I've seen some information about how to do this on the web, but it has not quite been in the format for wiki tables. Since Wiki tables are "disguised HTML tables", it seems that what is possible for HTML tables, should be possible within Wiki tables as well.

I'd be happy to try my hand at adapting what I've seen for HTML tables to Wkiki tables, but don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has already done this....

Do you mean by putting a table inside a box of set height that scrolls, or do you mean by using a table and making cells scrollable? Either way, it involves putting the content you want inside, for example, a div. So for example <div style="overflow:auto; height:200px;">blah</div>. Wow! That worked like a champ! Check out Jerome's Sandbox to see the results. Only thing that would be more cool would to be to have the column headers stay in place while the body data scrolls (I tried moving the div statements inside of the table, but it didn't work). Also, I learned a lot from your template for your user page. I've morphed that into a signature that I can use on all of the wikis that I play on now. Thank you for your help!

You could achieve a nonscrolling header row after a fashion by making two tables. You wouldn't get auto cell alignment as you would with a single table, but if your cell content is known in advance such that you know how wide they should be you can manually adjust things so they line up. Then just tweak the cell widths until they line up, I changed you example so you can see what it looks like (Jerome's Sandbox). --Tlosk 20:49, March 26, 2010 (UTC)
