Star Wars: The Old Republic Wiki (approved)

Hi! I'm ShatterClub, and I'm the senior bureaucrat at TOR Wiki. We applied and got a approved for a spotlight back in 2013 (link), and are requesting one again in the hopes that we can draw in more interested users and build a larger community. I've checked us out, and it looks like we fit all the requirements except for the stubs, which is something else we also would like more users for. Aside from that, I think we fit the bill on everything else, but if not, message me and we'll do what we can to fix any lingering problems.

Hello. TOR Wiki is in generally good shape, although for a spotlight you would need to lower the main page protection to only block new and unregistered users. However the stubs are a problem; 1/5th of your content would be about 800 pages and you have over 1400 marked as stubs. You would need to clean out the category and unmark some of the longer articles before the wikia could be spotlighted. Fan Creations Wiki

I would like to promote my wiki, the Fan Creations Wiki. The only thing it lacks is two-hundred content pages, because, as you can see, it has 160, but I've seen several spotlighted wikis without 200 being promoted. Thanks, --

Liv Dolls Wiki (approved)

The Admin of http://livdolls.wikia.com/wiki/LIV_DOLLS_FOREVER_Wiki (Liv Dolls wiki) would like to be spotlighted!

The site has more than 200 pages - all are above 300 bytes in size and are categorized. The main page has a picture and is open for editing. The content is organised in a logical and systematic method. Every content page is in a category. The community is so small – we need to spread the word, but have not been too good at doing this.  There is one admin and a few contributors.The wikia uses the Wikia welcome tool, signed by the Admin.The wikia has a customized skin. We would like to update it…but graphics is not the present Admins strength and help is needed here and all over the site. Liv Doll Wiki is a child friendly site and is devoted to doll lovers of all ages.

Good evening. I'm Sanna, I'm a user on Disgaea.wikia, and on behalf of this wiki, I'd like to request a Spotlight. Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is releasing in Japan on March 26, 2015, and I'm hoping that the spotlight would coincide with that date, beginning no later than March 24 (if I'm permitted to be so choosy about a start-date).

• The requester should be either an active admin or link to a discussion with an active admin - http://disgaea.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:8696 - Otherarrow is the active admin.

The only one we don't quite tick off is:

• The community should not be in the middle of choosing new admins or any other upheavals; it should be a stable, friendly place.

Well... the two of us who are here are friendly people... We're hoping the Spotlight will attract some new users who want to stick around ^_^.

Hello. I'm sorry, but in order to be spotlighted by request, wikias need to meet our spotlight criteria, one of which is to have at least 200 non-stub content pages. Your wikia sounds like a fun subject, but it does not qualify for a spotlight yet. We do have some tips and ideas for helping to find contributors for your wikia that might give you some other things you could try instead. Hollywood Undead Wiki

Hello. I would like to get the Hollywood Undead Wiki (http://www.hollywoodundead.wikia.com) a Spotlight. It grew from a very small, dead fanbase wiki to a very well-made fanbase wiki. The wiki has two current admins, myself and Blood007. There are two spotlight guidelines that our wiki doesn't meet, though. We do not have more than 200 pages. We only have 119. I hope this can technically meet the guidelines, because there is truthfully no more pages we can create until Hollywood Undead releases some new content. We just want Spotlighted so fans of the band can come over, chat, and help us become a better and bigger community. The second guideline we don't meet is the rule of no profanity. Hollywood Undead is an explicit band with suggestive song topics, which is addressed in the Parents page where parents can see what their children are doing on Wikia. I hope that that doesn't stop us from getting a Spotlight. If we didn't use profanity, then the wiki wouldn't be as credible as it is now. Well, thanks in advance! Have a good day. - Fametown

I'm very sorry because I can see that you have invested a lot of time and care into your wikia, but to be spotlighted through this page, a wikia does need to meet all of the spotlight criteria, including 200 non-stub content pages. Profanity within the lyrics is fine, but it would not be ok if you were randomly swearing at people on your main page (for example), so you are probably fine for that. The Starpolar Wiki (approved)

Hello. I am the founder of the Starpolar Wiki, Fatal Disease. I am here to apply for a Spotlight for my wiki. The Starpolar Wiki was created to allow users to host reviews and top lists (like a top 10 list) for their favorite games, stories, YouTubers, music, and anything they want to write about. They also have the choice to post their stories and have other users review them. Why do I want the site to have a Spotlight? The reason being is because I want people to know that this site exists and that it is a cool site to be on. You get to write as many reviews as long as it isn't flamebaiting; you get to write a top ten list of your favorite songs from your favorite artists, and you get to write stories that other users may enjoy.

