isn't it better to use less code which does the same thing (font color red instead of span style color hex) to save bandwidth/space/whatever? to me, I prefer b to style text-style bold. --Me at work 02:13, 15 Feb 2005 (GMT)

I think CSS-trained people have an inherent distaste for the <font> tag . . . --GreenReaper(talk) 03:13, 15 Feb 2005 (GMT)
Personally, I think the font tag and other html formatting is easier. But, I am using this as an opportunity to learn css (among other things). I think the triple quotes for bold are easier than the bold tag or the css command. There seems to be a wiki preference for css, I guess because it does let you change the formatting consistently across the site. I'd like to understand the trade-offs and reasons better. --CocoaZen 03:34, 15 Feb 2005 (GMT)
<font> is a deprecated tag, which is why it's preferable to use <span>. Angela 03:44, 15 Feb 2005 (GMT)

"Wikian" Edit

A Wikian is anyone who edits or contributes to any Wikia wiki

So... what do you call someone who edits or contributes to any wiki, period? -PanSola 03:17, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Crazy! ::ducks:: Actually, I don't know that there's a term, other than "wiki editor"... Mindspillage (spill yours?) 13:33, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
From a Google search, I didn't find much use of the term "Wikian" to describe wiki editors prior to Wikia. I guess they were just called "wiki editors". However, I did find pictures tagged with "wikian" in my search, and according to Flickr, Wikian is also a mythical ancestral god of the Ifugao tribe. See the photo.  :) Angela (talk)
