Summary Edit

Where this map diverges from our timeline is at the Industrial Revolution, as it doesn't take off as much in this timeline. Because of this, the Bolshevik party in Russia doesn't get enough support and fail to establish Communism in Russia. They are banished to Prussia, where they take over the government by force. They are at constant war with the Czar and his empire. Spain and Portugal go to war over a land dispute and Spain comes out victorious, taking Portugal for themselves, while also expanding into Northern Africa. When the Archduke of Austria is assassinated, rather than leading to World War I, it results in a civil war, as no one part of the empire can place full blame on the other. Hungary leaves the empire to crumble until German soldiers come and ransack the capital, claim Austria for themselves. When World War I finally does happen, the Germans are well prepared and have made allies with the Czar and the Ottomans. They successfully come to a peace agreement with their enemies, stopping the fighting after one year. As Poland becomes an independent nation in 1917, the Germans are establishing their government in Switzerland and the Netherlands. They gave Belgium to France in their peace agreement. The German Empire officially becomes Deuschlande, and they are an economic powerhouse in Europe. Poland gains independence in 1918 and is a rising power in Europe. Because of the First World War not resulting in a deep recession for Germany, the Nazi party never even forms, thus World War II never happens in Europe, as all the fighting is done in Asia. The biggest effect is the Jewish population in Europe and computers are invented much later or not at all, as computers were only conceived to crack Nazi codes during World War II, but it didn't happen. Denmark goes to war with Sweden, Norway and Finland for territorial needs. Sweden, Norway and Finland combine to create the Republic of Norway. After a year of fighting, Denmark takes half of Scandinavia and Iceland and though a treaty was signed relations are still bitter. Italy becomes an empire after taking over Albania and parts of Northern Africa, previously owned by the Free Republic of Libya who took it along with Algeria. After World War I the Ottomans loose a lot of land in the Middle East, land then claimed by Arabia, now ruling over the entirety of the Arabian Peninsula. Iraq and Syria ally against Persia in a sort of Cold War, where no full war breaks out. This is regulated by the Russians, as they are allies with both sides and fighting could deal a blow to their economy.
