Openlayers is an open source maps tool. I copied the following description from their web site:

"OpenLayers makes it easy to put a dynamic map in any web page. It can display map tiles and markers loaded from any source. MetaCarta developed the initial version of OpenLayers and gave it to the public to further the use of geographic information of all kinds. OpenLayers is completely free, Open Source JavaScript, released under the BSD License."

I think it could be a great idea to add the ability to display OpenLayers maps in Wikia wikies. I can tell you I could use it in my Kwish wiki (in cooperation with "FreeMap Israel", an Israeli open content GIS project), and I am sure many other wikies, such as those about specific geographical regions could too.

So what do you think? and tech stuff - could this be done?
