Finnish side of the Final Fantasy Wiki (approved)

Hi, my name is Tommi and I'm hoping to have the admin status on the Finnish side of the Final Fantasy Wiki site. The original admin did his last edit on an article in the year 2009. At this moment, there is no one else on the site editing except for one, whose work has unfortunately been very inadequate. So far I've done almost 80 edits and I'm looking to do new ones every day. I put a good amount of effort in my articles. If the Finnish Wiki site had an active, enthusiastic and serious admin, it might get other people to join writing and editing. Hello Kitty Wikia Admin Asking For Bureaucrat rights (not a request)

Hello I am an active admin of Hellokitty.wikia.com and I would really appreciate it if you would give me Bureaucrat rights to it. I have been constantly removing ads and spams of a fellow admins asking to follow them on twitter and stuff of that nature. I would like to Be able to revoke this admins rights. Adminship Request for Nintendo 3DS Wiki (approved)

The creator/admin of the wiki hasn't done an edit on since January, and since I like the Nintendo 3DS, I've decided to take it under my wing. So far, I've created lots of pages, added more photos, added categories, and am just trying to clean the website up so it looks presentable. However, I can't make it look as good as it can be without being able to change the wiki's color, logo, sidebars, etc., as well as change the name of images that have bad names. So thus, I, J. Hi. The wiki is not currently eligible for adoption because the admin last edited in mid-february. It will be April 16th before it is eligible for adoption. You can make a request here again at that time; please be sure you have contacted the other active editors about becoming an admin as well; as it is only a few users talk page messages might be easiest. UPDATE Withdrawing: Already admin/bureaucrat in the wiki - "Help is needed for merge into abandoned wiki, need admin/bureaucracy rights there" (resolved on wiki)

OK before I begin, I am the founder, admin and bureaucrat in the Maradan Chronicles, a Marapets related wiki. Marapedia is also a Marapets related wiki, except it's abandoned and it holds the Marapets name (which is gold when it comes to users finding out the information they need). I have been quite strong and have not left the Maradan Chronicles for any prolonged period of time. I also contributed to Marapedia whenever I had the chance, including the last edit to the homepage, reverting vandal attacks and requesting protection from VSTF due to homepage being vandalized too often. I am not sure how to begin with this, I do know I need to have contacted Wikia, except you do that AFTER you have been given Admin rights in the wiki to which you're merging into. In order for me to start moving content from the Maradan Chronicles into Marapedia I need to be able to move articles into it, thus need Admin rights.

I have outdone all the efforts to try to get in contact with the LAST bureaucrat in Marapedia, he/she had left a note briefly saying what their NEW username might be. I contacted him/her in the new user talk page and the person left a message with just the word Ok, which seems to be giving me the permission to merge the Maradan Chronicles into it. However, the new username DOES NOT have admin/bureaucracy rights. So I am perplexed. Should I contact wikia about this, or can I get the bureaucracy rights here; and then contact Wikia about the move when I am working on it? --Liliana (my talk). 07:41, March 29, 2011 (UTC)

I had not checked the logs and I just realized that the last bureaucrat has made me into an admin/bureaucrat in the wiki. I had been searching for "5 edits or more" when I looked for bureaucrats/sysops and that's the reason why I didn't see the admin/bureaucrat before. For that I am withdrawing the application. The Princess Bride Wiki (not an adoption request)

I am interested in eventually being considered an administrator of The Princess Bride Wiki http://princessbride.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Bride_Wiki

At the present time, I am ineligible for adoption because I have recently started some other Wikis, but as the administrator of The Princess Bride wiki (who is also the only other contributor) hasn't edited in over a year and a half, I'm wondering if I can make a request to at least remove the editing restriction on the main page. The main page has a "news" heading with news that is nearly two years out of date and it features the article of the month for May 2009. Furthermore it features an embedded YouTube video that is unplayable because the YouTube user has restricted embedding. I have added a number of articles and set up categories and internal links to make the Wiki more navegable, but I'm concerned that the main page will not be attractive to viewers since it is so out of date. I have tried to contact the administrator, but it appears that the administrator has been inactive for some time, and I have not received a reply.

