Bakugan Wiki (approved)[]

I would like to request a Spotlight for the Bakugan Wikia. It has 1,474 pages, which gets added to almost weekly. Even though we have few really regular contributers, we still get work done. The community is great together, and will help each other out. Abce2|They call me Prophet." 02:20, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Never mind, the community's an arse. :/ Abce2|They call me Prophet." 22:16, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Bakugan Wiki is generally in good shape, but needs a few tweaks to meet the spotlight criteria. You have 400+ in your stub category, which is more than 1/5th of your content; the goal would be to have no more than 300 or so. Could you please look through them and remove any that are no longer truly stubs? Some of them appear to be reasonably long to me. Also you need to restore the corporate footer/spotlights which you are currently hiding with your css; it's against the Wikia customization policy to hide them like that. Let me know on my talk page when you have taken care of these issues. -- Wendy (talk) 03:13, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Digimon Fanon Wiki[]

I like to request a spotlight for this Digimon fanon wikia. Digimon fanon wiki already reach over 200 articles. This wiki starts to grow since every month.--User_talk:Ericard 02:13, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. The wiki generally looks good. You have some uncategorized pages; could you please sort them out? Also, you do not appear to be very active there (you have not edited in over two weeks), and there needs to be an active admin on spotlighted wikis. At least one of the other admins appears to drop by sporadically; perhaps you could talk to them about the spotlight and make sure somebody will be active on the wiki for it? -- Wendy (talk) 03:27, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, you are right. Ok, I'll fixed them and I will let you know later. Thanks.--User_talk:Ericard 03:32, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Wendy, seems there is none are active admin, maybe this wiki need to be pending until the admins will be further confirmed until I will let you know. Thanks.--User_talk:Ericard 03:36, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Ok. No problem :). Let me know when you guys are back on there. -- Wendy (talk) 16:16, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Battle: Los Angeles Wiki[]

Hello! I understand my wiki, Battle: Los Angeles Wiki does not meet all of your criteria, but it is one of those topics where it will lose it's fan base if it does not get one growing immediately. I understand you will create Wikia spotlights for certain Wikis if they have a more current topic, such as a Wiki about a film that coincides with its release. I am really trying to keep my Wiki going and am continuing to create articles, but if I don't start to draw attention to people now, a lot of people will quickly lose interest in the film. Thanks!

Tsu'tey te Rongloa Ateyitan 23:41, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Unfortunately if you request a spotlight you do have to meet the criteria here. Many of the spotlights you see are not requested; they are chosen by the content team; and yes, frequently it is a smaller but current wiki. You just can't request those here. I'm sorry -- please feel free to ask again once the wiki has been built up. -- Wendy (talk) 16:19, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

(Sigh) Okay. Thanks. Hopefully we'll have 200 non-stub articles by the time that the film is released on DVD. I just hope there's still some people out there interested in the movie. Because unless they make a sequel, it is gonna lose probably 90% of its fan base. =) Thanks again! Tsu'tey te Rongloa Ateyitan 22:40, May 3, 2011 (UTC)Tsu'tey te Rongloa Ateyitan

RuneScape Fanfiction Wiki[]

Hello! I'd like to see if RuneScape Fanfiction Wiki can quallify for a Spotlight. It's been around since 2007, and I've notice it's becoming more popular by day. We get more and more users from our mother wiki the RuneScape Wiki. Chiafiend12 is also the founder of this wiki, but I've been running it for quite a whille after he gave me his position as founder.

~Sereniama~ | PageTalkWiki Contributions | 04:53, April 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. RuneScape Fanfiction looks like it has a lot of neat content. In order to be spotlighted it would need to have some sort of image/graphics added to the main page; right now it's visually a huge wall of text. You would also need to finish categorizing all the pages (I see that you are aware of this from the community corner message). Let me know on my talk page when you have taken care of these issues! -- Wendy (talk) 16:39, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Gami Wiki (approved)[]

Hi,Wiki! I'm the creator of a Wiki called Gami Wiki and I was wishing for you to add it to the Spotlight list. It has exactly 200 pages with NO STUBS. The Main Page has a lot of links and a picture, all pages in a category, not promoting any new admins, have a pretty great Community message, has a customized skin and colorful images. It was a lot of hard work making more then half of these pages and we need more contributors.

It is about a Pokemon-like world (like Complipedia above) where everyone can share creatures they made. It was made about a month ago.

If you accept, please make Gamisthis as the picture or Gamis 2. The description could be "Join a Pokémon-like world.

Thanks. I Have Come For Your Head! - SilverWingsxxx 03:43, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Okami Wiki (approved)[]

I would like to request a spotlight for Ōkami Wiki. I believe we meet the requirements and are in good shape but we could use the extra users. I believe now is a good time for us to expand our user base as Ōkamiden, the second game in the series, was recently released.--Soul reaper 13:50, April 27, 2011 (UTC)

Coasterpedia[]

Hello! Hopefully it's not too soon to put up another request, but it has been over six months since the first spotlight for this wiki, and other wikis have been spotlighted more than once in a six-month period, so this should be OK by your standards.

