Community Central:Adoption requests

 This page is where you can request administrator and/or bureaucrat rights on communities without an active admin and/or bureaucrat team. Before you post your request, please make sure you are active on the wiki and that you meet the guidelines listed below.

Following a successful adoption, you will receive administrator rights for 30 days. After this period, please reapply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat user rights with the "extend permissions" forum. A Wiki Representative will review your request, which will be determined based on activity and rights usage.

Please allow up to one week (7 business days) for a response to your adoption request. Requests are generally — but not always — reviewed in the order they were received.

We look forward to having you adopt one of our communities!

Guidelines

You can adopt a wiki if...

The admins/bureaucrats have been inactive (not editing or engaging with the wiki) for at least 60 days. You haven't gained rights or created another wiki in the past 60 days. You are not blocked in another Fandom wiki. You are contributing to the wiki regularly, and your interest in it is both current and active. This includes: Editing content pages on the wiki each day for at least a consecutive week prior to the time that your application is submitted. (Editing images, categories, or Discussion posts may not count, as we need to see that you have some command of the subject of the wiki.) You have created at least one new page in the main namespace (the more the better). Your edits are in good faith, and using the correct language for the wiki (i.e.: English for English wikis). You make an effort to talk to other users, such as leaving friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responding to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updating news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. The wiki is not considered as a duplicate (a wiki about the exact same topic already covered by another, usually larger and more active wiki).

You cannot adopt a wiki if...

There are admins actively editing the wiki. You became an admin or created a new wiki in the past 60 days. You are blocked in another Fandom wiki. You haven't been contributing to the wiki's content pages for at least a consecutive week. The community is considered as a duplicate of a larger and more active wiki. The wiki is not eligible for adoption for another reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Fandom-branded wikis (such as Community Central, SOAP Wiki, etc.) Personal or sandbox wikis. Wikis with a topic that is exceedingly obscure, and page view statistics suggest a very small audience. As explained in our Community Creation Policy, we may even fully close such wikis.

Other cases and notes

Before you submit a request If the wiki has a Wiki Representative, you should contact them regarding elevated rights instead of proceeding with an adoption request. (Wiki Reps are listed in the wiki's Special:Community page.) You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind. Active communities If there are no admins, but other users are very active, you would need to reach out to the users (if it's one or two) or to the whole community with a public discussion to ask if they agree with your adoption. You should provide a link to this discussion in your request. The discussion needs to be in the wiki (a discussion or blog post, not Discord or another site). Polls are not accepted as a way of voting. Users must have at least one week to respond. Requests typically are successful if the response is positive, or if no one answers. If you're already an admin and want to request the bureaucrat role, all you need is approval from the other active admins. Existing admin/bureaucrat rights may only be directly removed if the users have been inactive for more than one year. Blocks If you are blocked in another wiki, you could try to appeal and have the block lifted to be able to request an adoption. However, if you think the block is completely unfair (such as in cases of abuse of admin rights), you could mention this in your request. We also recommend checking how blocks should be appealed for advice. Applying for permanent rights After applying for temporary adoption, users may apply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat rights here. For the next 30 days, please make sure you are consistently active and appropriately using your new user rights. Failure to do so will result in your request for permanent rights to be declined. The 60 day limit for adoptions only applies to your initial temporary adoption. The clock will not reset when you receive permanent rights.

Hi, my name is Jessie1010! SCherry08 was trying to adopt the Madison High wiki. She said could no longer adopt it so she has asked me to adopt it. I would definitely like to adopt the Madison High Wiki! This wiki has been abandoned by the founder. It needs a lot of help and a lot of things need to be added and pages need to be deleted and only an admin or a bureaucrat can do that. Can you please let me adopt this wiki? It needs a lot of help. I have made over 2 pages and have done many edits on it. Can you please help this wiki by letting me adopt it? It really needs to be edited. The founder hasn't edited it in a very long time. Eclipse Wiki (approved)

The current administrator of the Eclipse Wiki ([1]) has been away for several months, and we don't expect him to return part-time until September, and full-time not at all. The current staff at Eclipse would like to adopt the wiki so we can gain admin rights and begin sprucing it up. Just wanted to give an update on things here. I've updated some old articles, created several new ones, created a few new infoboxes, and added more photos and logos. I hope to update the layout of the wiki as well, and once my fellow Eclipse staff and I are happy with the look we'll initiate a plan we've built to get our members to update on the wiki as well. Apple Wiki (closed)

Hi, I would like to adopt thePage Apple Wiki. For the following reasons

1) Inactive

2) Lots of spam, vandalism, rude language,

3) A small community, could be a lot larger

4) I've made helpful contributions, such as fixing the "delete" template and organizing pages into better categories.

5) I'll be active on it, and able to get a good admin team and rollback group in place.

I know I haven't made a lot of edits on it, but if I get admin, bur status I'll use the best of my ability to help it out.

The Clone Wars Wiki (resolved on wiki)

I would like to gain bureaucrat rights for The Clone Wars Wiki. I already have sysop privalages but I would really like bureacrat privalages so that I can make more users administrators. It is troublesome being a lone admin especially when users make an overflow of edits at one time, productive or counter-productive. It will especially be more troublesome for me because, recently, a user requested for me to put the wiki on spotlight and I am not ready to handle a possible overflow of edits alone.