We do meet the requirements. Right now we have 206 pages (our shortest one is 416 bytes); the mainpage right now is under construction for this but we do have pictures and links to our most important content; there is a clear structure of how users use categories in our category rules; our mainpage isn't protected; we do have applications for users to apply for rights but we don't have users applying for admin; we do have a welcome message; we have a custom skin; we hardly use offensive language or inappropriate images, and our wiki navigation is customized. Lego Marvel and DC Superheroes Wiki (approved)

Hello, I have come here, as you may have guessed, to request for a position on the wiki spotlight. The wiki I come to represent (legomarveldc.wikia.com) has 296 pages with very little stubs and all pages categorized appropriately. The wiki's background and skin is appropriate with its own custom logo found in the top left. There is a gallery in the front page with links to major categories including major articles. There are also several polls to keep the community active.

To highlight further details of my wiki, I have appropriate rules and editing guidelines for new editors to understand categorization. I take care in making sure information is proper and format is uniform across the same class.

In addition, I'd like to take some time to demonstrate why I want a wiki spotlight. Although my wiki, has many assets and is in fairly good shape I want more editors as there are only two active editors currently.

All in all, my wiki meets many if not all of the qualifications to apply for a spotlight. I'd appreciate if you get back to me as soon as time permits. Thanks in advance.

Eurovision Song Contest Wiki (approved)

So the Eurovision Song Contest is coming up in less than a week, and so I'd like to spotlight the wiki for this reason. The link to the wiki is here. I don't mind if the spotlight is a bit late.

• At the time of me writing this, we have 557 pages and the shortest one is just 305 bytes, so just skinning the minimum. Shortpages link
• The front page has four main images, the list of countries and the list of years. Furthermore, it also has been locked to prevent new/anonymous editors.
• Uncategorised Pages is empty!
• We are not in the middle of any upheavals as there are only two people (including myself) actively editing. We do get the odd anon, but very rarely.
• The MediaWiki:Welcome-user is on @latest.
• Community corner is VERY quiet and rarely gets changed because there really isn't much of a community, but it IS customised.
• The wiki does use a customised skin.
• Offensive language and images are not allowed, as the Eurovision Song Contest is a family show, so I don't expect to find any here.
• The requester (me) is the wiki's founder
• If we do get accepted for a spotlight, I'd like to have this image used

Bible Book Club

This spotlight request may be a bit unusual but I am trying this in hoping for a shot. I am planning on starting a Bible Book Club, via Wikia's Mini Book Club program. I am working some of the pre-start materials and was hoping that rather than the wiki hosting it (Biblicalapedia) has a spotlight, it links to the book club and promotes the book club itself rather than wiki. I would like to be able to do several promotional events all at once (via social media, spotlight, forum highlighting and mass messaging) in order to get a large audience interested in the book club.

I know the nature of this spotlight would usually be made by a ComDev or Marketing team member, but I am hoping perhaps it is possible to get this to work. I have more details in progress and would love to chat further to discuss the feasibility.

Hi Gerry. IT Knowledge Base looks good -- congratulations on reaching 200 content pages! There are a few tweaks that it would need to meet our Spotlight best practices. You would need to spruce up the main page with some images, and perhaps some additional on-site links to the content. If you are unsure how to change the design, you can request help from staff. In addition to the main page, there are quite a few uncategorized pages that would need sorting out. Hello. SuperMarioLogan Wiki would need a few tweaks in order to meet our spotlight criteria. The main page is in fairly good shape, but some of the code at the bottom is broken and would need to be fixed. IN addition I would ask to you to fill in the Community Corner. And finally, there are quite a few uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. Hello. The StarGate Wiki meets most of our best practices, but it will need a few tweaks in order to be spotlighted. First there are a bunch of uncategorized pages that need to be sorted out. The other issue is that the front page needs some sprucing -- more images and maybe a slider?, portal-style links to major types of content, and just general organizing so the content that is there is easier to find. Please let me know on my wall when you have taken care of these two things and I will be happy to check again.

The Library Wikia (approved)

I'm Senjumaru Shutara, founder and bureaucrat at The Library Wikia. The site's purpose is to archive and store both new and old fiction works. So far, the wikia has 333 pages, all categorized, a custom background, a picture on the main page (our Welcome message picture), and links to the Site Rules, About Page, Special:AllPages, and Special:CreatePage. Community Messages displays a copy of the About Page, and there is a fairly clear category listing on the site. The wikia is using the wikia welcome tool. Our shortest page is just above a stub at 314 bytes.

