I just wanted to post a similar question. Have been searching wikia/wikipedia/wikimedia Help pages for quite some time, but all show/hide features I found did not seem to work on the page I wanted to use it for. The show/hide code at Wikipedia used to work on Wikia wikis without modification, but Wikia has gotten more out of sync with Wikipedia (different versions of the MediaWiki engine and lots of extensions), so code from Dev wiki is usually the best way to go. You need to actually add the .js and .css code to your site to be able to use the show/hide features otherwise using the navframes does nothing
