When I look at the page history for an article, anything that is new since my last visit has the words updated since my last visit. In the Monobook skin, that phrase is highlighted in green. In the Oasis skin it is not. The green highlighting is very useful. So, I was wondering if anyone knows the JS/CSS to cause the same revision-history highlighting with the Oasis skin? Thanks! — SpikeToronto 23:46, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm.. is that a custom feature you're talking about? I don't recall having such a feature on any wikis I edit. I'm sure that if you posted a link to any history page with this text enabled, we could think of something to highlight it. — Sovq 05:55, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
- UPDATE: No, it is not a customization. It is Wikia-wide in the Monobook skin. The image on the left shows the Monobook revision history for a page here at Community Central indicating what is new since my last visit with the phrase Updated since my last visit highlighted in green. The image on the right shows the Oasis revision history for the same page here at Community Central indicating what is new since my last visit with the phrase Updated since my last visit not highlighted in green. I cannot find anything in MediaWiki:Common.css, MediaWiki:Common.js, MediaWiki:Monobook.css, and/or MediaWiki:Monobook.js that is causing this. So, I assume that it is part of the Wikia implementation of the software. I also reckon that there must be some magical CSS/JS code that can make it happen with the Oasis skin. <fingers crossed> Thanks! — SpikeToronto 06:39, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
- You can add to your global.css (or whatever css) this:
span.updatedmarker { background-color: lime; /* Or whatever color */ }
(Reset indent) Eureka! It works!! The image on the right shows the Oasis revision history for a page here at Community Central indicating what is new since my last visit with the phrase Updated since my last visit very much highlighted in green. Oh, and you were right TJ, I had forgotten to mention that it only applies to pages on one’s watchlist. Thanks TJ!! — SpikeToronto 09:37, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