The reason I'm requesting a spotlight for the wiki is because I would like to build a community for it, to gain more stories and fiction and ultimately help the site achieve its purpose. We want people interested in Creative Writing. Simply put, we want more people who are interested in reading and writing to be on the project and help improve the site, and help make it one of the best fiction wikis there is.

We've been working hard on building the best possible experience for Sonny fans, and have introduced a new homepage, improved character pages, and more. We have 567 pages on the wiki.

House of Anubis Wiki (approved)

Hey. We're currently hoping to receive more feedback to our Wiki from more people who are interested in the Nickelodeon series "House of Anubis". "House of Anubis" is a groundbreaking hit Nickelodeon show and it has a massive amount of fans all around the world, that's why our wikia's community have decided that requesting a spotlight for our Wikia would be a great choice to receive new visitors. I'm Lady Lostris, the active administrator and bureaucrat on the Avatar Wiki. Even since the disabling of anonymous editing due to the COPPA legislation, we've encountered a decrease in active editors, which has reached a zenith now with the ending of The Legend of Korra. Although we're hopeful that the news of TLoK comics will bring new editors, we would also like to request a spotlight in hopes to attract more editors that way. While the wiki is in good shape, thus adhering to the set criteria of spotlights (with the exception of the category requirement, though that's because of a renaming bug that occurred when someone erroneously renamed a page, causing some of the comments to wind of as stand alone pages as opposed to comments. I filed a bug report of that once), there is still much to do, and we could really use the help. A discussion was held about this here, the conclusion of which in regards to a quote and image can be found at the top (the image is not cropped, but if you'd let me know what size it needs to be, I'll get it in order). By the way, the uncategorized pages list may be off. I've categorized those pages already, but they still show up as uncategorized, just click the pages listed there and you can see they're actually categorized (I may need to clear my cache or something). As for the main page, I categorized it in Browse because that's what the wiki uses to navigate some of the stuff easier, but for some reason, it just won't show up in the categories list at the bottom. If you go into the source code and scroll down to the bottom, you can see a Category:Browse link.

EDIT: I've found the reason the Browse category won't show up. The < ! -- arrow caused the rest of the code not to show up, so that was the culprit. I fixed it though. Also, the uncategorized pages section updated so there are no pages there since they all have categories now, it doesn't seem to update immediately.

Hello, I am Hamody Asgail an admin on the Dragon City Wikia, a wikia based on the Social Point ,Facebook and Android, app Dragon City, this wikia was created on 24/5/2012, and I joined it two years ago and became an admin in it a year ago, this wikia used to be a great community, but by the time some users and admins became bored with the game and most of then went to inactivity, at the time, only two admins are active, me one of them, and the number of our active users is becoming to decrease but the people who play the game and still love it are still there but some of them didn't find the way to the wikia, not to mention that there are other guides and help sites of this game online, I was hoping that you visit the wikia and launch a spotlight of it to tries and advertise it, for our community to be alive once more.

I am an Admin over at the SOG wiki, ( http://someordinarygamers.wikia.com/wiki/SomeOrdinaryGamers_Wiki ) and am interested in applying for a spotlight. We are a community of short fiction writers of all ages and skill levels, specializing in creepypastas, and more specifically, video-game related creepypastas. We are affiliated with the SomeOrdinaryGamers Youtube channel , which frequently posts narrations of our content. I believe we adequately meet all the criteria listed for eligibility, The only issue I've noted is that we have a few pages marked as uncategorized, but when I've checked them, they do appear to have categories, and given the nature of the Wiki these pages are accessible.

Hi Wikia! I'm here to make my annual request for a Spotlight for DWA, hopefully going up not too long after September 19th, although we have 13 weeks worth of on-series time to be Spotlighted if it's too late to get a spotlight for the late-September slot. I don't have an image right now for use or a caption, but I will come back and deliver those hopefully within the week once I have the time to find the best examples!

I think our wiki still meets all the criteria from last time. If not, just give me a buzz and we'll fix anything needing fixing.

Just on a side-note: one of these years, could we do one of those competition things at DWA like you hold on other wikis as an act of promotion? We are one of the biggest answers wikis on the network! I dunno, just something to think about.