I'd like to request a spotlight for Roller Coaster Wiki. It still follows all the "best practices" and now has improved infoboxes. Thanks for your time! MontagnaMagica|Talk 22:01, April 28, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. If you look further up this page, you'll see that you already had a second spotlight approved in February. Generally we ask wikis to wait at least a year before requesting a 3rd spotlights. So maybe ask sometime next fall. -- Wendy (talk) 17:48, May 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. TTTE Wiki looks like it is in generally good shape. You would need to drop the main page protection to only protect against new and unregistered users; then I would be happy to add it to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 23:18, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

I would like to request a Spotlight for the Professor Layton Wiki. We've been working hard on our wiki to make it as big as possible. We've still got a lot of work on the puzzles and everything, but it'll be done eventually. We should meet all the requirements listed on the article page. Thank you in advance. - Tjcool007 (Talk / Contribs) 20:15, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

Camp Half-Blood Role Playing Wiki (approved)[]

I would like to request a spotlight for the Camp Half-Blood Role Playing Wiki, we are fairly new, but we already have over 300 pages and climbing, as this is an rpg wiki, the more user's we have that actively want to contribute in a role playing environment, the more fun the site will be and the faster it will grow and I feel having spotlight will help us to achieve that. http://camphalfbloodroleplay.wikia.com/wiki/Camp_Half-Blood_Role_Playing_Wiki --BachLynn(Send an Owl!) 23:23, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

I am an admin on the ultra dragonball wiki and would like to make a spotlight request. It has has over two hundred pages, there is nothing going on there right now, it is a peaceful wiki, and it has all the other requirments. Gotek may 13

Hi. Ultra Dragonball Wiki looks great. You would need to drop the main page protection to the autoconfirmed level, which prevents edits from unregistered users and new accounts in order to be spotlighted. Let me know on my talk page when you have done that and I will be happy to add you to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 23:50, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

The Lion King Wikia[]

Hi, I'd like to request a spotlight for The Lion King Wikia. We currently have over three-hundred articles, an active front page, and a family-friendly environment. --HoneyfurBob's Your Uncle! 21:59, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Lion King Wiki looks like a nice wiki. To meet the spotlight criteria you would need to customize the skin (you can use the Theme Designer) and the Community Corner. You also have a handful of uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. Finally you would need to strengthen your content so no more than 1/5th (about 65 pages in your case) of the articles are stub pages (roughly speaking, shorter than 300 bytes). Please let me know on my talk page when you have had a chance to meet all the spotlight criteria. -- Wendy (talk) 01:47, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Congratulations on reaching 200 articles! However in order to meet the spotlight criteria the wiki would need some tweaks. The main page protection would need to be dropped back to protect only against anonymous users. You have about 60 uncategorized pages that would need to be sorted out. The wiki would also need to fill out some of the pages; the spotlight criteria is to have at least 200 non-stub articles, but right now about 40 of your pages are still stub-length. Please continue to work on the wiki and ask again when you have had a chance to meet all of the spotlight criteria. -- Wendy (talk) 22:27, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

The British Wildlife Wiki (approved)[]

Hey, we applied for a spotlight a little while ago. I would like to apply again as we now meet the criteria. The British Wildlife Wiki now has over 1200 pages and over 1200 images. We are always adding more and we aim to have 2000 page by the end of the year. We have grown in number over the years and we have a great community although most contributors only help out occasionally. Cheers TheWWC 18:10, May 26, 2011 (UTC)

Great job strengthening the content. I have gone ahead and added you to the approved spotlights list. -- Wendy (talk) 00:30, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Deus Ex Wiki (approved)[]

Hey, Id like to ask for the Deus Ex Wiki to get a spotlight. It recently hit 450 pages, almost all of which are categorized, are decent length, and are legitamately written. The wiki is about 3 years old, but activity has really picked up this year (usually multiple edits a day). Honestly, most of the content that can be written has been written, so not much is going on right now, but in August the first game in 8 years is coming out and some more users would be great to tackle the influx of new content. Dorgles 20:20, May 29, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Deus Ex Wiki looks really sharp. There are a few tweaks it would need to meet the spotlight criteria. The main page would need to be protected only against anonymous/new account edits (the middle protection level), and you would need to customize the Community Corner. There is also a small handful of uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. Please let me know on my talk page when you have taken care of these things and I'll be happy to add the wiki to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 00:51, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

