Is there any way to attribute the new page to my account? Or is it forever attributed to a random IP address?

Edits cannot be reattributed. 22px-Logo.svg.png22?cb=20160405123310 22?cb=20170831223041 22:51, November 17, 2012 (UTC)
Edits cannot be reattributed without direct database access. - FTFY. -452 18:27, November 18, 2012 (UTC)
The easiest thing you can do is delete the page and recreate it. If you're not an admin yourself, you may need to log out and post a comment proving you're the same user.
A more advanced way to it would be to import an revision with a date from before the actual creation of the page, which would appear before the IP date, but I don't think it would appear in your history, or the new page log, which is what I imagine you're interested in. -452 18:27, November 18, 2012 (UTC)
If you're the admin you can do the following (if you're not, you can ask an admin to do it for you):
1. Export the page
2. delete the page
3. edit the XML to change the attribution
4. import the XML file
This will change the attribution of the edits, but it's quite a lot of work.

You're right, that's a better solution than my suggestion. Non-admins can only access Special:Export, not Special:Import, so admin assistance is needed regardless. -452 03:45, November 19, 2012 (UTC)

Thank ya kindly for the advice. Unfortunately, the wiki in question is dead, and the admin seems to have not logged in for months. I guess I should have known that an admin would be necessary. And it's not so much about the credit (though of course it's nice) as it is about my IP address being exposed. Anyway, I'm gonna contact Wikia staff to see if they can help. Take care, ya'll.  Mint Vanilla  2012-11-19T07:15Z
