Are these footers still being updated?[]

Hello FANDOM staff.

I made a submission for a site almost two months ago and there doesn't seem to have been any revisions in all that time. Are these footers still updated?

The page says that revisions are made every Friday. On the instructions, it also says that "roughly every six months all sites submitted to the footer program are re-evaluated"; does that mean that any accepted submissions will only be added to their respective footers once that period of time has passed, or only if all sites already in the footers will be re-evaluated to see if they should remain on them or not? (I know it's a silly question and that the latter is most likely the case, but since I haven't seen any staff activity here for about two and a half months, I thought it was worth asking). Also, I'm confused about the "Bi-Annual Review" notice at the top of the page; does it mean that revisions have been changed from every six months to every two years?

I have submitted several wikis in the past, when these footers were still hosted at the now defunct Encyclopedia Gamia, and it always took just a few days (or two or three weeks at most) for submissions to be included in the footers.

I hope you could answer these questions. Thanks for reading and have a nice day.

Apparently there's only one guy who updates these, and he seems to be away for quite some time, so either he's having problems or he just doesn't care. Honestly, I'd put more people to review these AND either remove or make it more lax the activity requirement, since it only benefits the bigger communities in detriment of the small ones, which are the one who actually benefit from this program. Really, two wikis I edit got inactive for just a week before the last review but still got removed. Welcome to your doom! 14:16, March 27, 2019 (UTC)

Abandoned by Wikia Staff[]

"These footers are no longer updated by Fandom staff."
"Please do not post additional requests."

WTF?

You blanked footers that the community had been maintaining for years, and forced everyone who wanted to be displayed in the footer do it your way or else, and now you've abandoned them entirely?

You haven't even unprotected the footers, so the community doesn't even have the option of resuming maintenance of them.

The original blog post about the footers doesn't even exist anymore, and Gameshub and Encyclopedia Gamia doesn't even exist any more. (Apparently Gameshub was renamed to Gamehub, and all existing links just redirect to the main page...)

This is just further proof that Wikia does not care about communities. 452 14:17, April 25, 2019 (UTC)

It's not under Wikia anymore, it's under Fandom. But don't worry, we still can do out own manual footer. See the one I make for Horror section. ConTraZ VII (talk) 00:07, April 26, 2019 (UTC)

The big hassle with making new footers is having to contact every single wiki just to change the footers. They could at the very least unlock the current footers so we can care for them. Welcome to your doom! 14:44, April 26, 2019 (UTC)
Anyways. I ended making a few footers if you guys want to help: Template:Shmup Footer, Template:Fighting Games, Template:General Gaming, Template:Platformer Games. Welcome to your doom! 18:29, April 26, 2019 (UTC)
They forced everyone into the footer plan years ago, forcing wiki's that were already in agreement to abandon footers already set up. I remember many wikis being forced to change. It yielded useless general game footers instead of genre specific.  Devilmanozzy (Talk Page)  18:22, April 27, 2019 (UTC)
How about an experiment then: We can unprotect the footer templates for a set period of time to let the participating communities maintain the footer templates on their own, and to give users waiting for their submission to be reviewed a chance to do that themselves.
If that goes well, it's a win-win and we can leave the footers open for the community to carry them forward. If not, we may have to undo changes and protect them again, but it does indeed seem worth a shot. Mira Laime  (help forum | blog) 01:18, April 28, 2019 (UTC)

Templates are maintained by volunters[]

These have been adopted by Magma MK-II. Please leave him a message if you wish to update a template. MechQueste 02:58, March 10, 2020 (UTC)
