All Wikia text is available for easy download. Please see the relevant licence for the terms under which this content may be used. Typically, Wikia sites are available under a Creative Commons License (see Wikia Licensing) but this can vary for each wiki.

Each wiki's content database is available as an XML dump. This does not include private user data or images.

Wikia makes internal backups of all databases continuously on multiple servers in multiple locations. If you want an extra backup of your content, you are welcome to download an XML version database.

To access the download, go to the Special:Statistics page for the wiki.

For example, for the Muppet wiki, you would go to http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Statistics

The public database downloads are no longer generated weekly automatically due to server load, and how little they are accessed now with newer ways to pragmatically access the site such as the MediaWiki API. Instead, a button is located near the download link. Clicking this button files a request to have the public XML dump updated. These requests are processed during off peak hours, and usually cleared out weekly. Once the request is processed, the date on the page will update. The button can be pressed once per 7 day period.

The last update times mentioned on the page will attempt to honor your user preferences to timezone and datetime formatting. If you are not logged in, the timezone displayed will be UTC.
