Community Central:Adoption requests

This page is where you can request administrator and/or bureaucrat rights on communities without an active admin and/or bureaucrat team. Before you post your request, please make sure you are active on the wiki and that you meet the guidelines listed below.

Following a successful adoption, you will receive administrator rights for 30 days. After this period, please reapply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat user rights with the "extend permissions" forum. A Wiki Representative will review your request, which will be determined based on activity and rights usage.

Please allow up to one week (7 business days) for a response to your adoption request. Requests are generally — but not always — reviewed in the order they were received.

We look forward to having you adopt one of our communities!

Guidelines

You can adopt a wiki if...

The admins/bureaucrats have been inactive (not editing or engaging with the wiki) for at least 60 days. You haven't gained rights or created another wiki in the past 60 days. You are not blocked in another Fandom wiki. You are contributing to the wiki regularly, and your interest in it is both current and active. This includes: Editing content pages on the wiki each day for at least a consecutive week prior to the time that your application is submitted. (Editing images, categories, or Discussion posts may not count, as we need to see that you have some command of the subject of the wiki.) You have created at least one new page in the main namespace (the more the better). Your edits are in good faith, and using the correct language for the wiki (i.e.: English for English wikis). You make an effort to talk to other users, such as leaving friendly and encouraging messages on user talk pages and responding to questions on article talk pages, forums, or blogs. You keep the wiki looking well-tended and up to date -- updating news sections, add new pictures and videos related to the topic, etc. The wiki is not considered as a duplicate (a wiki about the exact same topic already covered by another, usually larger and more active wiki).

You cannot adopt a wiki if...

There are admins actively editing the wiki. You became an admin or created a new wiki in the past 60 days. You are blocked in another Fandom wiki. You haven't been contributing to the wiki's content pages for at least a consecutive week. The community is considered as a duplicate of a larger and more active wiki. The wiki is not eligible for adoption for another reason. This includes, but is not limited to: Fandom-branded wikis (such as Community Central, SOAP Wiki, etc.) Personal or sandbox wikis. Wikis with a topic that is exceedingly obscure, and page view statistics suggest a very small audience. As explained in our Community Creation Policy, we may even fully close such wikis.

Other cases and notes

Before you submit a request If the wiki has a Wiki Representative, you should contact them regarding elevated rights instead of proceeding with an adoption request. (Wiki Reps are listed in the wiki's Special:Community page.) You may apply to adopt a wiki bearing the Official Wiki logo, but adoption of these wikis is done at Fandom's sole discretion and may not follow the rules set forth here. You are allowed to submit only one adoption request per 24 hour period. Please keep this in mind. Active communities If there are no admins, but other users are very active, you would need to reach out to the users (if it's one or two) or to the whole community with a public discussion to ask if they agree with your adoption. You should provide a link to this discussion in your request. The discussion needs to be in the wiki (a discussion or blog post, not Discord or another site). Polls are not accepted as a way of voting. Users must have at least one week to respond. Requests typically are successful if the response is positive, or if no one answers. If you're already an admin and want to request the bureaucrat role, all you need is approval from the other active admins. Existing admin/bureaucrat rights may only be directly removed if the users have been inactive for more than one year. Blocks If you are blocked in another wiki, you could try to appeal and have the block lifted to be able to request an adoption. However, if you think the block is completely unfair (such as in cases of abuse of admin rights), you could mention this in your request. We also recommend checking how blocks should be appealed for advice. Applying for permanent rights After applying for temporary adoption, users may apply for permanent administrator and bureaucrat rights here. For the next 30 days, please make sure you are consistently active and appropriately using your new user rights. Failure to do so will result in your request for permanent rights to be declined. The 60 day limit for adoptions only applies to your initial temporary adoption. The clock will not reset when you receive permanent rights.

Hi. The Bakuman Wiki is not eligible for adoption at this time; the bureaucrat, User:Cococrash11 last edited in mid-October, and the sysop last edited a week ago. The earliest the wiki will be eligible for adoption here would be around January 5th, assuming neither user edits further. Gunslinger Girl Wiki adoption request (on hold)

On Sxerk's recommendation, I'd like to adopt the Gunslinger Girl Wiki. The current admin hasn't been active for about seven months, leaving the three current contributors on their own, and the site without a developed mainpage or Oasis interface. It also uses a lot of unoriginal Wikipedia text, and features very little multimedia. I took over the Appleseed Wiki in a similar state in April, and completely overhauled it, adding embedded music, video, 130+ images, 40 articles, and logging 530+ edits. Check it out so you can see what my work looks like.

