I would love feedback on this before I do it. Some of my friends and I are thinking on creating a HELP RESOURCE WIKI that is almost like the wikia site BUT the difference is that the user would create a review, like Angie's List, and in turn others will fall suit. The listings of ALL wiki's are hard enough if some, if not most, of them are inactive or stale after numerous months, or years, of inactivity. This wiki should help those to revitalize the wiki ( or wikis) in question to get better. However, there is another feature to this and that is that the user (or users) could elaborate on what a wiki(s) should or shouldn't do in their wiki(s). Before you post a reply asking, let me say that there will be a systematic way of listing. Privately owned should be in a separate listing (or not listed by the bureaucratic or sysops wishes) from entertainment. Yes, if there is a wide range of characteristics of a listing, like entertainment for an example, we will break it into sub-domain resource like sports related entertainment will go into both sports entertainment (main listing), live entertainment (secondary main listing), television (alternate and main, or minor, listing). I hope that I have elaborated enough to give you an idea on what my friends and my idea. If you still are in doubts of any of this, please reply with your questions and I or my friends will try our best to give you more elaborate answer. You can simply make it... ...but I wouldn't because:
  1. Criticizing other wikis would make the wiki's community sad.
  2. That's basically... erm... forums. Why don't you use phpBB forums instead?

Also, you should really do this yourself. This really isn't what Wikia is for, but if you wish. --..Jeff (Talk!) (Contribs!) (Email!) (Blog!).. 16:40, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

We are not trying to criticize anyone but on the other hand we are. I meant by it as point out some flaws (or any problems like vandals, ideas to make their wiki's work, and/or suggestions on better the wiki) is what I really wanted to word it but thank you for pointing that out. I should have my editor reread the postings before I post them. Sorry about that. Please forgive me. Our main goal is to help those who needs the most help on their wiki's is the main vocal point I was making in the first post with people reviewing and giving their honest thoughts about that wiki. Oh. Well, that's basically the slow-paced forums. But I like your idea. --..Jeff (Talk!) (Contribs!) (Email!) (Blog!).. 00:16, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
Wouldn't feedback like this be better served on the actual Wiki in question? Otherwise the wiki regulars will have to frequently visit another wiki just to see how they could improve, rather than looking at an appropriate page on their own wiki, which would be edited by that wiki's regulars. Plus the fact that, if I was a newcomer to a site and had some ideas on how to improve it, I'd look for a suitable forum within that site to review it/criticise it/feedback on it, rather than leave the site to search for somewhere else to give my judgements. I don't mean to put your idea down, but I think it can be done better. Why not use your time visiting existing wikis and suggesting improvements? OllieMartin 08:11, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
You got a point there, OllieMartin. Don't they discuss it in the actual wiki? Besides, if you told them what to do to improve they probably won't listen. --..Jeff (Talk!) (Contribs!) (Email!) (Blog!).. 12:06, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
A site with a list of wikis and reviews is http://wikiindex.org/ . If that's what you're planning, I suggest joining that one instead of creating a new one. --◄mendel► 23:39, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
