Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you a quick heads-up about an advertising change that we are making on search result pages. Starting today, we are adding Google AdSense to search results, similar to the text ads that are shown on Google and Yahoo search results pages. In most cases, there isn't anything that you need to do; however, if you have customized any of the messages that affect the way that search results are displayed, you may see unexpected results. If you see something strange, take a look at the following messages on your local wiki to see if any of them may be causing the problems that you see on the search results page:

As with most other ads, these new ads will only show to users who are not logged in to an account. If you have any questions, or see anything unusual, please let me know. Thanks! --KyleH (talk) 23:46, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

What wikis is this on?

I only see some of these MediaWiki: pages on WoWWiki.com (c:wow:MediaWiki:Searchresulttext, c:wow:MediaWiki:Notitlematches, and c:wow:MediaWiki:Nonefound). -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 5:13 PM PST 1 May 2009

The new ads are on all of our wikis. You will only see those MediaWiki pages if you have customized the versions of those messages locally. If the wiki hasn't customized those messages locally, then you won't see any of those pages. Also, I should note that WoWWiki has a different search engine than the rest of Wikia, so not all of this applies to WoWWiki. --KyleH (talk) 17:26, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
