Hello,

I've been trying to scour the forums and help articles here to see if this has been brought up and adressed, but I haven't been having any luck.

On a wikia I help run - Celestial Refresh Wiki - we use createplates to give users pre-defined fields and formatting when creating new pages based on the type of page they want to create. I can only assume that it has something to do with the most recent wikia update, but a little while ago, our createplates just stopped working properly. While we can create a blank page, trying to utilize ANY of the createplates - or even previewing what is to be created - will result in an error screen:

I assured our users that this was probably just some bug with the new wikia software, but this has been going on for a couple weeks now, and riverting any changes to the createplates made between now and back when they worked doesn't help.

Smart, a scan of this thread - doesn't show any reports of the same issue, but I don't think many wikis use createplates any more RandomTime 18:02, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

If it was a couple of weeks ago than that was around the time that the new 'layout builder' was introduced for testing on a number of wikis ! (coincidence ?)! Try posting in the blog for Layout Builder Testing or asking User:Kirkburn who I think has had involvement developing/testing with both page creation systems. -   BulldozerD11   talk    contribs    email   17:34, February 11, 2011 (UTC)

So then here's the question: anyone know when the wikia staff will get back to me on this? It's been almost 3 weeks since I sent in a ticket about it. Not having the createplates is annoying, but what's really bugging me about this is that I haven't even gotten a correspondence or anything from them.Keeeen 18:13, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

If your e-mail address is not setup right in preferences or some other problem (spam filter on your e-mail account), you may not get the reply from Wikia correctly. This problem is also happening on Alone in the Dark wiki, see Forum:RE: problem with Alone in the dar.

CreatePlates is being actively phased out, and now only exists on a few wikis that are still active AND using it. Some coming improvements to LayoutBuilder will be attempting to meet the usecases of these wikis, and once completely phased out, it will be retired entirely. --Uberfuzzy 08:13, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