Personally, I own the entire Gunslinger Girl manga series and both anime seasons, so I'm quite familiar with the topic. I'd love to promote this wiki, with an aim of getting it Spotlighted early next year when it's better developed, working with the three contributors to expand the content in the meantime.

Hey Brandon, just checking in regarding my adoption request for the Gunslinger Girl wiki. Since we last spoke, I've done 22 edits, and added three new pages, which feature original text. I've also added official wallpaper images from the series' author, and prepped a background texture for the new Oasis interface designed for the site. Iwould like to adopt the Nintendo Wiki because i use all my wiki time here. i have made many edits and have been with them over a year and a half. and am on good terms with the founder. the founder and admins do conntribute but rarely intereact with others anymore ad the founder as hardly been editing for the last month. also at one time i had to contact the spam task force to block vandals as i had no way to block them as i have no admin powers and no admins were present. so can i adopt nintendo.wikia.com? Android Wiki (approved)

Hi! I recently discovered the Android Wiki and have started to make edits. Apart from myself, there has been only been 1 edit (on Android Wiki:Talk) in a year, and some vital pages such as Template pages and the Main Page are unprotected. The Administrator of the wiki has disappeared off Wikia (the user doesn't show up in the Sysop user list anymore), and I feel that I could give a lot to the wiki. Team America: World Police (approved)

Hi, I would like to adopt the Team America wikia as there have been no edits on it for several months and the admin has left a long time ago and not done a lot with it. I want to adopt this wikia because I am a big fan of the film and wish to improve the wikia by adding a lot more detailed information. I have already begun editing pages and adding pictures and I plan on making this wikia far more detailed. The wikia is not well layed out either, making it difficult for users to find pages which is why I need to be an admin so I can make the wikia a lot more simpler for users to navigate their way around the site. Elements the Game wiki (approved)

I'd like to adopt Elements the Game Wiki. Our admins have long gone since a big part of the community moved to another wiki.

There are two main reasons why I'd like to be an admin:

• Main page is deleted from time to time (a single link is inserted advertising the another wiki along with a message saying this wiki is outdated) - see also the talk page of the main page. By being an admin I could rollback such vandalism easily.
• I could remove the redundant versions of uploaded images that have been created due to the annoying new-image-version-upload-without-refreshing-the-image-bug.

I have already edited/created hundreds of pages and a few templates. I hope this is a good reference. :)

Greek Mythology Wiki (approved)

I found Greek Mythology Wiki a few weeks ago, and was sad to find it hadn't been edited in about two months when I started editing. I have not founded any wikis in the past 60 days, nor have I gained admin rights nor been blocked. I am currently telling a few users on different wikis about the wiki. I'd been caught up in school for a few weeks, so I haven't edited in about two weeks, but have started editing again. I am close to becoming top editor, according to the widget. John Carter of Mars/Barsoom (closed)