Again, I'm not yet asking for administrative priviledges since I am not currently eligible, but if the editing restrictions can be removed from the main page then I can make the Wiki much more iniviting to visitors.

Hello!

I'm Pedro, and I would like to adopt this Wiki, where I'd like to have bureaucrat rights. Some time ago (January) I've asked to Gagapedia to make a portuguese version of the Wiki (they were opened for new languages), but then I discovered that there was one already started. That version had only 2 pages (the main page and one more) and the bureaucrat team's last activity was in 2008. The Wiki was pretty empty (the last edit was in its creation) and then I started to edit and create pages, but now I would like to make major changes and I need to be able to do it.

Also, there's an active user who made two edits two weeks ago, but he's not active anymore. Should I contact him about my request?

Hi, I would have contacted the admin of the site if i knew how to request admin rights, but since I do not know how, I am requesting it here. Now the main reason why I would like Admin right, is because the site lack maintenance, and there are a bunch of articles there that are blank and empty, with maybe a bit of spam and random letters. LEGO Message Boards Wiki (approved)

Hey, the LEGO Message Boards Wiki is a pretty active wiki for being the not-so-popular kind. There's about 5 people that edit it daily, but the problem is that the only admin went inactive about a year ago. I (Drew1200) and Legobatmankid10 would like to adopt it. (That does mean become admins, right? :P) Both Legobatmankid10, and I have talked with the other users about us being admins, and they accepeted it. Adopt the Archer Wiki (approved)

Hello,
There does not appear to be an active administrator or bureaucrat for the Archer Wiki on http://archer.wikia.com/wiki/Archer_Wiki - I am learning more and more about using Wikias every day, but I see there are more things that can be done. For example, I notice that the main toolbar could use some updating.

I would like to adopt the Archer wiki and become the administrator and bureaucrat if possible. It appears that the past administrator has only made 87 edits and has only contributed once in the past year. I have made almost 1,000 edits and almost doubled the page and image count (I don't have an exact count).

WikiSein Adoption Request (approved)

Hello. I would like to request an adoption of WikiSein. The wiki is abandoned, save for me and a few random unregistered contributors. I believe that if I could become bureaucrat, I could transform this good size wiki into a large wiki, and this wiki easily has the potential to have a massive community, as it was one of the biggest show of all time.

Fictional Species Wiki Adoption Request (resolved on wiki)

Hello, I'm dyga19. I've been the only editor at FicSpecies Wiki since March 20th or so. I've made many edits and created about 50 new pages so far. I figured since all the criteria have been met, I might as well take over.

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of someone who could help me redesign the layout and theme of the wiki? It is in desperate need of a makeover, and I have no idea how to apply or design customized skins.

Situation has been resolved. The founder, Kyoo Moo, has returned to the wiki, and promoted me to an admin as well. Looks like Fic Species Wiki is getting its' groove back!

GTA Wiki (closed)

Hi, I was wondering if I could adopt gta.wikia.com. The Wiki has been a standout source for information in relation to the GTA series for quite some time now and I do not want to see it go. There is still quite considerable activity but there are no Beuracrats or Admins there to tend to it anymore. I was wondering if you could give me Beuracrat access for this Wiki--I have made a number of edits there and it is such a shame to see such an informative Wiki going into such a state of vandelism.

Wiki seems to have inactive admins that haven't posted since 2009, since I cannot find a page to identify who all the admins are, then I assume no one is running it due to it's low standards. Bureaucrat Promotion Request (closed)

Hi, I am the most active admin on www.gta.wikia.com/ , and I would like to become the bureaucrat/manager of GTA Wiki, let me explain everything.

A month ago I requested on the community central adoption requests to become a bureaucrat on GTA Wiki, and it's answers site, www.gta.answers.wikia.com/ , however, the request is now archived, Wendy put my request on hold, she told me she can give me the rights only on the answers site but the Wiki is ineligible for adoption.

