Through the MediaWiki:Common.js page, the recent changes arrows were changed to red instead of the default blue. Recently however the arrows changed back to blue and I have been unable to revert them back to red. The following links are what the arrows should be.

Another problem I'm having is with adding little stars to the top of pages akin to on wikipedia featured articles. I tried to do this using w:c:liverpoolfc:Template:Featured and initially it worked. However after 5 minutes the stars disappeared and haven't reappeared since.

If you could help me out with these issues it'd be much appreciated. Sunderland06 (talk) 20:58, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know about your recent changes arrows, but your template problem is easy to identify. You wrote CSS in your MediaWiki:Common.css that hides your Featured template:
.va-titleicons {
   background: transparent;
   right: 0;
   height: 25px;
   line-height: 25px;
   overflow: hidden;
   text-align: right;
   border: none;
   display: none; /* remove this attribute, it's hiding your template */

Thanks, that got the Featured template back on but it's overlapping onto the article text and isn't clickable like it's supposed to be. Sunderland06 (talk) 21:39, August 6, 2012 (UTC) (Update: Someone has added a line break so the overlap doesn't happen, but it still remains a problem.)
Nothing seems to be going right for me, tried to add user hilite and nothing is happening. Sunderland06 (talk) 23:09, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Okay, 1 thing at a time :) -- I believe I've fixed w:c:liverpoolfc:Template:Featured, does it look okay on this article? All of the code is in the template itself, so you can remove all of this from your MediaWiki:Common.css:

/* Page icons */
.va-titleicons, .va-titleicons-hover {
   font-size: 11px;
   position: absolute;
   margin: 0;
   max-width: 275px;
   z-index: 3;
.va-titleicons-hover {
   background: #FFF;
   right: -2px;
   height: auto;
   overflow: auto;
   text-align: center;
   border: 2px solid #D9D9D9;
   padding: 0 5px;

For your user highlight, the problem is a syntax error: you have a couple missing commas.

/* Hilighted names list */
a[href="/wiki/User:Sunderland06"],      /* this line needs a comma */
a[href="/wiki/User:KinaseD"],           /* this line needs a comma */
a[href="/wiki/User:HelpMeRhonda213"] { color:#228B22 !important; }

I'm guessing based on your questions that you're still learning how to use CSS? I highly recommend that you take a look at the w3schools tutorial -- it will teach you more about the basics of using CSS. That way you can solve these kinds of problems yourself with ease. What browser do you use? If you use the Firefox browser, I also recommend the Firebug browser extension for working with CSS. Chrome also has decent Developer Tools. 20px_Rin_Tohsaka_Avatar.png Mathmagician ƒ(♫) 19:08 UTC, Wed, 08 August 2012

First of all, thanks for all your help. I don't really bother with CSS much, so I wouldn't even say I'm still learning, I just use it as and when I need it (and usually need help as you can see). I guess reading your link can't hurt though, so thanks again. :D (I use Firefox) Sunderland06 (talk) 19:14, August 8, 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) The recent changes arrow issue remains, anybody got an idea how to fix it? Sunderland06 (talk) 22:58, August 9, 2012 (UTC)