I wish to adopt the john carter of mars wiki, also known as the barsoom wiki http://barsoom.wikia.com/wiki/Special:MyHome although the franchise has failed to have significant popularity in the last 98 years (to date having only one movie) in spite of its heavy influence in science fiction. I foresee a rise in popularity with the series because of the future john carter of mars film (curtesy of disney) and the current "warlord of mars" comic series (from dynamite entertainment) i feel that the series may see success in the near future, and thus the wikia website that has already been established is in need of administration. I hope that my request is considered, and before the subject is brought up i am fully aware of my ban on the mass effect wiki (the third such ban I have received on the site, mostly stemming from clashes with sparthawg) and my previous ban on the star wars wiki (ban stemmed from misunderstanding, resolved) ralok 11:45, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Just to clear something up here, having been made aware of this situation by the founder of the Barsoom Wiki (who would seem, through his involvement in this, to be plenty active). Ralok's bans on the Mass Effect Wiki were not "mostly stemming from clashes with sparthawg". Two of the three bans were imposed without my foreknowledge by another admin, Tullis. While I was not aware of her intent to ban Ralok beforehand, she laid out a clear case for the bans, and I fully support her actions. The third ban was enacted by me, but was the culmination of a long, long history of poor behavior, which I would prefer not to elaborate on in polite conversation. I was asked for input into this matter by the Founder of the Barsoom Wiki, and due diligence required that I dig a bit further. A conversation posted in an extremely public venue such as this cannot be described as "private". I was simply expressing my opinion, the same as you were. Nor was I "stalking" you. I, for example, don't feel the need to keep an eye on your talk page, while you seem to be attracted to mine. Barsoom is (if I understand Wikia standards correctly) active on the Barsoom wiki, which is what counts, not what appears in your mind. Not once have I stated here that you should not be allowed to adopt the Barsoom wiki. If asked, I would offer my opinion, but no one here has asked me. You simply misrepresented the events that occurred on the Mass Effect Wiki, bringing me specifically into it. As such, I felt the need to clear the matter up. Nor did I act like you "did something wrong" in asking to adopt the site. Merely that the your active ban (and the past bans) on the ME Wiki were completely justified. Nothing more. Hi. Because of the problems that arose here, and because of the requestors last comment, I'm closing this request. One thing I encourage everyone to keep in mind is the basic wiki policy of "assume good faith." Don't assume that people have ill intent. Additionally, in reference to the last comment, please remember that wikis can only be adopted if the administrator has been inactive for 60 days or more. Wikis need active administrators to help care for them, so, if 60 days go by, it's assumed that the administrator is no longer available to keep an eye on the wiki—hence adoption requests. Sega Wiki (on hold)

Two years ago, I used to be a regular editor of the Sega Wikia. But I left because of a lack of time. Now, I've been checking the wiki every now and then, and it has become worse than ever before.

The first administrator, Wikada, left it, probably because of the lack of contributors. JohnnyLightning became administrator, but he made a mess there. He placed a large flashy ad for his own wiki on the home page, that he also vandalized by saying "he quit". At the moment, JohnnyLightning has been gone for two months, and I've begun cleaning up some of his mess. The wiki still isn't updated for the new skin, and there are almost no regular contributors.

If you can appoint me as a new administrator, my first priority will be updating the color scheme of the new oasis skin, so that it resembles the blue of the previous generations of skins Sega Wiki has used.

Hi there. A little while ago I discovered http://hellblazer.wikia.com, which was empty save for a slightly altered opening page and a title image in the top-left corner. I decided to go about updating it. I've since added hundreds of pages and dozens of categories as a framework for the wiki and will go about updating the front page and promoting it once there's enough content on there to get people engaged in it. I would like to adopt Sora no Otoshimono wiki since the admin has been inactive for more than 60 days. Most of the articles are totaly empty (I have been trying to fix that and have currently added a page + "finished" an article, that was completely empty. I am also adding pictures.

I havent been blocked on another Wikia project. I usually have a lot of time. I am also very friendly.

Degrassi Wiki Adminship (closed)

Hello! On the Degrassi Wiki, we only have one admin that has edited pages recently, and they have announced that they are leaving. We need someone to delete comments on certain pages, such as homophobic remarks. In addition, we need an admin to block people that are posting links to porn sites, and putting nude photographs of celebrities on pages. Hello. In the Wicked Wiki, we only have one admin that I am aware of, and he hasn't made any contributions since July 7th, and little to no contributions to actual character pages. I am working on creating better lyric templates and drawing new contributors to the site, as well as improving the quality of the character and actor pages. Agent Z, I checked the Special:ListUsers/sysop and all of the admins seems to be active. You adopt a wiki when the admins is inavtive, but if you want adminship, work hard for it and maybe one of the wiki's bureaucrats might promote you there. Haunting Ground Wiki (accepted)

I was wondering if I could adopt the | Haunting Ground Wiki . The current admin has not been active some months and the edits they did were very rare, they also appeared to upload irrelevant pictures of socks. I've noticed, not a lot of information is upon the Arc Rise Fantasia wikia, so I'd like to help out with adding information and encouraging others to do so as well. Hello, I'm Tshering Username Finchelfanno1, the Glee Wiki has been vandalised a lot lately by many people mainly anonymous people. They delete the content and leave rude and insensitive comments. I've been using this wiki since 3rd October. Atlus Wikia Adoption (approved)