As you aske dI fixed the community corner, main page and uncategorized pages. --Dorgles 07:28, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Hello, i'd like to request a spotlight for Tokyo Mew Mew Fanon Wikia. We have a very well controled place there, and have 200+ pages. It's clean of Vandals and has quite a few active users. A tear only sheds when the heart is hurt... So tell me... why did you do this? 17:38, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Hi! May you please spotlight the House of Anubis Wikia! We have a lot of users, but Season 1 just ended and some users that have been on since the wikia started have been gone and they say they will be back soon, but we still need users. Thank you for your time! =D

Have a Nice Day,

NeneG Leave me a message! 17:14, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. In order to be spotlighted through this page, a wiki needs to meet our Spotlight criteria. One of the basic requirements is 200 non-stub articles. Right now House of Anubis Wiki doesn't quite meet that criteria. Please continue to build up your content and ask again when the wiki can meet all of the spotlight criteria. -- Wendy (talk) 01:11, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Dead Space Wiki (approved)[]

Hello. I am Subtank, a representative of the administration team of Dead Space Wiki and would like to request a spotlight. Activity has slowly been in decline and having a spotlight could hopefully make the wiki more livelier (oh, the irony of a wiki that focuses on space zombies). The wiki has a current amount of 933 active articles, not including redirects, and fits all of the requirements. — subtank (7alk) 18:40, June 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Dead Space Wiki looks like it is generally in great shape. For a spotlight you would need to drop the main page protection to only protect against anonymous/new users (the vandalism for which it was protected was by an anonymous user, not an established account). You also have a few uncategorized pages that need sorting out. Please let me know on my talk page when you have taken care of these and I will be happy to add the wiki to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 01:18, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
Missed that when going over the Spotlight requirements. Anyway, all done. :) — subtank (7alk) 01:38, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
I figured it was something like that :). Thanks for fixing it. I've added the wiki to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 23:02, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

The Sims Wiki[]

The Sims Wiki is hoping to get a spotlight for sometime in October. We're not sure when we should jump on the list, so earlier seems like a better idea. We want to correspond our spotlight to the release of The Sims 3: Pets expansion pack, which is apparently sometime in October. I'll be sure to bring the exact date of release when it becomes available. Thanks for considering us! -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 01:43, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Right now spotlights are being approved and appearing within about 4-6 weeks. If I approve the wiki now the spotlight will be well before October. Do you still want me to do that? The wiki has a few uncategorized pages but seems otherwise like it meets the requirements. -- Wendy (talk) 23:19, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Pokemon Wiki[]

The Pokemon Wiki could use some extra users, we need a little bit of clean up on the items articles, we also want ourselves to be spotlighted for the Unova region incoming info, and Black and White related things, along with info on the new game, Pokedex 3D. We really need a hand on the wiki, and if it gets approved, the wiki will too! I know we have a few uncategorized pages, but that's why we need help as well, that is where we are struggling, but we excel in everything else! --Bullet Francisco, admin, Pokemon Wiki02:04, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Pokemon Wiki is in generally good shape. In addition to the handful of uncategorized pages, you have over 1700 articles marked as stubs and about 600 which are short/stub-length. While there may be some overlap between these, the total number of stubs counted both ways needs to be less than 1/5th of all your articles, or about 930 at most. Feel free to ask again when you have had a chance to work on this and can meet all the spotlight criteria... -- Wendy (talk) 23:32, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

RollerCoaster Tycoon Wiki (approved)[]

Hey, I'm Dolphanatic! Although you probably know me from Coasterpedia, I do a lot of contributions on RCT Wiki too, and like Coasterpedia, most of the wiki's visitors stay for a little while to make a couple edits, then they forget about the site, leaving Hadesengel, Matt_20_1, Zeesims, and I (most of which, including me, are admins) as the majority of contributions. On the brighter side, though, The formatting is consistent and there's also an "Article Creator" to help make creating formatted pages easier. Also I checked the requirements and it fits all the criteria. Thanks in advance! (;

DolphanaticTalkContributions - 23:43,6/9/2011

Hi. RollerCoaster Tycoon Wiki looks generally pretty good. You do have about 60 uncategorized pages that would need to be sorted out for the spotlight. Also the main page notice about switching to Monobook could probably come down at this point -- I think everybody knows about the skins by now. Let me know on my talk page when you've had a chance to sort this out. -- Wendy (talk) 23:41, June 15, 2011 (UTC)

Mothra12 wiki[]

Mothra12 wiki has 200 pages and is mainly about kaiju; fanmade and not. There aren't many active users on it, but it has much progress made on it. It also has some random things I made. Please qualify this wiki. Message me if you do. from Mothra12. Roar to me. 21:12, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. It appears you have stopped working on this wiki, and blocked the only other admin. We cannot spotlight a wiki without admins. You would also need to slightly more content to qualify for a spotlight -- the requirement is to have 200 non-stub pages. In your case about 35 of the pages are still stubs (shorter than 300bytes). Should you start working on the wiki again, please make sure it meets all of the spotlight criteria and feel free to ask again. -- Wendy (talk) 03:31, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

I posted up a request for this wiki when it had 175 pages; I am happy to say that we have now reached 200. It has been my dream to have a spotlight on here; I hope we will be able to have one now. Please consider. If you approve, I would like this image:

And the words: Warriors fanfiction, cat art, and character pages.