I insisted to become a bureaucrat, she told me to tell one of the admin(which are inactive now) or start a community discussion there, I did make a community discussion to become bureaucrat not an admin, here's a link: http://gta.wikia.com/User_blog:WikisEditor/Inactive_Bureaucrats , and the community agrred, when I told Wendy about it she gave me just the admin rights not bureaucrat's as the community vote was on bureaucrat rights. No, I know I deserve to become a bureaucrat, I made polices, a community noticeboard for users to vote for changes on the wiki, and because there is no staff around, so I am going to promote new active admins to help users, fight vandalism and spam, and other admin duties, I am going to need help enforcing the rules around here, and the way your making it is that you want me to do everything around here all by my own, as I am the only active admin, and when I need help I must contact Bola, which I have no guarantee that I'll find everytime when I need help, I want to promote alot of admins so that there would be 24/7 someone incharge, helping others, fighting vandalism and spam, just like how the huge communities do. And also I want to edit the MediaWiki tittle and description and add more keywords and give the wiki a pro look, and I've been keeping this wiki safe from vadalism. If I may hop in here and note a few things - admins aren't meant to be in charge per say, they're only meant to be trusted users with more buttons. The only two things that being a bureaucrat gives you is the ability to promote users to administrators, and immunity from being de-sysoped by another bureaucrat (staff have to remove bureaucrat rights). You also don't need an admin on the wiki at every hour of the day - if problems arise, users will likely step up and try to fix them. You don't really need to be a bureaucrat - and making you one could create problems for the staff later if users want to remove your rights. Rights are usually given out on an as-needed and an as-deserved basis. First of all, I know that admins shouldnot be incharge, if you saw my blog post about what I will do as a bureaucrat, you'll notice that I said the rules should and will be applied on admins too and that includes me.

I want to become a bureaucrat, so that I stop this chaos and get this wiki back up, and make this community a better place, I also said I'll promote more admins to help users, fight vandalism and collaborate with me on improving the wiki, the more there is admins the better the wiki becomes, I know that I shouldn't be incharged of a wiki, what I meant is I should give orders, add the policies that I find right for the wiki, and enforce the rules. The statement "I know that I shouldn't be incharge of a wiki, what I meant is I should gives orders" seems contradictory to me - if you aren't in charge, why are you giving orders?If you have ideas for other people who should be admins, you can pass the list on to Bola, and I'm sure he'd promote them for you. And even though you care about the wiki, that doesn't mean there won't be problems. For example, I recall one user who cared a lot about his wiki, but the editors of that wiki constantly changed their mind about what they wanted, and blamed him for not changing things to fit their temporary views. Wiki management is very complicated - for you, the contributors of your wiki, and for the staff when they're contacted. Hi WikisEditor, admins have as much control over the site layout as bureaucrats do, just as they have as much control over site content and user blocking. Style-wise, there's a lot you can change via Theme Designer or custom CSS. Everything else, you need to ask for via Special:Contact because it's a staff-only setting (like changing the Sitename). Bureaucrats don't have that access either.

We are not trying to insult you by making you an admin. We believe you will be a good and trustworthy leader. That is why you are the first and only person to get promoted since the wiki forked. This is an honor and a show of respect.

The only thing you're missing is the ability to promote people. We are delaying that privilege until we see how you lead, since we don't have much history on you, and this wiki is in a particularly sensitive situation. If you have suggestions, please send them to Bola. He supports you and is here to help.

Gran Turismo 5 Wiki (closed)

From what I can tell, prior to today, there was nothing really done with this wiki, I only know of it's existance because I tried to create it myself today. I would really like to get this wiki going strong so that it can provide all the information about the game in a central place rather than various forums and incomplete subsections of other wikis.

Nougami Neuro Wiki (approved)

