Did anyone else noticed that ads are starting to move from left-to-right across the page? These ads are annoying, and they can only be closed by closing the x box. There is also that Flashforward ad, which is also moving the Main Page downwards upon uploading the page. This too requires clicking the x box to close. Also, how exactly is http://flashforward.wikia.com/ an "official" wiki? Does ABC or the Flashforward producers endore Wikia's new wiki? Did ABC tell Wikia to advertise Flashforward or something? I'm not angry; I just would like to know some answers. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:56, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
- I'd like to know how they can be featured with less than 100 articles. -- LordTBT Talk! 21:37, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
- The main page says: This fansite is NOT in any way, shape, or form affiliated with ABC, or Disney. --Ciencia Al Poder (talk) -WikiDex 17:50, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
- The ad said "official wiki", so the ad is misleading readers. It should be changed. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:01, September 22, 2009 (UTC)

(in order)
- The sliding ad for the survey thing was a special premium ad purchase. we sometimes do run things like that from time to time. the results and impact from this one is being closely monitored. many things are being learned from this.
- Havent seen the flashforward ad personally, but that may be the first of a new type of pulldown ad that we are developing. its likely not being used very widespread, or being targeted to a certain area of wikia.
- No idea on the ABC stuff, but like it was pointed out, fansites dont need to get the blessing of the show/producers/networks to do things.
- @LordTBT and the featured < 100 articles, we make those rules, we can break them for our own reasons.
- Any suggestions of what "should be changed" really need to make sure that it makes it to staff, you can do this by using Special:Contact
- I have no idea of the details of anything involved in that stuff, but given the amount of viral marketing that ABC is doing for FF on its own, I dont think they are going have a leg to stand on in claiming we stop using video. Its both bad public relations, and bad promotion, and bad fansite juju to do so.

- Like I said, the ad says "official", and fan-sites can't be official. This is misleading. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 13:12, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
- You guys may want to ask these questions on the FlashForward wiki itself. -- Danny

- See w:c:flashforward:Template talk:LatestNews; they ignore me there. Also, Wikia is responsible and accountable for the ads and spotlights. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 12:32, September 27, 2009 (UTC)

Popup Window
For the Flashforward Wiki ads that are now appearing on my main page, one of them opens up a new window with the Flashforward Wiki in it. This is not acceptable. -- LordTBT Talk! 21:03, October 28, 2009 (UTC)

- *Ahem, take two* Problems regarding advertisements and their content or formats should be reported to Wikia Support so they can be reviewed and forwarded to the most appropriate advertising team. You can report things via email, to community@wikia.com, or via our online support form at Special:Contact. It would be very helpful for us if you were to use the form from your wiki, at w:c:redwall:Special:Contact, so that it is correctly recorded which wiki the problem is at. Remember to supply as much detailed information as you can, such as link URL, source images for the ads on the page, or even screenshots of what the problem is. You can find more information about gathering this type of information at Help:Bad ads. --Uberfuzzy

- Fuzzy, it's only slightly patronizing that you're linking me to the Bad Ads page. -- LordTBT Talk! 04:29, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
- That wasn't the intention :) Uberfuzzy was listening to criticism that his reply was too abrupt, and was answering more fully for you and for any other users reading. The pop-under ads are temporary, and hopefully a one off. I expect them to be gone in a couple of days, and should show no more than once a day until then. Thanks for bearing with us -- sannse