John Carter wiki spotlight[]

okay . . .this is excessively complicated . . . the john carter of mars wiki, is not named john carter wiki . . . which I hate . . .I wish I could move it to johncarter.wikia.com or at least get that to redirect to the website now . . . well anyways, right now its barsoom.wikia.com . Well, anways I think it needs a spotlight . . . things are getting pretty serious for the wikis content, with three ongoing comic series by dynamite entertainment (warlord of mars) and a fourth series from marvel. Not to mention a film on the way being made by disney and award winning director andrew stanton. . . The trailer for the movie, will be premiering during the next harry potter movie . . . in 29 DAYS, and the poster was just revealed . . . I think it needs a spotlight, the wiki has over 300 pages and a well made front page (curtesy of JoePlay) . . . I think that this wiki is a perfect wiki to be spotlighted . . . hmmm thing is . . . the spotlight thing should read "John Carter wiki" I suppose . . . even though its barsoom.wikia.com . . . its about the john carter of mars universe though . . . "sigh" I wish Icould change it ralok 20:45, June 16, 2011 (UTC)

hmm, johncarter.wikia.com now redirects to it, fancy that . .. . I have no idea who did that ralok 04:59, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. If you wish to make a change to your URL or sitename you need to ask at Special:Contact. In terms of the spotlight, while the wiki looks good, and the front page is really well done, it appears that much of the front-page linked portal system is broken (too wide) or not in place at all. You would need to at least put up temporary content on all those pages (and make what is there the appropriate width). You would also need to customize the community corner. For the spotlight no more than 1/5th of your articles (about 65 articles in your case) can be stubs; right now there are about 100 stub-length pages, or closer to 1/3rd of your content. So you would also need to strengthen the content a bit. Please feel free to ask again when you have straightened out your portals and can meet all the spotlight criteria. -- Wendy (talk) 04:16, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

Everything you said can and will be fixed except there isnt alot of time. I am only one man working on this, and the trailer for the first theatrical film based on ERBS's a princess of mars is going to be released in twenty days from now IN FRONT OF HARRY POTTER, you have any idea how many people see harry potter!!!. There is a time limit here, similiar to the skyrim wiki and the cowboys and aliens wiki as soon as its announced you are are probably goign to want to spotlight it. I am trying to make sure you guys have something to show off! instead of plastering links for vacant wikis (I think the cowboys and aliens wiki had 3 articles on it when I first saw it! and the skyrim wiki 20 pages tops) Sigh, you guys will probably just make a new wiki anyways and completely disregard my wikis existence! ralok 15:17, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

If content team feels it is appropriate they will spotlight the wiki outside of this request page. As they have just helped with the main page, they are certainly aware your wiki is there. For wiki-requested spotlights on this page, however, the spotlight criteria have to be met before they can be approved. I'm very sorry, and, as I said before, let me know (either with a new request or on my talkpage) when you are ready. -- Wendy (talk) 03:52, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

I can fix everything in time, but one thing might not be fixable. The stub pages problem, as the content is derived from books written by a writer who is deceased. I can try adn overwhelm with pages based on derivative works though . . . sigh . . . I dont know how to get a community portal up and running . . . hmmmm :I I hate working on these aspects of wikis!!!!! GAH I am running on a time limit here!!!! I have eighteen days to get it fixed up . . . GAH STRESSFUL. sorry to have bothered you wendy :( ralok 16:23, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

How about now, I have buffed up alot of the smaller pages, there are very few pages under 200 bytes . . . oh also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rf55GTEZ_E&feature=player_embedded ralok 00:26, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

Sims Medieval Wiki[]

Hello, Im the Head Admin on our wiki, and we are slowly increasing in size and quality. We meet all of the criteria and would like to ask if we could be spotlighted. We need a huge growth in this wiki or it will slow down and stop. We have some very interesting things on our wiki and it would be a pure shame if this wiki doesn't grow to the size of our brother wiki ( the sims wiki ) so please consider us.