Hi. I'd like to adopt the Nougami Neuro Wiki. I'm a fan of the series and I wish to clean up the Wiki. I'm about to clean up the front page, but I'm also planning on adding in chapter and episode synopses, as well as expanding on other articles relevant to the series in the long term, just like I did with other anime/manga-related Wikis I regularly edit at (eg Beelzebub and Nurarihyon no Mago). Kittynator told me that he doesn't want me to continue adding to this Wikia. Another time he put up a message on the main page telling everybody to not edit the HKO-Wikia but instead to go to the "official" updated Wiki http://wiki.hellokittyonline.com/index.php/Main_Page (not located on Wikia and not identical to the Wikia-version at all). Hello, I'm here to ask for adminship of the wikia of Kamen Rider Battle Ganbaridehere's the link. My main reason is because the editers of this wikia have left and have potentially forgotten it. I would like Bureaucrat and Admin rights by adopting this wiki. It is my first time working with wikia, but I think I could make something of it. However I am concerned about advertising it to my friends at the moment because there does not seem to be any active administration. Hello there. Its been quite a while ever since I joined the Sym-Bionic Titan Wikia and I've noticed that there are no admin's present. Theres numerous pages that don't need to be up and I'm kind of fed up with it. Theres no other way to delete it and i'm sure the admins are the only ones who can delete it. But that can't happen without them. I've also contributed a lot of images and edits so far to the site. Right now I have made about over 600 edits on this wikia and I'm very active. This seems to be a relatively desert wiki that deserves some contributions. Outside of the XDA-Wiki, there does not appear to be any general purpose Android wikis out there that are heavily updated, so I'd love to be able to have the opportunity to get this one working. I'm wondering if I can request that the particular restriction of "no admins/bureaucrats active for 60 days" be waived; my rationale for this request is specifically regarding the subject covered by the Android wiki - one that is fast-paced, where 60-days encompasses a very large time duration where information and interest can be immediately lost, resulting in a "make or break"-esque scenario for the Android wiki community. While I understand that these requests are generally tightly policy-bound, I have gone ahead and requested the rights on the aforementioned user's talk page. The admin was last active 6 days ago. While his editing is sporadic, it's not a case where he's been gone for a long time and the 60 day rule can be waived, as we're talking about less than a week. Until such a time when he's inactive or unresponsive to you, such as 30 days (May 10th), I can't really give you the rights through an adoption request. Sorry. I understand your explanation. The main issues that I want to deal with involve managing namespaces and protection/removal of protection on various pages. I think that having the basic fundamentals in place are important before anything gets done.

In their absenses, a ex-admin sent violent messages across the wiki, and other matters keep piling up as unregistered users have cluttered the site with articles that are poorly written or make absolutely no sense. (Unofficial Response) There appears to be a couple of other users currently active on that wiki. You'll need to setup a discussion with them on a talkpage/forum/blog and get their agreement for you to become bureaucrat. Post a link here to the discussion when you've had it.

Oh, I mean the "brink" is less editing in the wiki. Don't you see, since the day it found, there are not many user, I think just 4 users now, but they are not frequency logged in there, the activity are not often active! Their editing are so few! I don't know that when they logged in! The wiki need rise. I'm on my way creating templates, fix and correct them. I don't want it non-leader-sysop and isolated!

I agree that the wiki should be left as it is. If a new community wants to build it up, then they should be left to do so. However, if there is currently only one community and the wiki is forked; users should have a choice to either choose to work on the new wiki or stay with the wikia one. A link may be put up on the front page explaining what happened, but ultimately it should be left with the viewer/editor's choice. Although, from a community perspective it makes more sense to side with the older community since editors are more likely to stay with others who shared the same experience in that particular interest/hobby/game and are part of a greater scheme of the betterment of a wiki for allowing everyone to access information. Sometimes wikia policies don't work out for the best, and this causes problems for the current community. vegeance 01:07, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

@Auburn: the reason I asked is because we've made it very clear that Wikia wikis will not be archived or closed just because the community has forked. A fork wiki is made from copying the content to another location, but the original wiki still remains at Wikia and it will continue to remain at Wikia. If your intention is to archive the Wikia wiki in favor of the forked wiki, then that won't be allowed and it's best that you move on to the fork. Dead Frontier Wiki bureaucrat rights (approved)

Hi, I'm already an admin on the Dead Frontier Wiki and I would like to request additional bureaucrat rights. Since all the other admins (including the bureaucrats) are either inactive or edit only occasionally (once or twice a month), without responding to messages, I wouldn't want to risk the wiki having to endure another period of time without any active admins (in case I get hit by a bus or meteorite ;). • I have tried to start a community discussion about the wiki before I got my admin rights, but as I explained to Sarah Manley, even though the wiki is frequently edited, majority of these edits are one-time-only contributions, mostly done by anonymous users, so there is no actual wiki community on the Dead Frontier wiki. The only other contributor, with a history of sustained editing, that regularly keeps track of what's going on on the wiki is User:Insert Your Name Here who has given me his support on this matter. I've noticed that there is a lack of Beaurecrats on the "Infernopedia" (there's none (not even a sysop)) and the wiki its self is a mess, I went over there about 10 minutes ago and saw the state it was in and thought to myself "I could get this mess of a wiki into shape." Might and Magic wiki (resolved)