LEGO Marvel/DC Wiki (approved)

Hello I am here on behalf of the wiki LEGO Marvel and DC Super Heroes Wiki (legomarveldc.wikia.com). I am an admin, bureaucrat and the founder of the aforementioned wiki. The wiki explores a wide range of topics revolving around the LEGO Marvel and DC universes including the video game and the sets. The wiki has nearly 600 pages (594 to be precise) and very few stub articles. Currently the wiki only has five active members and two active administrators. I hope to get the number of active users up by taking advantage of these promotional tools provided by wikia.

Hello. The King of Towers Wiki looks good and would just need a little bit of tweaking to meet the spotlight criteria. The main page is a bit of a jumble and would need to be reorganized so the main content is easier to find. If you need help with that you can request it here. The other thing is that you have about 170 stub-length pages, and would need to reduce that to about 140 to make it only 1/5th of your total content. All of the pages in Special:Shortpages are actually larger than they look, they are only in the special page because each of the pages in them were made with a shortcut with template code; they all have HQ images, an infobox as well as general text. Hey Merrystar,

As per our discussion at DWA just under a month ago, I am here to request another Spotlight for our wiki for some time in the next month or so, during what will be the beginning of the second half of the current series of Doctor Who. Can the image please be this one and can the caption be "We'll answer all your Dalek-table questions!".

The Special:UncategorisedPages problem is still present, but those pages all actually do have categories if you check the pages themselves. Those questions do need dealing with in good time and that should hopefully come about before you have the chance to respond.

Hi I am a bureaucrat for Ben 10 Planet a wiki about the franchise. I would like for the wiki to a get spotlight for the 10th anniversary of Ben 10. The show first premiered in December 27th 2005. Ben 10 will also get a reboot which will be launched worldwide in 2016. The wiki once had a spotlight requested several years ago, since the last spotlight we had an increase to over 3000 articles. Roller Coaster Wiki (approved)

Hi, I'm Dolphanatic, one of the main founders of Coasterpedia - The Roller Coaster Wiki and I'm requesting a spotlight for it. With over 1,400 articles and counting, and a partnership with the well-known roller coaster news and forum website COASTER-net, this self-sustaining wiki has been a great place to get information about all things roller coaster-related, from their history to track elements to specific roller coasters and their statistics for over five years!

However, despite all of this, the wiki has remained relatively obscure and could use some extra traffic, hence the reason why I'm requesting a spotlight. With the 2015 season closing with some new favorites opening this year, and with 2016 just around the corner, with a variety of new roller coasters planned to open, now would be a great time to spread the news about this wiki!

I've checked to make sure the wiki still fits the criteria, since it's been quite a while since the wiki's previous spotlight. It should be eligible, according to the guidelines.

Hello there, I am SonicKnucklesFan92, I am the creator and founder of my special wiki I built from scratch and is my very first wiki ever, Ophidia Wiki. It's like one huge wiki into one whole series, based on my studios and projects I want to make, come to life! I was hoping it can grow to be the best it can be and get a well supported nice little community going for it.

I'm basically running it on my own, but got some members to help and they wanted to see what it was and love it! We all think it may be ready for spotlight. We want others to see what an amazing little wiki it is.

The Long Dark Wiki (approved)

Hello. I'm one of the admins on The Long Dark Wiki. A wiki for the upcoming open-world survival game The Long Dark. The game has been in early access release on Steam for some time now and has more recently been released on Xbox One. The full version of the game - which includes the highly anticipated story mode - is very close to release (ETA Dec 2015-Jan 2016).

I would like to request a spotlight for The Long Dark Wiki as it would greatly help attract new readers and contributors to learn about this fantastic game and help further build the wiki. I believe that the wiki is well within the specified best practises criteria. Furthermore, the wiki has been interlanguage linked with the Russian The Long Dark Wiki (and soon several others) and a large number of pages are interlanguage linked. Zombie Escape Wiki

Hello, I'm the founder of the Zombie Escape Wiki and have recently completely revamped it to a better state. I wanted to popularise this modification for Counter-Strike: Source and it helped enormously for a lot of the newer players to get acquainted with many terms used in the mod and with help on the (most popular) maps. It has since gone down for CSS but since Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has gotten tons and tons of players and more are starting to discover the ZE world again, it would finally be a good time to request for a spotlight

