Hey, so I've been thinking. Wikipedia and some other wikis have a policy where if you ask for permission for an image from someone, you have to ask them to either release them into the public domain or give it a CC-BY-SA license where everyone can use it, including people using it for commercial purposes.

So can I just have it to where you don't have to ask the person to change the license, just ask for permission? Or is that just against Wikia's standards in itself? If it is, I don't know what this template is doing here in the first place... Thesaurus Rex 02:00, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

That's a wikipeda policy, you don't need to have it on your wiki - images that the uploader has given permission can be used -- RandomTime 02:09, August 3, 2011 (UTC)

See Copyright information section of this post to get an idea about how you should handle image licensing and some of how Wikia looks at it. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 2 Aug 2011 9:34 PM Pacific
