Hello. I am having some problems with the Monaco sidebar on the Doctor Who Collectors Wiki. The code is correct, however what actually displays in the sidebar is nothing like what i want.

Does anyone know what is wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Tardis1963 02:02, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

The code seems to match what I see on the sidebar. What exactly do you see that is different? ~Joey~ ^Talk^ 02:58, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
This is because his language in his prefs is not the same as the one of the wiki.
On an english wiki, MediaWiki:Monaco-sidebar will contain the sidebar for people who have english in their preferences. To edit the sidebar for user wich have another language in their prefs, edit MediaWiki:Monaco-sidebar/xx where xx is the language code (de for german, fr for french, etc.). — TulipVorlax 04:05, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! I changed my language from English to British English, without thinking there might be a problem. I put it back to English and it works fine now! Tardis1963 04:09, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

How to link within sidebar?

Hi,

I'm still pretty new and learning how to do stuff...
When I read this post I went through the sidebar and noticed that I can't figure out how the linking occurs.

Take for example the sidebar of the doctor-who-collectors wikia > items realeased by year > items released in 1999

You can click the link and you'll be redirected to the correct page, but how?
In the source for their sidebar are only codes for listing the items.
I'm obviously missing something obvious here, can someone please help me out?

thanks

The sidebar uses a slightly different code style to the rest of the wiki - mostly simply, they don't need the square brackets around the links. You can find out more on Help:Sidebar. Kirkburn  talk  contr  @Wikia  16:10, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, this is what I've been looking for. I'll dig into it right away!
Cheers, --Igui 08:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