Link to our wiki: Sims Medieval wiki

So please consider it, we have very high quality pages that we spent such a long time to complete them. As I said before it would be a complete shame if our wiki slowly declines in users. And we are fully ready for a huge massive growth increase in active users. Life11The_Sims_Medieval_Wiki:Contactadmin@ 14:28, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Sims Medieval looks really nice -- I can see you have been working hard on it. You have about 25 uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. Also I notice you have a lot of articles marked for deletion -- could you clean those up (I was running into them browsing by random page...)? Let me know on my talk page when you have done that and I will check the wiki again to make sure you meet the stub criteria :). -- Wendy (talk) 04:01, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Hello. i once requested a spotlight but it was declined. I did some improvement on the wiki and maybe now it should be close to the requirements ? DSM144 17:56, June 18, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Wow -- you've been working hard on the wiki! The only remaining tweak it needs to meet the spotlight criteria would be to drop the main page protection so that it only protects against edits by anonymous users and new accounts. Please let me know on my talk page when you have done that and I will be happy to add the wiki to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 04:10, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Done. I lowered the protection so only new and unregistered people cannot edit the main page. Also, thank you very much. --DSM144 09:36, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Great! I've added you to the list! -- Wendy (talk) 04:10, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

Bomberman Wiki (approved)[]

BombermanSpotlight

Probably not a guaranteed usage, but this one can be used for the spotlight image

BombermanSpotlight2

You can also choose this one

Hello! I would like to request a spotlight for Bomberman Wiki. I think we have things settled.

  • Over 300 Content Pages
  • Check our Category:Stubs and Short Pages, which only contains ~20, as of June 20, (not including disambigs) pages under 300 bytes
  • Welcome Tool
  • Pages categorized
  • Custom Community Corner Messages
  • Semi-protected Main Page
  • Customized Skin
  • Stable. No upheavals, hopefully (not choosing any admins only because the community is really quiet....)
  • And, I'm an administrator

It's probably not guaranteed that you'll use these, but just incase. One of the images on the right can be used, whichever one looks better. I also noticed that the spotlights on the sides, probably, make the images smaller and focused on a certain object. If possible, you can focus more on the white character.

  • You can also choose to use this tagline if you want: "Help blow up the Bomberman community!"

If there's anything that we need to fix or anything, tell us, and we'll get them finished in no time! Thanks in advance!

Hello. I would like to request for the Tak and the Power of Juju Wiki. Until recently, I was basically the only editor. Now there are a couple other editors, but we could really use more. As you see we meet all requirements (I actually wrote this after the 200th page was made). This wiki could easily have many contributors and could easily have over 1000 pages. Thank you for your time. DaRanger (Chat With Me) 18:48, June 24, 2011 (UTC)

Ben 10 wiki (approved)[]

Hi I am a admin from the Ben 10 wiki and I would like to request a spotlight for my wiki. The Ben 10 wiki houses over 1100 pages with over 300 editors. I would like a spotlight for my wiki to get new editors and working with them to share our knowledge together, thats what wikia is about. And all our pages are categorized and the mainpage/homepage is unprotected for all users to edit! We have a really nice wiki. Please consider it and thanks!

Highlights of our wiki:

We have over 1100 pages

We have over 300 editors (not all of them edit daily, but you can check Special:Listusers and go to no group for evidence)

We have a team of rollbacks who revert vandal and we have 4 current admins who block and improve the wiki

We have pages like requests for rollback or adminship

We the admins are very nice to new editors and spotlighting our wiki will help them come and edit with us

We share new knowledge everytime we know about it

We never copy & paste info from Wikipedia, advertisements, e.t.c

We always update our community messages everytime there is new info to be notified.

We the admins also edit every single day

Hi. I'm glad you are excited about your wiki. Unfortunately, in order to be spotlighted through this page, you would need to have 200 non-stub content pages. Valkyria Wiki (approved)[]

I'd like to apply for a spotlight for for our wiki] and I believe we've met all the requirements. We've been creating 200-300 new pages lately but please note that we did not do this just to meet the criteria. These pages are used as tooltips for some other articles. Valkyria Chronicles is a great franchise, but it has a relatively small fan base, so I hope that we can promote the game through this. |Arcius| 05:43, June 30, 2011 (UTC)

Winx Wiki[]

Hi I am Sorreltail18, the admin of Winx Wiki. I would like to put up Winx Wiki on Spotlight. We have over 500 pages, no admin voting, clear categories, no innappropriate content. If there is a requirement(s) not completed, I can complete ASAP! I hope you can look over this summary and our wiki, and hope that it is Spotlight material :)

I'm hoping if the Wiki gets on Spotlight, more people will edit at Winx Wiki (and considering Winx Club is shown world wide, more people will be intrested in Winx Wiki).

--Sorreltail18Message Me! 04:51, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Winx Wiki is looking really nice and congratulations on reaching 500 articles! There are a few tweaks it would need to meet the spotlight criteria. The Main Page edit protection would need to be dropped to protect only against unregistered users and new accounts. Also you have more than 140 articles tagged as stubs; stubs should be no more than 1/5th of your content, or about 100 articles. Could you please clean out your stub category? Finally you have about 30 uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. Let me know on my talk page when you have taken care of these issues and I'll check again! -- Wendy (talk) 04:01, July 16, 2011 (UTC)

Lego Universe Stories Wiki[]

