask for admin rights on the Spectrobes Wikia. I have been on the wiki for a short time but I need more rights so that the editing process that I am going through will be a success. I need the ability to delete pages considering that many pages need to be merged or expanded and cannot stay the way they are. I know that I have not done too much to the wikia but I am already on the featured users list and want to get this wikia running so that people that need to access the information on spectrobes will be able to get it.

Lost Odyssey (Declined) Edit

I've been editing the Lost Odyssey Wiki for awhile now. I was offered adminship once and turned it down as at the time I did not feel I could devote myself to it. However now I do have the time and ambition to devote myself to taking care of Lost Odyssey for the foreseeable future. None of the other admins seem to be taking much if any active role in this wiki. I don't need to be totally in-charge of things but if I had enough privileges to say edit and update the side bar, or delete redundant un-needed pages and what not I think that I could do this wiki a lot of good. Thank you for your support! But all I asked for was adminship and I do have it now. Thanks to Feauce promoting me. While I wouldn't mind being a Bureaucrat honestly I don't have enough knowledge of wiki mark up to really feel comfortable doing so. There's just a lot that I don't know how to do. Middle-earth (Closed) Edit

Searching for Middle Earth [2] I find there are numerous Wikias out there, which have it in their name, but either one article or zero articles at all upon them. Since Middle-earth is the proper name, I'd like to take over that one. http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Middle-Earth currently has nothing but a link to another Wikia, which has zero articles upon it. I believe all of J.R.R. Tolkien's works could be featured here, not just those from The Lord of the Rings, but things from other novels as well. Dream Focus 02:28, October 6, 2009 (UTC)

I know it says you should contribute to the wikia you wish to adopt, but my attempts to do so had problems. When editing at http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Middle-Earth it puts the new articles on the general Wikia instead! The information I was copying over and converting from pages deleted at the main Wikipedia, ended up placed here by mistake. Dream Focus 02:47, October 6, 2009 (UTC)
  • I have found that http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page is most complete and has the information I was seeking to preserve. I look at the other Wikia, and I'm curious who controls them. Someone should have a proper redirect to http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page instead of just another Wikia which has no articles on it. Who do I contact to fix that?     • You're right, the hfb.wikia project at Middle-Earth appeared to be an empty, abandoned LotR project; I've now closed it and redirected its directory page to The Lord of the Rings page.  And as you discovered, content doesn't belong on the Central Wikia at www.wikia.com, but on the individual wikis like lotr.wikia.com -- thanks for helping to correct the error.  We welcome your help at the LotR wiki -- it looks like there are several active admins and many users who would be glad to have new enthusiasts join them.  Good luck!  — Catherine@fandom (talk) 14:35, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

Forza wiki (Accepted) Edit

I'd like to request adoption of the Forza wiki. There have been no edits since May, 2009. I have been tidying up the general sections of the site, and have begun adding content to the wiki. I started by completing the track list page and have now begun to add individual pages for each of the tracks to include maps and brief information (3 complete so far). I'd like to get as much content on there as possible because Forza 3 is shipping this month so there will be a lot more info that will need to be added. My goal would be to create something similar to the Fallout wiki, in that it would be a central location for info on all of the games in the series.

The Cleveland Show (Accepted) Edit

I've been one of the main editors at the wiki since the page became active and currently have sysop rights. Anyways the user who has the bureaucrat rights has never returned after initially creating the wiki sometime ago and now i would like to grant a user or two some additional privileges so they can help contribute and keep the wiki running smoothly but I know i need bureaucrat rights for that so I was hoping it can be granted. Fairly Odd Parents Wiki  (Accepted)Edit

Hello, I am a frequent editor at the Fairly Odd Parents Wiki. Not long ago the original admins left and two users, CakeMistake and The Forgotten Beast were given admin status to replace them. Unfortunately nobody was given bureaucrat status, and the only bureaucrat is the founder of the Wiki who has not been active since October 2007 and has no recorded edits to the Wiki. I have talked to the only active admin (The Forgotten Beast) who alone cannot shoulder the load, there are possibly hundreds of pages that need to be moved or deleted and we have people vandalizing every day, plus the CSS code is a little outdated as well. He has agreed to make me and another user admin (my talk page) but nobody can hand out any staff positions without an active bureaucrat. I think that me and The Forgotten Beast should be granted bureaucrat status so that we can properly maintain this wiki. Beast has been an active admin the longest and seems the most familiar with the users and what vandals to look out for. I have a good understanding of the wiki framework and I've even been running a bot, which if I could also ask while I'm here if I could have my bot flagged as such?   • Is the wiki inactive?  - well i suppose, there are not many articles and the users do not seem to be contributing
  • Are you eligible to adopt? - yes i suppose i am. i have i think two or three wiki's at most but i am well equiped to manage these
  • Are you contributing to the wiki's content? - Yes, i have made a logo, a main page and an article. i like to get it looking good before i start
  • Are you building the community? - i believe Deadliest Warrior is a pretty cool show but as the community is basically 3 people i could definatley build it up.