Hello, this is about the Might and Magic Wiki. I acted as bureaucrat and admin there for over a year in 2009-2010 but I chose to demote myself and abandon it when the Wikia skin was introduced, out of protest (but note that I did not vandalise or throw a tantrum). In light of the upcoming release of Heroes of Might and Magic VI, and considering that the series deserves better than the mess of a wiki that's left there, I've decided to reconsider and would like to re-adopt the site and continue building it up. I have 3500 edits there and a further 1500 at the Legacy of Kain wiki. I am sincere about this and am in a position to edit frequently. There are currently no active editors and the remaining bureaucrats have abandoned it. I'll describe the situation. We don't have administrator - our administrator has not been on Wikia since 1,5 year ago. Our Wikia is carried out by only two, three people. Third person is 1th of Aprol 2011, but since then we don't have contact with him. Besides us, no one want to lead Narnia Wiki.

I'm candidate for administrator. I think that I write good articles, which are good, exhaustive. I write everything - I'm doing linkas and i put all informations I find. My collaborators write short, un-exhaustive articles without linkas. And the base problem is graphics design of our Wikia. It's simple and poor. Look on English version of Narnia Wiki - it's better x 100. We need administrator to make our Wikia better!

It's there to stop people 'collecting' wikis apparently. That is, adopting them for the sake of have loads of wikis to their name. Dota 2 wiki (approved)

I would like to adopt the Dota 2 wiki. Dota 2 is currently an unreleased game and the wiki was set up shortly after the game was announced but the admin didn't add any of the content that was available at that time nor updated it in the six months that have followed since then. There are no other contributors to the wiki. Essentially it has been registered and then promptly abandoned.

Although information is still scarce I want to do a better job of preparing it to be a useful resource for information than it is currently including customizing the layout graphics as I did a few years ago for Atlantica Wiki back when Wikia ran on Monaco (since Monaco was removed it is today merely a husk of its former self).

Dragonaut Wiki Adoption Request (declined)

Hello, I was recently perusing various wiki's and was very disappointed to find the Dragonaut: The Resonance wiki in a state of utter disarray. There are less than a handful of active users from what I could see. Nearly all of the pages need reformatting, and additional content. In addition, the wiki could use a rehashed mainpage and webpage theme design. I have a ton of wiki experience/admin experience and as this manga/anime series is my second favorite of all time, feel obligated to request bureaucrat/adminship status and do everything I can to help this wiki out. Currently there are no admins and the founder is inactive which saddens me greatly; nevertheless, I intend to go through with my efforts to restore Dragonaut wiki whether my plea is heard or not. That said, you have also not made any content contributions, with the exception of snarky comments, to the pages that do exist, nor have you added any new content. Scream Franchise Wiki (declined)

I don't actually want to adopt that Wiki. However, there's only about two users who edit on there daily. I, would like to have some kind of Administrator right's for the Wiki, in order to clean up it. One of the users has been making fake pages, fake characters and fake story lines about Scream 5, when nothing what's so ever has been confirmed. Here is a link to proof, here. It says that the Scream Franchise will end at number four, so there for no actors or anything has been confirmed. Although, I've tried to tell the User, she keeps repeatedly makes the pages and making up different and fanon information and I'm a firm believer on keeping things strictly canon. I have added the "Candidates for Deletion" category to the pages that need deleting, however the bureaucrat of the Wiki hasn't edited since February and the administrator on there goes off for long periods. However, I've been editing there daily. I think I would be a good administrator to the site. Even though I've only been editing since July 2009, I have great editing skills and have almost 15, 000 edits on the Charmed Wiki. I've cleaned up pages on the Wiki, added photo's and made templates for different quotes. I have some skills in making Main Page's better. I redone the Charmed Wiki one and hopefully after I get permission to add more information to the Scream Wiki. Please take my adoption into consideration and please read my request carefully. But as I started to clean house and implement new rules that went against ridiculous fanfiction, the guy I ****** off because of said rules and had blocked for life, went and had me blocked for life. I was made the god damn head admin, now they've taken it away again. I want Blaid and Xerruy banned permantly from that wiki, he manages to keep coming back under ****** usernames! Then I want Blaid's bureacractic status revoked, so he can't take away all my administrative rights. I took back contorl of the fanfic wikia, so I'm in my rights to delete and clean up the site, and implement harsher rules against vandals or rabblerousers. DO SOMETHING, PLEASE!!!! I think what just happened on KHFF shows that more caution is required when allowing users to adopt Wikis. This guy abused his powers to block users he disliked and deleted hundreds of articles just because he didn't like them, it took me hours to restore the damage. He never should've been granted admin and bureaucrat rights. On a side note, calling "piss" swearing is a little excessive. Onverse Wiki (approved)