Hi there! I would like to file a request for the LEGO Universe Stories Wiki. It has been around for hardly over a month, but already has 49 pages and always growing. (I know it isn't 200, but the Bacon Wiki and a few others don't have 200 either and have been on spotlights forever) We have a nice, solid backbone for the wiki, including a very thorough policy and easy access to core pages. The main page is protected only because the coding is rather touchy (editing it will automatically screw the layout, no matter what you change). Other than that, we have a fairly stable community and are ready for business! If we are approved, could the caption be, "LEGO Universe Stories - by YOU!"? Thanks! - ♫ᵯӕᵴϯᵲⱷƷƼ♫

Hi. While the LEGO Universe Stories looks great, I'm afraid Wikis spotlighted through this request page do have to meet all of our spotlight criteria, including 200 non-stub content pages. If you see a spotlighted wiki that does not meet the criteria it means they were spotlighted by the Community Team and not at the wiki's request. Good luck with the wiki, and please ask again when you've had a chance to expand the content! -- Wendy (talk) 01:33, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Neopets Wiki (approved)[]

I would like to request a spotlight for The Neopets Guild. It has 1,378 pages. I am pretty much the main source of activity on there and I am the only active Bureaucrat as well. This wiki do not have a consistent flow of users. This is a VERY old wikia.

The community is.. pretty much me and this newbie as of now. I have made much progress on it and will continue working on it. I am totally willing to take the necessary actions that will give The Neopets Guild a spotlight.

Ji Robinson (talk) 03:44, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Neopets Wiki looks like a great resource, with a lot of fun information, but in order to meet all of our spotlight request criteria it would need a few tweaks. It looks like the main page is sysop-level protected, and this would need to be dropped to only protect against anonymous users and new accounts. There are 200+ uncategorized pages; could you please find them a place? Finally, you appear to have about 275 stub-length pages (shorter than 300 bytes), and an additional 150 pages marked as stubs. You would need to have only 275 pages total in both places combined. I notice that many of the articles marked stub are, in fact, reasonably long articles; perhaps you could clean out that category as a start. Please let me know if you have any questions and/or when the wiki can meet all of the spotlight criteria... -- Wendy (talk) 01:43, July 20, 2011 (UTC)
Great job cleaning up those issues -- I've added the wiki to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 01:17, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Inazuma Eleven Wiki[]

Hi, im an admin for the Inazuma Eleven Wiki and it would be nice if we finally got spotlighted and if we do this would be our very first spotlight.

Also we've got 900+ pages, have a decent front page having the info about the featured page and current episode, and a community message.

Also it would be nice to spread out that after the original series there's a new series that is called Inazuma Eleven GO that takes place 10 years after the main story so it would be like spotlighting a new sequel of the anime.

Also could you use this photo for the spotlight and can it have the caption: "A whole new story takes place 10 years after the FFI along with old and new characters... Ready for Inazuma Eleven GO?"

Here's the link for the photo:

Hi. Inazuma Eleven wiki is generally in great shape. The one thing I see is that you have 400+ pages marked as stubs; we would ask that you only have 1/5th of your content be stubs; in your case that would be about 185 articles... You would also need to add some links on your main page to basic content (eg. episodes, characters, whatever else is important...) to help people find their way into the wiki :) Let me know on my talk page when you've had a chance to work on this stuff! -- Wendy (talk) 02:04, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Wikination[]

Hello, I'm TimeMaster from Wikination, which is a wiki that hosts an online nation, called Lovia. On the wiki, we have an active Congress that creates both real, administative laws, and in character laws to guide content and to also create new content. We have never had a spotlight before, so several of our users, including myself and some others (including the admin Regaliorum: look here for the approval) are very exciting to have increased activity. We currently have 1985 content pages, only about 5% of which are stubs. Wikination has a dwindling supply of active users, so we are looking for more and are very excited to receive a community spotlight.

We meet most of the guidelines, the main exception being that we do not have a custom skin or logo (though we do have the old, square-er logo). Some images that would be good for the spotlight are the flag and some general terrain images. Thanks for considering! TimeMaster (talkcontribs) 18:06, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Wikination is in generally good shape, and I appreciate that you linked to the conversation with the admin. There are a few tweaks that it would need to meet the spotlight criteria. While I can see on the talk page that most of you do not use the Wikia skin, visitors clicking the spotlight will. So please take the time to customize the skin (an administrator can use Special:ThemeDesigner and it does not take very long at all). Likewise please customize the message at Mediawiki:Community-corner. There is a small handful of uncategorized pages as well. The Regular Show Wiki (approved)[]

I am requesting The Regular Show Wiki to be spolighted. It has over 300 pages, it has no inapropriate images, it has no foul language except on pages that need to have it because it is said on the show in that respecitve episode, There are over 3 admins, I am not in the middle of uograding administrators, and at least 50 percent of the pages out of 317 are stubs, but me and the other admins are working together to make them larger. Also, the main page is blocked due to vandalism. There is only a miminal amount of users and half of them are Wikia Contirbuters. I would like more users with acounts to edit. Thanks. Looney Tunes Show and Regular Show are the favorite things of Haroldfan4eva 23:41, July 14, 2011 (UTC)

