Is there any way to have this lovely forum system on other Wikia? On the Command and Conquer Wiki wat the moment we have a Forum namespacePage which is just like a boring talk page. It would be nice to have a system with threads like this Wikia one. {{SUBST:User:Snow93/Template:Mysig}} 12:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

Yep! I put one in under w:c:cnc:Forum:Index -- you can see how it was done, add new forums, or change the ones you have by seeing the help at w:c:starter:Help:Forums. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 15:24, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Sannse also wrote a useful page: Help:Forums, which seems to be the same as the one on starter.wikia ;-) --rieke 16:34, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for this Mindspillage. I am trying to set one up for administrators on the Psychology wikiLifeartist 15:30, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
I've got into an awful tangle and have been trying to get this to work for almost four hours, just cannot see where I am going wrong. I want to set up a forum called "Admin discussion forum" on the psychology wiki. I have followed the instructions to the letter but no joy. I have edited the Forum:Index page and then put the code into the Forum:Admin discussion forum that is created. But when I edit a new item it does not include it on the list, although in recent changes you can see the page has been created. I have made various changes to the code but cannot get the forum to operate. Can someone have a look at it for me. On the Help:Forums}} page it says you need forums to be implemented on your wiki is this why its not working?Lifeartist 22:13, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
I think it is all working now. Had to remove a few nowiki tags and categorize the forum pages. Check my contribs there for specifics. We'll try to improve Help:Forums to make it easier to use. --Splarka (talk) 04:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

I got a little trick you could add. here (Sorry, I couldn't get the innerwiki linking to the wikia.) It's not much, kinda like a small voting trick.
I have a answers template containing the list of pages under it for answers that can be dished out in a bit of a poll(Answers List). The Forum topic page uses a link [{{SERVER}}{{localurl:{{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}|action=edit&section=new&preload=Template:Answer/yes&editintro=Template:Answer}} Yes] Which preloads an answer into the edit box when they click on the answer link. Using the includeonly trick on the Answer page when the thing is preloaded into the edit box the 2 includeonly, and 2 /includeonly tags dissapear and the 2 sections of ~~ come together, so while the Template says <includeonly>~~</includeonly><includeonly>~~</includeonly> the edit box dishes out ~~~~, poof, to vote all someone does is click the link of the answer they want to give, then hit Save Page and the answer is given, with a instant signature. They can even write up a comment above it if they want.
Oh ya, to give it the forum feel, I forced the + link to show up at the top, and Added a Post button to make a section, just a little extra. dantman 01:57, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
