A few users have concerns that there may be more than one wikia with the same topic. These wikia include the original Avatar Wiki (the main wikia about Avatar), The Avatar World, and Avatar the Last Airbender Movies. Avatar Wiki admins have discussed and have come to a conclusion that the other wikia related to avatar are not needed. The original Avatar Wiki is about everything related to Avatar. But some others claim that other wikia (Avatar Movies and World) are indeed different than the original Avatar Wiki. I would like thoughts and opinions about this. Some useful links to read are the following: [1] [2] [3]. Thank you, RyanCross (talk) 23:40, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

It wasn't just Kevin who created a new wikia, (Avatar Movies Wiki, or whatever). ChaosMaster16 was the one who requested The Avatar World. This may mean that ChaosMaster16 should be blocked, too. Energybender 23:48, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

A block? The only reason Kevin was blocked because he was disruptive to Avatar Wiki. Was ChaosMaster16 disruptive at all? I don't think so. But its up to the wiki's admins to decide that... unless I'm missing something. -- RyanCross (talk) 00:03, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

ChaosMaster16 was not disruptive at all, he's the one who redid the Main Page when the new Monaco skin was to be used as the standard skin for all Wikias, and when he didn't like the two column format, he changed it so it would still fit the skin and it ended up looking better than before. He's also helped a lot with templates before Zero2001 came by. No need to take disciplinary action with him, just the duplicates wikias have to go. Omnibender - Talk 00:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

The Avatar Movies wiki has just been applied to, it isn't an actual wiki yet. Howabout1-(Talk) 00:18, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

For the sake of Avatar Wiki, RyanCross, please make sure it never is an actual Wikia. Energybender 00:20, 1 September 2008 (UTC) \

My wikia was created if anyone wants to join here is the URL http://avatarmovies.wikia.com/wiki/Avatar_the_Last_Airbender_Movies.Kevin 03:40, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Apparently it was approved. Do they check to make sure there are no similar wiki's before approving one? Howabout1-(Talk) 05:16, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Not sure. By the looks of it, User:CatherineMunro created it. I'll contact her about it. -- RyanCross (talk) 05:18, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi, guys! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We'll have to look into it and figure out how to handle it. When ChaosMaster16 put in his request for Theavatarworld, he said that he'd checked with the admins on Avatar, and that this was a separate project.
We do allow people to create "spin-off" wikis when a particular topic is big enough to warrant it -- for example, we've got DC Database, as well as separate, active wikis for DC Animated, Smallville, Batman, Green Lantern, and Green Arrow. Sometimes a franchise is big enough to support multiple wikis.
So it's not always easy to tell whether a wiki request is a "spin-off", or just a duplicate. We get lots of new wiki requests every day, so it's not suprising if something slips through every once in a while that's more of a duplicate than we realized. I'll talk to Catherine about these new Avatar wikis, and we'll get back to you soon. Thanks again for bringing this up! -- Danny@Wikia (talk) 16:01, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

So what is going to happen to the wikias? also howabout1 protected my user page and he removed all of the contents on the page! For no reason accept that I reomoved the disscussion closed on my page!Kevin (Lets Chat)

I'm not sure yet... I want to get Catherine in on the conversation, and it's a holiday today, so she's not around. We'll make sure to talk to everyone involved before we make any decisions or changes.
For your user page on Avatar -- it looks like they were concerned about you continuing to edit your page after you were blocked from the wiki. That happens sometimes. -- Danny@Wikia (talk) 00:08, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Well, I hope you can fix it.Kevin (Lets Chat)

Not saying you would do anything about it, but would you mind letting us handle Kevin in-house? All the admins are in agreement he deserves to be blocked, and we don't want him editing his talk page. Howabout1-(Talk) 01:58, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Absolutely, I wasn't planning on getting involved there. You guys are doing a great job with Avatar, and that was a community decision that was arrived at after a lot of discussion. My only concern at the moment is responding to the complaint about the duplicate wikis. -- Danny@Wikia (talk) 04:04, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