Also, I would like the photo posted to be the pic if the wiki gets spotlighted. Also, I have noticed one thing on the wiki that might count as non-spotlight material, the Wikia Contributers seem to be posting cusses in comments on certain pages. I, for one, cannot change this because there is so many comments I would have to delete and it would be just too much. I've still got my hopes up, though. I would like to request that Casualty Wiki be given a spotlight. The show is celebrating it's 25th anniversary in early September and is the world's longest running emergency medical drama; therefore I felt the time was right to make a request. But no doubt I've got something that needs fixing... ;)    ǝsʞpɐןǝ  (message wall)  09:05, 21/07/2011

Hi. Casualty Wiki looks nice and that's an impressive anniversary for the show! In order to meet the requested spotlight criteria, you would need to lower the protection on the mainpage to only protect against anonymous user edits. More importantly, you have some 200 stub-length pages (less than 300 bytes), and 125 pages marked as stubs. While there is some overlap between the two, the combined number of short/stub pages needs to be about 100, or 1/5th of your content. Please work on strengthening/cleaning out those pages and ask again when you can meet all of the spotlight criteria. -- Wendy (talk) 02:38, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your response. I find it ironic that my spotlight was refused due to 200 or so stub articles, but would be accepted if I deleted said articles. But you're the one in charge, not me. :)    ǝsʞpɐןǝ  (message wall)  08:27, 28/07/2011

Bleach Wiki (approved)[]

Hi, I'm Yyp, one of the admins on Bleach Wiki. I'd like to request a spotlight for Bleach Wiki please. I believe we meet all the requirements for a spotlight. We have over 1400 pages (actually just nudging the 1500 mark currently), all categorised and very few stubs. We have 3 active admins and a group of dedicated regular users with rollback rights tasked with protecting from vandalism. They are also in charge of running various projects to improve the quality of the wiki's articles, be it adding images, insuring information states its source, improving grammar, doing summaries for episodes, chapters and battles. On top of that we have many regular/semi-regular users chipping in to help create a great wiki with a well established community. But of course we'd be happy if we could attract a few more regular users too. Thanks for considering us and if we do not meet the standards, please do let us know what we need to improve upon. Thanks again ~~Ууp <talk> 21:53, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

Request for spotlight to be removed/changed[]

There currently seems to be a spotlight for the "warriors wiki", which when you click on it leads to this, a deleted page with foul language on it. Can something be done about that?--Acer4666 16:12, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Hi -- I just saw this unfortunately. If the spotlight is still up/broken would you please let me know on my talk page here? Thanks! -- Wendy (talk) 02:41, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Beyblade Wiki[]

Hello I am EdBoy3, an admin at Beyblade Wiki. I just wanted to get a request for a Spotlight for Beyblade Wiki. We already had a Spotlight before but we still need more users to come to our wiki. Beyblade Wiki follows all of the requirements and we always get new articles and we welcome new users. I hope you can accept our request, thank you. :) User talk:EdBoy3

Yes, I'm here to back it up once again. I think this would be idea for us. We're always after new members, it brings happiness to our community. Especially with this Awards Ceremony coming up, this will spice it up. If you need anything then please leave a message at either my Talk page or Ed's talk page. We'd be very grateful. Thank you :D --Manaphy12342 00:43, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Beyblade is still in pretty good shape but it needs a few tweaks to meet the spotlight criteria. The main page protection needs to be set to autoconfirmed for edit instead of sysop. There are some uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. Finally you have about 290 stub-length articles and an additional 55 or so articles marked as stubs. For a spotlight the combined number of stubs/stub-lenght articles should be 1/5th of your total content, or about 230 articles. So you will need to strengthen some of those short pages a bit. Please let me know when you have had a chance to work on these issues and can meet all of the spotlight criteria. -- Wendy (talk) 18:34, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

Avatar/Legend of Korra Wiki[]

Hi I'm Annawantimes, the creator and leader of the activity at the Avatar & Legend of Korra Wiki. The activity at the wiki is very limited. We only have two, maybe three active users. I really enjoy the topic. Everyone will tell me, "Give up, there's already an Avatar Wiki that's far more developed!" Well, I haven't been to Avatar Wiki in months. I am trying to go solo and attract more users to my wiki. The spotlight could certainly help. I'll probably need to add to some pages and categorize some more, but please tell me what I have to do. When it gets aproved, I'd like to text under the photo to be, Read about Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Last Airbender Legend of Korra. I realize that might be too long, if not, great! Thank you for your time, Annawantimes 04:42, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

