It's a question about the manipulation of general mediawiki, not specially about wikia, I want to apply this to a wiki outside. In fact, I want to hide the link to user's talk page on Special:Recentchages.

Because we are using some diffrent type of user page, so the links are no use. But I don't know how to do this with my Common.css. I want someone to help me.

And also, I'd like to know which extension I must install to have Special:Contributions and Special:Block pages (I'm admin of the concerned wiki). Thank you in advances for your help.  Cafeinlove msg 2011-03-17, 8:11 am

.mw-usertoollinks a[title~=User] {display: none;} would be the first idea that pops up in my mind that should work outside Wikia. Although there's probably an appropriate page in Special:AllMessages that let's you modify the whole text, which is a recommended solution since the css override doesn't look too good (leaves a pipe and such). As for the second issue; that would be a proper question for MediaWiki software forums, you'd certainly have a better chance to get an answer there. Sovq 09:27, March 17, 2011 (UTC)
I understand... I guess Mediawiki:Recentchanges is the page to modify the Recentchanges structure, but I have no idea how to build this. I'm reading corresponding manual by Mediawiki but not so easy without an example.  Cafeinlove msg 2011-03-17, 10:48 am
Nah, MediaWiki:Recentchanges alters what Special:Recentchanges is called in the heading of that page and in lists that link to it. :) I would strongly recommend asking on the MediaWiki software forums. The answer there is more likely to be totally accurate, and strictly speaking, these forums are for Wikia wikis only. The 888th Avatar (talk) 11:43, March 17, 2011 (UTC)
Also, I am pretty sure there is no MediaWiki message to make the kind of alteration you want. :( MediaWiki messsages can't change how the software functions, only parts of what the software shows, and hiding a link to user talk pages falls under the category of changing what the software does. I see. Above all I'll ask them for extensions stuff, and try to find an another way to make use of these user talk links. Thank you for answering, it's quite clear now.  Cafeinlove msg 2011-03-17, 12:48 pm
A link to the wiki in question would be nice. -- Fandyllic (talk · contr) 17 Mar 2011 7:39 PM Pacific