I'd like to adopt onverse.wikia.com. We've only had 1 admin, who created the wiki in August 2009 for a game named Onverse. He had computer problems unfortunately and we haven't heard back from him since December of 2009 (I believe). He also hasn't made any contributions to the wiki since around the same time.

Anyways, the wiki is active, probably more so now than ever. Unfortunately, we had a recent trolling problem and screwed up a few pages. While we can fix this, there is no way to ensure that he doesn't come back. This is the primary reason I am contacting you guys for a community adoption request.

I have been active in maintaining a few pages of the wiki (you can go back in the history for this page to see just how much), and although I don't contribute as much as I used to, I am an active member of Onverse (the game that the wiki was made for) and am very knowledgeable about Onverse. I assist other users in-game there and talk to pretty much all the users that are active in the wiki here, especially since Onverse is a small game and everyone pretty much knows everyone there.

I've never had any moderation issues on wiki, and I believe the only two wiki's I have been part of are lyrics.wikia.com and onverse.wikia.com. In addition, I've made 66 edits to the Onverse wiki (which is more than anyone else, see here), so I've been active there for quite some time. I also have created two pages on the wiki (see here and here), even though they weren't necessarily very successful.

So last, here's a conversation I started showing that a few others approve of the change! Let me know of anything else you need :O I think I hit everything you asked for...

Request for Metro 2033 Wiki adminship (approved)

Hi, I'm here to adopt, or ask for adminship for, the Metro 2033 wiki . The Metro 2033 wiki is based of the Metro 2033 universe, being the 2010 videogame and the many novels, and is currently doing sub-par in terms of article quality and number of members. I love game and I want to help the wiki in any way I can although all the admins appear to not be working on the wiki.I have had over 400 edits now (now the user with the 3rd most edits) and several page creations, trying to keep all info accurate and up to date, and have made a few attempts at establishing the current community, although there is only one other semi-regular editor. Dead Island Wiki (approved)

Hello. I am requesting to become an admin, or bureaucrat, on Dead Island Wiki. The only administrator has not edited for more then 60 days, though we still have some users. Two users and a Wikia staff member recommended I adopt the Wiki [3] [4]. Currently, the two users are the most (if not only) active users on the Wiki. I have created pages, fixed up some templates and have registered on Forums and other sites for the game to get all the latest news.

I do not have any lack of experience with managing a Wiki, especially on a community-growth level. I would appreciate bureaucrat rights, but can work with only admin rights.

SpongeBob Fan Wiki (needs to be resolved elsewhere)

Excuse me, but we need to adopt this wiki again. Reason is:

• Many useless articles, half the wiki is spam
• Many spammers and trolls
• The last admin quit, no admins active at all
• Many other people are quitting because of spam, we need them back again

Reason I should adopt this wiki is:

• I have been an administrator there, I have experience
• 777 edits adds up to a really active member
• I have been here since December 2009, I know my way around quuite well

Good day to you folks.

I would really like to adopt the Death Note wiki and breathe some life into it.I've been editing and trying to spell check articles.At the moment it is difficult to improve it without admin powers(I can't delete double articles and vandalism).I also plan to contact admins of the Naruto/Bleach wiki for advice and help.