I realize that I do not meet the requirement "admins have been inactive for sixty days" but the last bureaucrat, Unit 519, has not made an edit since July 23, 2011. Judging from requests and messages past users have sent, he also does not seem to respond to any messages left on his talk page. Request: Un-Club Penguin Wiki (on hold)

Hello. I would like to apply for administrator/bureaucrat rights on the Un-Club Penguin Wiki. I edited 100 times in one day, cleaning up vandalism and spam. The community has moved to humor.clubpenguinwiki.info

Though the admins come every few week, they are not necessarily active. I just want to be able to block bad users and restore the wiki to its former glory.

You don't need to adopt it. It's moved to a new wiki. there is no point of having two of the same wikis but on different sites. The new wiki is more active than the old one. Hello, my name is Mike. I would like to adopt hon.wikia.com. I enjoy the computer game 'Heroes of Newerth" and wanted to start a wikia on it. I found that hon.wikia.com was already taken by someone who did not even spell the title correctly and so was aboandoned a long time ago.   • I have discussed with JRCS and we have agreed that I should be the Bureaucrat, because if I become a bureaucrat I will make him one, too. Blur (on hold)

Can I get admin rights to Blur? I'd like to update the look and add information on upgrades and tracks, but a lot of the pages are protected. No admin has logged on in half a year, and the last edits before mine are a few months old, as far as I can tell. --Ndavidow 06:41, September 13, 2011 (UTC)

Syndicate Wiki (approved)

I would like to adopt syndicate.wikia.com. As you can see it hasn't been edited in over a year, and consists only of generic templates and a handful of blank pages created by the creator and the Default user (the only two registered users). I have purposefully refrained from editing it because it is apparently supposed to be about some trading card game, but I would like to turn it in a wiki worthy of the Syndicate video game series, a new title of which was announced recently. If you grant this request please could you also reset the wiki somehow so it can start afresh?

MapleStory Adventures Wiki (approved)

Hello,

The admins (including the founder) from theMapleStory Adventures Wiki are inactive since June 19. Me, and another active member, 5Celcious , think its about time someone else should become admin as well. Certain pages are locked, wich need editing. This is particulary frustrating, but also there isn't really any navigation to the most important pages AT ALL. This means visitors wont be able to understand where to go, to find the information they seek.

This is why I request to adopt the MapleStory Adventures Wiki.

• I have been very busy working on another site. It does not appear that the adoption will take place. For future reference, it would be more secure to have a Trial Admin option available for wikis with eligible status. This would deter existing admins from filing vandalizing claims against prospective admins. I have seen too many editing disputes due to insufficient authorization. It would not be a safe bet to pursue without appropriate security measures intact.

You will find that many different people edit this Wikia. I am personally very active in the chat room and can be vouched for by many, many people there. I was active in the formation of this Wikia page a while back and, as you can see on the page itself, am one of the original members of "The Four Horsemen". We took the protection of this chat, and wikia, into our own hands without any benefit besides keeping the peace and sanity.

Recently I was blocked by Brandon Rhea for 1 (one) week. In my opinion this is entirely due to a misunderstanding. A commonly known troll from our chatroom had his username and a commentary/editorial written about him on the Eggy Wikia page. This person then proceeded to report us for doing so and Brandon (he has 13 edits now. Obviously not a power user or anything) instantly cited personal information and reverted the posts. I changed them back and let him know on his page. I was then blocked. Brandon has continued to post on my personal page over and over again, though I try to revert. I consider this harassment and have since reported him to Wikia staff. I hope this does not affect my attempt to keep peace on the Eggy page.

Should you require any additional information I'd be happy to oblige. It's plan to see that I'm an intelligent and competent individual who has genuine care for this Wikia and our chatroom in mind. The Wikia is easily, and often, vandalized so I see it fit for someone INVOLVED with the "scene" (if you will) to be able to do something about it. I don't require or request admin rights for ANY other pages. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Just to note, I haven't been banned on any wiki activities and I am an admin of a wiki, which I have been since April. The last edit the founder of the wiki made was over a year ago, so its obvious no admin watches this wiki. I myself added a page and uploaded a pic, so I've contributed (for the better). The last edit on the wiki not by me was on June, so activity is rare. I probably wouldn't be able to get a hold of any of the users due to how inactive they are. Entourage Wiki

Hello,

I'd like to adopt the Entourage wiki, and even though I only began editing it very recently, I know I can make a big difference and help the wiki grow and become its best.

Already I've added a category page for the new season that premiered this summer, added new articles, updated articles, and I plan to update more articles. Although I have minimal edits to that wiki at the moment, I have over 650 edits combined on all the wikis I've contributed to over the past 2 months, so I have experience and ambition. I know that I can update, and modernize, if you will, the wiki and bring it up to speed with the current ongoings of everything Entourage. Lastly, two of the three administrators of the Entourage wiki haven't edited in 2 years, and the other sysop hasn't edited since July, and I feel I can be active daily, contribute regularly, and get the wiki back on track with new ideas and help attract more active users.