This is not the official response, but just to give you a heads up - you've got 115 uncategorised pages, and 120 pages that are less than 300 bytes (stub pages). To meet the criteria you'll have to categorise those 115 pages, plus get your number of stubs down to around 60 (1/5 of your total pages)--Acer4666 10:24, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Thank you AnnawantimesTalk 21:14, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

I'm sorry -- I appear to have missed this request before. As you have posted an updated one below I will put the answer there. -- Wendy (talk) 03:05, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Fushigi Yuugi Wiki (approved)[]

Hi, I'm SsorceniviD, the admin of the Fushigi Yuugi Wiki. It has been spotlighted months ago, but I would like to have it for the spotlights again. We're in desperate need of contributors and audience and I think this is a good opportunity. Since this wiki has been spotlighted before, I believe that we meet the certain requirements. Thank you and we await your response, and we would be happy to know if there is still that we do not have that's needed here. 09:57, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I'm sorry -- I seem to have missed this request when I was answering them previously. Fushigi Yuugi Wiki looks great and I have added it to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk) 03:05, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Warriors Wiki Spotlight Art Problem (Change Request)[]

Greetings. I'd like to start off by thanking you for the spotlight, it's a wonderful opportunity for our community that we very much appreciate. But, a problem was brought to my attention by Shellheart, a member of our wiki who owns the art that was used in the spotlight. That piece was uploaded to Warriors Wiki without their permission, and the user is rather displeased that their art was used in the spotlight. I would greatly appreciate if the image in use could be changed. Thank you.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:28, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

To the staff:Ahem, hem--Acer4666 16:38, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
We at Warriors Wiki do try very hard to avoid these situations and patrol our own. Sadly, though, this one got through the cracks. Murphy's law then proceeded to strike, which is just our luck.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:41, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
No, it's perfectly understandable that this happened - I think it's an inevitable consequence of insufficient information about copyright being given by wikia.--Acer4666 16:44, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
For future reference, please send requests like this either directly to my talk page or to Special:Contact -- I'll see them much more quickly. thanks! -- Wendy (talk) 03:13, August 6, 2011 (UTC)

Jeep Wiki[]

I would like to request Jeep Wiki to be spotlighted. It meets all the requirements, and only seven of its 223 pages are stubs. -Hockeyben 18:37, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Unofficial response - although only 7 pages are stub size, how many of them are like this one, over 1000 bytes but full of placeholder information instead of content? Also, you have 8 uncategorised pages--Acer4666 18:44, July 28, 2011 (UTC)
Uncategorized pages are fixed. As long as the page is over 300 bytes, it doesn't matter whether its a place-holder or not. (As far as I know) ---Hockeyben 17:38, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
You're right - you've managed to game the system and stay within the rules from a pedant's point of view. How silly of me to bring it up--Acer4666 17:45, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
Its not "gaming the system" place holders work well for the type of wiki it is, not because I wanted it spotlighted.---Hockeyben 18:47, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
Hi. Jeep wiki generally looks good and meets most of the spotlight criteria, but as already discussed here, you have a lot of stub pages that are not "short" but still stubs. When asked to quantify stubs I generally quote "about 300 bytes" or shorter, because that is an easy way to quantify them on most wikis, and is roughly the length of a few sentences of text. However I always check what that 300bytes means on each wiki, and there are occasional wikis like yours where a lot of the pages have big templates which skew the numbers. In that case I start browsing and counting. If I hit more than 1 stub in 5 clicks then there are too many stubs. On your wiki I was hitting that. The goal of the stub requirement is to make sure visitors will not be clicking to a lot of pages without content; right now your wiki is not meeting this goal. Please work on filling in some of those pages; when you can click random page repeatedly and only hit 1 in 5 pages or less which don't have at least a few sentences of content in addition to the placeholder, then let me know and I will look again. -- Wendy (talk) 01:27, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

~ Pirates Online Players Cafe ~[]

Hi! I'm the president of this wiki, and well... we're trying to get it going. We've got members, but we're still new, so I was hoping for a chance for a Spotlight, to help the wiki grow.

I hope you can consider us!

You don't have enough page to get a spotlight. You need to have 200 pages not including stubs, read this page, http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Community_Central:Spotlights. --TheBen10Mazter (Talk -Blog -Contribs) 22:23, July 30, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Keira. TheBen10Mazter is correct; in order to be spotlighted wikis need to have at least 200 non-stub content pages, and meet a few other criteria. Feel free to ask again when your wiki has had a chance to grow a bit more. -- Wendy (talk) 01:31, August 14, 2011 (UTC)

Rugrats Wiki[]

I am requesting a spotlight for Rugrats Wiki (http://rugrats.wikia.com). The wiki has over 500 pages of content and only 2 stub articles. The wiki has three users that edit frequently: GrouchMan, LDEJRuff, and I, Squidward Tentacles. The wiki doesn't get much contributors; the only new editors that have edited since the beginning of August are vandals. - Squidward 19:29, September 27, 2011 (UTC)
