Hi I am new in wikia,

I am wondering is it possible to remove the "One the wiki" of my wikia site.

Thanks. —This unsigned comment is by SCCLWIKIA (wallcontribs). Please sign your comments by adding "~~~~" in the source editor.

No sadly. It is also impossible to edit that. When the updated nav came in... oh a few months ago, it removed an old button for "Random page". This meant that the Staff had to make all wikis share the "on the wiki" dropdown. So that all the wikis still had the random page button in the same place. In other words this is to help viewers not users. I understand your problem. I'd like to remove the "new photos" link, or at least change it to "new pages" on my wiki. I'll have a look through Special:AllMessages to see if one can change the "on the wiki" name if that helps you? :) Starfleet Academy 03:42, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
If you want to change the name I've found it: Go to your wiki and search for "MediaWiki:Oasis-on-the-wiki". I'm not sure what you'd change it to, but change it to what ever you want. I'd suggest you don't use links, and wikitext/html doesn't work in it. Hope this helps... :) Starfleet Academy 03:50, March 29, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. It is ok for now.

is there anyway to hide the changes made by the Bureaucrats, ie. I don't other users to see the changes I have made in my wikia via the Latest activity or Recent Wiki Activity —This unsigned comment is by SCCLWIKIA (wallcontribs). Please sign your comments by adding "~~~~" in the source editor.

Why? I'm not sure on that one. I think that is in direct conflict with the openness of wikis. May I ask which wiki are we talking about here? —This unsigned comment is by SCCLWIKIA (wallcontribs). Please sign your comments by adding "~~~~" in the source editor.
Oh and you can deactivate the new navigation if you like? Sorry forgot to say that before. ;) Starfleet Academy 05:16, March 29, 2012 (UTC)
No, you can't hide your edits. That just invites abuse by admins. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 29 Mar 2012 2:54 PM Pacific
.
Thanks. Starfleet Academy & Fandyllic,
I actually want to have 3 type of user rights, an admin (overall controller), a normal registered user (can only edit specific pages), and a unregistered user (can view only). my wikia is
http://huayiproject.wikia.com. —This unsigned comment is by SCCLWIKIA (wallcontribs). Please sign your comments by adding "~~~~" in the source editor.
That's impossible; Wikia will not allow that. Maybe if you try another wiki host. --..Jeff (Talk!) (Contribs!) (Email!) (Blog!).. 02:41, March 30, 2012 (UTC)
Jeff is right. More information on Wikia's user rights can be found at Help:User access levels. I have found your problem; you are trying to make a English language wiki into a Chinese wiki. You might be able to change your wiki's language. This would help I think (only if it changes the "On the wiki" to Chinese.) There is a backdoor way by changing all the MediaWiki pages that title the options under "On the move". But this would only need doing if you can't change a wiki's language. Since I don't know tagging staff needed. A staff member should answer here shortly... :) Starfleet Academy 05:04, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Please sign your posts at the end with ~~~~; other users keep having to add {{|Unsigned|SCCLWIKIA}} at the end of your edit Sam Wang 05:36, March 30, 2012 (UTC)

Wikia Staff handle can change your wiki language, but please send in a Special:Contact request --daNASCAT WikiaStaff.png (help forum | blog) 17:38, March 30, 2012 (UTC)