Hello. Zombie Escape Wiki looks good but it would need a few tweaks in order to be spotlighted. The main page columns would need to be sorted out so they do not overlap on smaller-width ("Desktop") screens. You have a few uncategorized pages that would need to be sorted. Finally, there are more than 200 pages in the stub category; in order to be spotlighted you would need to have no more than 1/5th of your content (roughly 80 pages) in that category. Hypothetical Hurricanes looks much better, but in order to be spotlighted you would need to straighten out the main page -- it looks like you have some nice content there but the layout makes it very hard to tell, and there is incomplete markup code visible in places. Hi! So unfortunately Austin & Ally is reaching its series finale which airs January 10 so we would like a spotlight for the Austin & Ally Wiki. We really need this spotlight as soon as possible so please add it as soon as you can. The image we would like to use is below. Encyclopedia Gamia

I'm not sure if Encyclopedia Gamia qualifies under the strictest interpretation of the rules mentioned on the Spotlight page. However, Gamia has a rather unique history and set of circumstances. Specifically, Encyclopedia Gamia, formerly Wikia Gaming has been the target of many merges of other Video Game wikis from across Wikia. It has also suffered from one particular user who imported ~17,000 articles from Wikipedia; this combined has resulted in broken articles and one big mess that is still being sorted out.

However, we have made numerous changes and improvements across the wiki. Encyclopedia Gamia now sports a dedicated infobox for video games, as well as several smaller ones used for non-gaming software, etc. It also now has fair use and image categorization systems, as well as an improved list of licenses for uploaded content. The work is nowhere near finished, but we now have a solid foundation to move the Wiki forward and bring it's outdated content kicking and screaming into 2016.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 22:36, January 8, 2016 (UTC)

LEGO Games Wiki (postponed)

I would like to spotlight the LEGO Games Wiki to promote the upcoming game LEGO Marvel's Avengers. I am an admin and the most active user of the site. The wiki already has 3,064 pages and I just cleared out the UncategorizedPages. The short pages less than 300 bytes take up 12% of the wiki, which is less than a fifth (20%). No, that change has been cancelled. It seemed like a good idea, but applying that change got awkward. So, my request for spotlight is back on. I'd want to have a community, that way if I ever think of changes, I would do a community vote instead of being such a flip-flop. Sheesh, I really should make up my mind. In case your wondering, that big change is splitting up characters between games and making a general page for each character. The old system was each variant of each character gets their own pages and variants from different games can share a page if they're similar enough. However, with redesigns, the Clone Wars, and LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7, there are some grey areas that are confusing to whether the variants are the same or not. The game split should help remove those problems. As for what was stopping the change, I think it's just my nostalgia not liking change. So I think I should just go through with it and give it at least a month. As for now, the spotlight request has been postponed until March. SeanWheeler (talk) 15:56, January 17, 2016 (UTC)

Me and the other admin of Suikoden Wikia would like to request for a spotlight. We already chosen an image to be use for the spotlight and it is w:c:suikoden:File:Spotlight Image.PNG and for the caption "Be the master of your fate and change destiny."

LEGO Marvel and DC Super Heroes Wiki!

My name is Rapmilo and I am the administrator and bureaucrat of LEGO Marvel and DC Super Heroes Wiki (legomarveldc.wikia.com)

I would like to apply for spotlight as I meet all the best practices requirements as outlined by the Wikia Spotlight page. In brief our wiki has 905 pages of which 20 are stubs (under 200 bytes). The wikia uses no profane or vulgar and has a customized and curated main page with links to featured articles. The wiki also has a customized community corner and a customized favicon and word mark.

Please consider my request and let me know if I get accepted.

Also, if it is possible, can the staff who reviews these requests allow for me to get a specified picture for the spotlight. If so please use the main screen art of the game, LEGO Marvel's Avengers, for the spotlight; that would be much appreciated.

Eagles Wikia

Hello, it's me. I was wondering if I could get a Spotlight for my Wiki. No, not for an Adele Wiki, but for a Wiki dedicated to the American rock band Eagles, I just couldn't think of something good for the introduction. It is a Wiki about one of the most successful bands of all time, with hits such as Take It Easy, One of These Nights, Desperado, Take It to the Limit and, of course, how can I not mention Hotel California, consisting of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmit. But the Wiki reaches further than that; of course it's also about former members Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner and Don Felder and the (sadly) recently deceased founding member Glenn Frey. Their solo careers are included as well and there are polls where anyone can give his pick for the best Eagles songs and albums. Eagles Wikia is a quite new Wiki and almost as a whole created by me, but it's still far from finished. Because help is always appreciated, I would like to attract fellow Eagles fans and therefore I want to request a Spotlight for Eagles Wikia so we can Build the Perfect Beast (Yes! Finally! An Eagles reference! Or actually a Don Henley reference, but fair enough)