I would like to post a request for adoption of admin rights for the Atlus wikia, located at http://atlus.wikia.com. There has been no activity since late May of 2010, from the looks of it, aside from the articles created by myself over the past week or so. I have added categories for the various systems needed, along with around 10 different placeholder pages for various titles, with much more work needed in the meantime, as there are over 150 different titles that need to be listed in the games listing. I know that although I do not have the formatting knowledge, I do have the knowledge required for the site. Plus, I can always learn the formatting along the way. Alliance of Valiant Arms wiki (approved)

To Wikia,

I respectfully request that I be granted Bureaucrat status on the Alliance of Valiant Arms Wiki. I do not visit often as I formerly believed that the wiki could take care of itself, but now I do not believe this is true. One reason is that the one Bureacrat and Administrator has not been online in over 3 months. Another reason is that since there isn't an Administrator to protect the articles, unregistered users, specifically vandals, have been removing content from the pages and replacing it with nonsense and gibberish. In addition, the articles are in poor shape, with no real template to work off of, like the Combat Arms wiki, which I frequently edit. Seeing articles in such a degraded condition compels me to act and improve the condition of the wiki. Again, I respectfully request that I be made a bureaucrat of the Alliance of Valiant Arms wiki, so that I can keep it from falling apart and so that I can make it far better and the best that it can be.

Adoption of the Supernatural Wiki (on hold)

I am a fairly new, but active member of the Supernatural wiki, and I've got a few things I'd like to contribute, and swear to keep my word.

The first thing I'd like to contribute is giving it a new look. I think now of all times seems to be quite a perfect time for revamping the wiki's blank standard look. I specialize in making designs for the skin and themes of sites like these, and I'd like to change things up a bit with this wiki.

I'd also like to keep the information up to date and informative, without anything too spoiler-ish.

I've attemped to contact the last active Admin, or even bring the idea around to an active, but nobody's responding, and yet I've got a lot of good ideas I'd like to contribute to this Wiki. So I would like to take on the role of developing the Supernatural wiki further. Many thanks.

TimeSplitters Wiki (approved)

I'm looking to adopt the TimeSplitters Wiki. The Wiki is inactive, with no sustained editing from other users and none of the admins have logged in since August of this year. I've, as of this moment, made 60 edits to the Wiki, but by the time this request is seen to, I should've made at least 100. Right now, I'm just fixing up grammar and formatting pages, but I am planning to restructure articles and create new/fix up old templates soon. The main reason I'm looking to gain Bureaucrat/Sysop rights is so I can customize the Wiki's New Look using the Theme Designer and a wordmark that I'm working on right now. I haven't been given Sysop rights anywhere else recently, have not been blocked on any Wiki and have shown (and continue to show) sustained editing before on the Final Fantasy and Heavy Rain wikis. Templates Wiki (approved)

Since this appears to be the only way I'll be likely to be able to get an ill-advised page move reverted, I'd like to adopt the Templates Wiki. The only local bureaucrat, Kirkburn, has not responded to my request to be made an admin there (a request I made in August), and the only other local admin, Fandyllic, has stated that the new Wikia skin has encouraged him to more-or-less stop editing on Wikia. The wiki itself, due to its highly technical and out-of-the-way nature, has never really attracted any kind of sustained community or editing, and its nature as a repository of templates as opposed to a general information source as is more typical of most wikis isn't particularly conducive to the future formation of such a community.

Hi. To answer your second question first, you can only adopt 1 wiki every 60 days, so you would need to decide which of the two you want to adopt. About your Templates Wiki request, we can grant you the rights, but you would have to talk to Fandyllic about it since he's still been active recently. This wiki has barely been edited for quite a while; the founder and the other administrator have both been inactive for three years. There have been 12 non-me edits within the past month. I have been given administrator/bureaucrat access on WPTCG, but I think that I am still eligible, because that particular wikia is only being used to store images for a trading card game that is being made for the English Wikipedia here. I was given administrator/bureaucrat access as a joke; I doubt that I would ever use them there. I would not have a problem with that. That wiki isn't really a wiki, however; we are only using it to store images for something on Wikipedia that need to stay copyrighted. It wasn't a serious adminship that was given to me. I would like to be able to keep them, just for humor's sake, but if if it is necessary that I get rid of them, I shall do so. Nintendogs Wiki Adoption Request (approved)

May I have administrator/bureacrat right on the Nintendogs Wiki? According to its statistics page there is absolutely no activity on this wiki. The wiki's current admin/bureacrat has not logged in since February 13, 2008. His last edit was one day later. That's 33 months! Due to the admin's negligence, the wiki has declined and is no longer up-to-date. Two attempts to communicate with the admin have failed; the admin has clearly given up on this project.

