I recently changed admin option of default skin on w:c:sca21, then back again to MonoBook following feedback. Since then my personal preference for Quartz smoke seems to have no effect on sca21, though it does appear on other wikis I visit. Also notice the 'try new skin' link, top right of monobook, doesn't seem to lead to a new skin. Philralph 14:41, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi, what happened is that you changed the skin to an "admin's choice", and you have the option selected in your preferences to see these custom choices. You can remove this setting on the wiki by deleting the page at http://sca21.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:AdminSkin - which in the case of sca21, would leave it as monobook. If you want to see the same skin on all wikis, whether the admin choice is set or not, then you need to remove the check from the "See custom wikis " in your preferences. -- sannse (talk) 21:21, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for this. I tried as you suggested above, but noticed that on my preferences the admin options was not set at default, so I set it so. I've left the "See custom wikis " checked 'cause I want this for other wiki. So I'm now seeing my preferred skin on sca which is great, but I signed out to see if the default skin would be monobook which it wasn't, and which I'd prefer it to be because of the feedback that that's what another user has asked for. So I reinstated the http://sca21.wikia.com/wiki/MediaWiki:AdminSkin, a version which says monobook. Do I need to change anything else, or is this just one of those things that takes time to feed through? Philralph 08:43, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
