How do you create an edit notice on Wikia? Edit notices are messages that appear when you edit specific pages, that can notify the user of what they can edit and what they cannot, or rules that they have to follow. I first saw a Wikia edit notice on the Children's Books Wiki, where two edit notices showed up (don't actually create the page, please). I would like to now how to create these edit notices. I tried simply copying the source code from Wikipedia, but that doesn't work. CobraStrike (t)(b)(c) 14:22, June 27, 2012 (UTC)

Edit notices can be created in the same way as on Wikipedia, but the limitation is that while magic words, parser functions and templates work, other wikitext doesn't. So you can create an edit notice at MediaWiki:Editnotice-0 for the mainspace for instance, MediaWiki:Editnotice-1 for talk pages, MediaWiki:Editnotice-3 for user pages etc. If you want to emulate Wikipedia's approach closely, just create those MediaWiki pages with only a template, and then create that template. Is there any way to make edit notices on specific pages, or on forums, since Wikipedia does not have a numeric tag for forums (being that there are no forums on Wikipedia). --CobraStrike (t)(b)(c) 14:25, June 28, 2012 (UTC)