I have neither adopted a wikia nor created a wikia in the last 60 days. I have never been blocked on a Wikia project either. I have made several small edits to the wiki - spelling errors, grammar, parallel structure, and aesthetic adjustments. I have also increased the interlinking between wiki pages. Please check this page to get a better understanding of how I am improving the wiki. If you compare its current appearance to its previous appearance, you will notice that it is now more "wiki-like. It links to other articles, and the grammar is proper. I have been pressing the "Random Page" button on the wiki and improving articles as I see fit. Yes, most of my edits are minor, but it is hard to ignore the affect they have on a wiki's image.

Furthermore, I have taken steps to keep the wiki up-to-date. I have cleaned up the main page and added a news section. The section links to two articles I created - "Nintendogs + Cats" and "Nintendo 3DS". Both these subjects are a major part of the franchise's future, and their prior absences show how little maintenance occurs on the Nintendogs Wiki.

If I were to become the admin, I would improve the main page, expand the content, and rebuild the community. I have considerable wiki skills and wiki experience. I understand the source code, and I can create templates, boxes, and font customizations among other things. I really think this series is one of the greatest on the Nintendo DS, and it's a shame that its wiki been diminished to its current state. Please consider giving me admin/bureacratic rights on the wiki. Thank you for your time!

I will be very active here (Gun Wiki) and update many of the planed activities that are languishing due to wiki inactivity (May of 2007) by former administrators. I would like to bring back the article of the month and user of the month. I would also like to go through every article and check them for accuracy , spam and plagiarism. Full cut and paste of Wikipedia articles is a problem here. I intend on expanding the definition of what a “gun” and “firearm” is to better represent the known definition of a gun and firearm. This is to be more inclusive of wiki users that may have felt left out. Also, it is time that Awards are given to the few active members here for their loyalty and civility.

• Yes, there are the occasional logged-in users, but not many, and they usually do not log in often. Mostly, it's just some vandalizing IP addresses.
• Neither admin has edited for over 60 days.
• I have not founded, and I have not been promoted on a wiki in a very long time.
• I have never been blocked on any Wikia project, and I don't plan to get banned anytime soon.
• On this wiki, I have made several edits, as well as creating an article.
• I talked to some IPs about making accounts, yes.

Logo Creation wiki appears to have no bureaucrat and I'm the only admin. Not sure how it happened, since there doesn't seem to be anything in the publicly available logs that shows when this happened.

Well, I should put down reasons why I should have this wiki. Like I already said, there are only two active users besides myself. I've created several articles, cleaned up most of the pages, and the articles I created are much cleaner that others. I feel I could help the wiki, even though I only have a few edits. However with those few edits I've helped the wiki grow quite a bit. I'm also admin on SFW (or soon will be. I won in voting). Hello, I am Tatooine an experienced Wikia Editor for more than 7 months now, and with over 2,000+ edits on various Wikis; I feel Im eligible to have Administrator rights on this Lego Customs Wiki Wiki. The person who started the wiki back in May, 22 of this year was Tahu97. Unfortunately, he left the wiki and began on other various projects if I am not mistaken. I have tried contacting him on various wikis, but there was no response. I feel there is great potential in Lego Customs Wiki; and I feel it is my duty to have Administrator rights on Lego Customs Wiki. So far on lego customs Wiki, I have created a few pages, created a variety of templates, and drastically edited the mainpage. I am not asking to adopt the Wiki, all I want is Administrator rights, so I may fight vandalism, and destroy spam pages. Ed, Edd N' Eddy Wiki Adminship Request

I am DogDays124, and I would like to be an admin there. I have a lot of experience with wikis. I am an admin on the Johnny Test fanon and canon wiki. I also pay attention in school, so I have good grammar. So far on the Ed, Edd N' Eddy Z Wiki, I have made two pages. But that's because I've just joined recently. The current admin there hasn't been active. I would also like the user Avatar Eddy to be an admin. He has edited the main page and some of the episodes, so now they look better, he's also been there longer than I have.
